Fuhu at Resorts World Las Vegas is an Asian restaurant that was just voted the best party restaurant in Vegas. Fuhu is part of Zouk Entertainment group, Which also owns and manages Zouk Nightclub, Ayu Dayclub, Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den and other Las Vegas hotspots. I had high-hopes for this dinner considering it is widely considered the hottest and coolest restaurant at Resorts World. But after my dinner was complete and $550 dollars later - I was totally disappointed!

Hey James, you really are our field test subject, willing food experience reporter, you go places allot of us never do, but we all are very interested to find out how it is!
This level of cuisine like you said deserves to blow your taste buds away. Great to hear they respected your opinion and took it back. Dare I say you are our Michelin tester that arrives un announced and gives us the goods. Always fun to follow your culinary adventures!
My girlfriends and I ate at Delmonicoâs In Venetian/Palazzo recently and 2 of us ordered their Waygu beef and it was TOUGH! For the price, it was embarrassing. When brought to the attention of management, we were treated as if we were âlooking for a freebieâ. They offered to recook the 2 pieces, I refused, but my girlfriend accepted. The second piece was no better and tasted like âoldâ beef/steak, you know the dried blood taste. We will never go to Delmonicos again. The bartender mentioned that because of its price, they donât sell much of it and the kitchen will serve older/expired piece of beef. Sad! So sad!
A lot of restaurants don't want to admit they don't have much experience and supervision in the kitchen.
A year ago I ate there and restaurant seemed empty and the service was mediocre. In the past it was so much better.
If ya want a good steak, Lakeside or SW at the Wynn.
We didnât have a good experience eating their either. My steak was not cooked as I ordered it and I got the same treatment. It was really one of the worst experiences we have had in a restaurant
@@rickysmama9638
Thanks for commenting. The more comments and hopefully theyâd see them. Definitely, not worth the price. Their attitude was terrible. I wasnât looking for a freebie either.
If it was me I would be thinking of hitting Burger King after this. đ
I highly recommend 'China Mama' which is one of Vegas Chinatown's standouts for Chinese food... You won't be disappointed... We spent around $200 for two and it was the best meal we have had in ages!!
I'm visiting Vegas in January and like to try out Mama.
That sounds good. I think James should venture out to some local restaurants that vegas has to offer instead of only focusing on the strip hotelâs restaurants.
In the 80s, I bussed tables at a restaurant that catered to tourists from New York. There was a menu item that cost double what everything else did, and of course hardly anyone ever ordered it. One night I heard a customer complaining about the dish with the owner, who offered him to order something else, or have the price of that dish cut in half. He blew sunshine up the guy's azz by complimenting his "discerning palate". At the end of the night I asked the owner about it and he explained he felt having the item on the menu made the place seem more upscale, and the prices for other items more reasonable by comparison. So it made the place more profitable (in his mind at least) even though it almost never sold.
I so appreciate all that you share in your experiences. You are a high roller in life and do not regret because you make people happy like me and cheer for you. You are like my son that I am so proud of. ...young mom!!!
Awesome review!! And I agree. For $500, that meal had better change my life!!! I'll now watch some of your other reviews.
Hey James, thank you so much for this review - what a shame. I had a terrible experience at Carversteak on a $500 dinner for me and 2 of my friends. Ambiance was great, server staff was great, but my issue came with the quality of food and the management staff. Steak was well undercooked ( I asked for it medium rare, and it was raw - not blue, raw) and when I sent it back, they cooked the same steak and made it well done. The manager didn't approach us even after having the servers go and talk to them multiple times and they also did not remove the cost of the steak from my bill as "its a very premium cut and cannot be returned".
I almost never, ever send food back. But I absolutely would have sent the baby food tartare back.
The visual of the dish.
One eats with their eyes first.
It looked like a tumor on a plate.
Confession: I have never seen a tumor, but if I had, that's what a tumor would look like.
What a visually beautiful restaurant. I appreciate hearing about the highs and lows of the meal.
RW had a LOT of bugs to work out early on. Itâs the largest property investment in history on the strip, and they werenât show ready. It tells me a lot that they took your order back professionally. It means they heard you. That chef at Mandalay Bay probably had some orders sent back to him before he became a wizard. As usual, good spot James.
True, RW even opened when only half the places in there had opened. Too soon was my guess as well
I guess that is the new thing in Vegas for these fancy restaurants in these fancy hotels. I was in Vegas last week and took my cousin to a birthday dinner at Superfrico in the cosmopolitan. They hit me for 200 plus tip for 1 appetizer 1 filet of fish entree and 1 scallops entree. The entree portions were ridiculously small⊠we were still hungry when we left. 4 cocktails for 80 bucks⊠small cocktails⊠not normal size cocktailâs.
I was severely disappointed. The decor is nice⊠great music ⊠lively ambiance⊠but the serving portions compared to the price⊠is armed robbery.
Great video, thanks happy holidays...
