    I have a Thor 30" Natural Gas Range and am thoroughly satisfied with it. As a chef, it does everything I want it to do and looks pretty good while doing it. People get distracted by all of the bells and whistles offered by some of these high-end ranges and forget what a range is and that is a heat source to cook food. Granted styling and name-brand recognition and multi-colored finishes are important to many home cooks looking to impress but professionals usually stick to the basics. The Thor has the power needed to bring large pots of liquid to a boil rapidly with two 15K burners in the back and does a good job at the lower end with two dual-purpose burners in the front. It did not come with a griddle iron but you can purchase one separately. The oven is a bit on the smaller side at 4.55 cu ft but it is sufficient for what most people will use an oven for. With all of that said, mine is a 30" and not a 36" pro range. Many people cannot afford the cost of modifications or for that matter, a house with a kitchen big enough to house an amature-professional appliance suite but the Thor provides everything a cook or chef needs to produce quality product at a price point substantially below the prestige brands. I cannot speak to longevity as I have had it less than a year, but as a professional who was responsible for major equipment replacement in a large banquet kitchen I can tell you that the basic burners and oven heat source will last for decades on quality equipment it is the electronics and fancy surfaces that fail on chef wanna be cooking platforms. JMO.

      I appreciate this review! I'm looking at this too, but wonder how the oven is? I bake a lot, typically cakes and pastries.

    We were originally going with a 48' Wolf all gas after being torn between Monogram and wolf after time we Decide On Wolf But the all gas has not been updated in years and just lacked the Modern Features, So we jumped to a Wolf 48 Dual fuel Have not purchased it yet but did get the Cove Dishwasher and its awesome.

    Wife is between Bluestar and Thermador--you gave BS an "A"--how do you rate T? And what is your thoughts on each ones reliability/servicability?

    I truly enjoyed this feedback! Thanks. We are Miele and Gaggenau fans, but I have to say that the Hestan lineup has piqued our interest as we are now shopping for our next kitchen remodel.

    At the end of the day I’ve used many of these different ranges and most of them cook great. I had an old JennAir with the clock. Works amazing and has great even cooking. Basically all these stoves do the exact same thing.

      Maybe......I have had a few as well. There are some differences.

    Bought a BlueStar 36" range. Love the burners, however, the oven is a nightmare. Very intermittent. Lots of service calls and we haven't fixed it right yet. Techs on the phone with BlueStar, everyone is trying, but just no luck.

    What are your thoughts on side by side vs bottom freezer configuration? Is one better for maintaining temp control? I like the ease of the bottom drawer, but the capacity in columns, and it seems they provide better overall view, but the side by side and even french door are cheaper, why is that? Love the channel. Many thanks for sharing your experience, wisdom and valuable time, Sir. Greatly appreciated.

      First thank you....I think side by sides organize your food better. The ice dispenser will work better because the frozen cube is going through a freezer instead of the refrigerator.... That said, French doors store better laterally with bigger pans, pizza boxes, etc.

      @@YaleAppliance1if just rangetops, what would you recommend? I feel wolf is lacking here, has BTUs but a basic design and overall performance doesn’t seem to stand out when you omit the oven. Doing a video on rangetops would be interesting so people can pick and choose the best of both worlds (best wall ovens and best rangetops)

    Thank you for this great information! Why does Dacor never get talked about? I had one and was thinking about it again after we moved. It is the only one that has the huge burners. I have just noticed that no one really talks about it. Is there any reason? Thanks!

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  Před 22 dny

      Thats a great question. Many dealers do not service what they sell. Dacor is owned by Samsung which is not a good thing for service.

    You guys said it, Wolf NEEDS to work on their all gas range. The fact that their dual fuel has multiple BTU burners and their all gas doesn't put them behind Bluestar for me. I have gone back & forth so many times on this but I can't get passed they only offer 15K burners.

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  Před 8 měsíci

      But their French top, grill and griddle are amongst the best

      I have a wolf with 15k burners and they are sufficient, even with large cookware. If you have the flame too high it goes to the outside of the cookware and is a waste of gas. I had a bluestar and bought a wolf instead. The bluestar is sitting in the garage.

      @@YaleAppliance1 Thanks. I saw their 48 Inch Dual-Fuel Steam Range with Integrated Griddle this week and it looks quite amazing in their features. I hope you will take a look at it and give your thoughts on it. I looked at it and SKS side by side and definitely think the Dacor is the winner.

      @@YaleAppliance1 Maybe higher than that since they are great innovators and have the background from starting the industry. I know them professionally, and they are solid. They are not just a look-good brand. Where is their downside with home ranges? Is it service?