Well, they blew it manâŠespecially since you are posting to many thousands of fans whom trust your reviews. Very cool decor at least and good move by the manager. Appreciate your insights, keep it going. Cheers.
I just subscribed to your channel. Your review of Fuhu is fast moving & exciting. Your video was fantastic. You've got a talent!
Great vid and review, love the food presentation.
Hey, I too indulged at FUHU. Overall the highlights of my meal was the Szechuan crusted filet and the king crab & truffle fried rice. I ordered two specialty rolls which ended up back in my fridge for a night cap. I agree the service was great and if you have a Birthday there it gets lit. Literally. My meal was $300 cheaper and I was pleased with everything.

We ate at Silver Diner the other night. We got the jumbo crab cakes with mashed potatoes, asparagus, roasted half tomatoes and salmon and jumbo shrimp ,2 drinks, bread pudding with vanilla ice cream and coffee. It was delicious! .. All for under $100, including tip.
WOW! That didn't look appetizing at all! Now the drink looks good! Everytime I go to Vegas, I eat at The Water Grill at Caesars Palace đđ€Never disappoints!!
honesty is appreciated James
I'm with you on this meal. None of this looked appealing to me. Baby food is an apt description of the tartar. The wagyu was so rare a skilled veterinarian could have brought it back. I normally like your dinner selections and they usually look great. These were definitely not up to par. And at over $500 - YIKES!
thanks for sharing...high class!!!
I think I'm going to start living vicariously through you
Here in Boston, Iâve ate at sushi places that charge the same but presentation is outstanding. The Fuhu food looked, aesthetically unappetizing especially for sushi.
I imagined you're sponsored to be able to do all these extravagant outings & vacations. Don't sweat it. Keep on, keeping on.
Awesome review. Objective with personal subjective critique. Excellent review.
95 Dollar tip for one meal ! đ±đ±đ±you can come and eat Dinner at my house anytime, Iâm a retired fine dinning chef BTW , and you always give such entertaining reviews too , keep them up âŹïžwe all love em đŹđ§
Servers make about $8 an hour there plus tips. $95 is your standard tip.

Enjoyed your review
Hey I love your videos. Could you do one on herbs and rye ?
I ate at the Bar and used $200 F&B credit. I was very satisfied with it. The scallops were fantastic and I had a wagyu dish as well.
Your video was fun to watch
Sad food disappointment. Yay, dessert saved the day! Gorgeous, fantastic place.
I have been to fuhu 4 times and overall pretty good experience. Try the short rib next time.
I subscribed because you weren't intoxicated by presentation or price. If I order something expensive with high expectations, I'm always inclined to be positive over realistic to justify my expensive choice even though the dish included my favorite food(s). I just wannnt it to be better than it actually is compared to my favorite mom n pop. đ”âđ«đŹ
A decent review. Not all restaurant experiences are good. Thanks.
Even if I had infinite amounts of money,I would be happy with a $30 burger with good fries and a soda. But thatâs just me
You are an excellent tipper đ
I would go just for that desert. Especially being only $14!
Hey James how about Golden Steer? Love to hear a review from you on this Vegas classic.
Good honest report
Going to Vegas in April and was going to try Fuhu. Good to know I wonât be trying this place.
Thanks for this. I was thinking about going here but the food looked terrible and the price is crazy.
Dang, kind of a let down....I so appreciate your honest feedback :-) Thank you for keeping it real.
I usually have one or two blow out dinners for a week in Vegas. If I got that meal I would have been pissed! So far Iâve only had one disappointment and that was Aureole. The tasting was just average and the wine pairing sucked. I complained to the waiter and he seemed bent but told the sommelier who told me he knew exactly what I was talking about and changed the pairing just for my table. Totally saved our meal. Iâll never forget him!
You need to go to Delilah in Wynn for an amazing overall experience.
Are Vegas restaurants, etc. starting to include mocktails, na beers, and other choices for the more enlightened among us?
The snapper sushi didn't look appetizing. Great to hear the management and staff were so accommodating and friendly. Not sure I am in a hurry to try it.
Nearly everything here in Vegas is overpriced but the drinks is what gets you
Vegas just seems like a giant ripoff now. I am not American, and I haven't been to Vegas for years, but watching these videos from the various posters (which are great) just make it seem like a total shakedown from the moment you get off the plane.
@Such Is Life It's not just meals though, from what I can tell. I get you can go off the strip and probably feel like you arent constantly being ripped off. But that seems to defeat the purpose of going to Vegas in the first place.
6:15 crazy amount of upcharge on wagyu. I went to the country side of Hokkaido and ate at a restaurant next to the wagyu farms. For about 150 USD it was enough for lunch for 5 adults. just all wagyu paried w/ steamed rice. we were stuffed. If I had to guess, about $7-8 per ounce of wagyu.
Carversteak is amazing!!
Hey thats my year budget for Dollar Tree food đ„
Dude..... wow
I have claimed since i went. Resorts world and everything there is a basic luxury hotel. It is so nice but something is missing.
Thanks for the review and sorry to hear it wasn't outstanding. A few of those dishes didn't look too great either.
I think most of the food options at Resorts World leave you feeling as though you didn't get your money's worth. It's the one down side to the Resort in my opinion.
I'm always disappointed when I get served something I can make easily. Make me feel like I'm special even if it's a club sandwich put your own twist on it.
I would like to see you review more of these fancy schmantzy places
Your the man...like me we call it as it is.
I thought of getting a meal Fuhu when I stayed at Resorts World back in July. Good to know it's not worth it. I tend to stay away from these Japanese fusion restaurants on the Strip. There are tons of better options off the Strip. For $550, I would prefer spending that at a true sushi place.
For that price it should come with a great blow job.
@@johniii8147 You're saying you like cheap working ladies in Vegas?
@@Bluboy30 No women are not my thing,.
@@johniii8147 Oh so your into old men then lol! ?
Tomorrow!
I remember hearing that the original restaurant name was going to be called FUHO - F*ck U Highly Overhyped...
any good sushi dishes there
Con games and Vegas go together.
That's the fanciest presentation I've ever seen for a $14 dessert.
So is this just for mega rich people?
i think you should go by shake shack and get a burger
I would never waste that much money on a dinner. There are so many excellent restaurants everywhere at a reasonable price. That's just ridiculous and foolish.
Dude - tequila daisy. Tequila egg white drink.
Nice you can afford to live your life this way..
555 falling embers đ crash and burn
Iâm not gona guess anything by the name ! đđ
I'm glad you make monster money I can't ever see spending over $500 on an overpriced meal for 1 day when I could feed a couple with 1 child for almost whole month or more with $555. I think people who dine on the strip are just totally delusional or filthy rich go to overpriced high end restaurants. I personally know a chef who works at a very high-end restaurant in The Venetian and he tells me minimum markup on almost everything is 300% and the sucker tourist s are paying for it
Mitsuboshi means 3 star. So not sure it refers to a specific region. My guess is a marketing gimmick to sell lesser steak for more.
Thanks for info
Sorry you got beat
Did not look good at all
ESP. For 550
Itâs best to check the reviews of restaurants before eating there.
Never would spend that kind of money when I can cook from scratch and make it 5 star. For 550 bucks I would have bought tomahawk steaks and upscale tuna, etc.
I would dare pay $550 for a meal đź
You only live once brother!
$559 for that? You've been had. I would just order a good old hamburger with the meat crispy on the sides and edges and juicy in the inside with a great Bordeaux wine.
You either loose $550 in the casino, or you loose it at some hyped up trendy restaurant.
I prefer McDonaldâs whenever I travel, if there isnât a McDonaldâsâŠ.. Iâm not going.
Being "hot" or "cool" doesn't mean shit. If a restaurant is great, people just say it's great - they don't have to fart on about how "hot" it is. For that kind of money you should at least let the restaurant order for you.
I don't know what you expected at Resort World. It's a tourist trap.
Great review. Spending $550 for a meal is like playing slots @$50 a spin, not gonna happen. Silver lining you recover your $550 loss in CZcams ad revenue
Should have went to IN-N-OUT.
Yikes. Not sure I would spend that much for one person at a new or concept restaurant. Only Michelin awarded, five diamond, or Joël Robuchon types.
wow you never have much not good to say,you know for sure i think there not busy and we know what that means!
In-and-out is better.
Couldâve had a better meal at In&out for 6$
There's a saying: let the food smile, NOT THE DECOR. Next time, go to a place that invests in the food and NOT THE COOL COLORS.
I'd be asking for some comps and my money back.
Ain't my cup of tea. This is a bit too effing extravagant. I'd be happier with McDonald's knowing I'd be satisfied and not wasting money.
Sounds like you should have gone to a burger or ribs joint, where you get great food for a reasonable price, rather than spending $550 and being so disappointed. Personally I don't think there is any food that is worth that much anyway.
When you have dinner at any number of Las Vegas restaurants, just triple the price compared to a similar restaurant in almost any other city in the U.S.
Agreed. Way overpriced and average food.
The layout is weird inside the Resort. The layout is like one big T
Why didn't you tell them to cook the steak more if you know it's better that way? I'm not a fancy food expert I eat at McDonald's but this doesn't make sense
Thanks for eating at a place that I would never eat at. Anyone paying $550 for dinner is a wishing 1 percent-er.
Really need to work on the presentation, those dishes looked unappetizing. I also don't like Resorts World's concept of the restaurants being so open to the shops outside. It makes it feel like you are just eating in the mall, even though the restaurant may be beautiful on the inside. I much prefer the class that the Wynn restaurants encompass. When you walk into the main dining room at Wynn restaurants, you feel removed from the casino or the hustle and bustle outside of the restaurant, you get transported into a very elegant and comfortable space. Most of your views outside the restaurant are tailored for that experience, be it the Lake of Dreams, or golden dragon etc. Much preferred.
Buttery Snapper...did not look like Snapper @all.
