My trip to Cameroon: At the palace of the Bamoun King/Sultan in Foumban

  • September 2012 I took a DNA test with www.africanancestry.com to determine my ethnic origin. I received my results back in October 2012 to discover that my maternal DNA indicate that I have a 99.4% match with the Tikar people of Cameroon in West Africa. Therefore I took a pilgrimage to visit my people June 2013 to further discover who I am as a Tikar man. This video is one of many that I documented during my stay. I hope you enjoy.

Just like Cameroon called this man, I hear Mali calling me.... Majority of my DNA comes from the upper Niger bend. I cannot wait to reunite with my homeland. We all must make it a goal to reconnect with our brothers and sisters in the Motherland.

Thank you for sharing your trip to Cameroon 🇨🇲 I found out just recently from taking the National Geographic Ancestry DNA test that my mother’s people are/were Bamileke, so my mother’s people are the ones who cross over the river and split from the Tikar people because they didn’t want to convert to Islam during The time of the Islamic invasion into north west Africa, so they separated from the Tikar people and went into the grasslands of Cameroon. I plan to go and visit Cameroon next year to learn more from my mother’s people (the kind of history that you just can’t get in a book) but in the mean time I am learning all the I can about them. Thanks again

Thank you Dee. It's always great to meet more of my people. I hope you enjoy/ed my videos. If you would like to visit real Tikar Villages in Cameroon such as Nditam, Ngome, Ngambe and Bankim, then you need to connect with our tribal/Tikar brotha by the name of Issa Nyaphaga. He is the brotha that is in most of my videos and he is on Facebook as well.

If the bamun people have their origins in Tikar people then why did the guy act like bamun people were separated.
I don't think he was a worthy host, you can see that he was not there for the truth maybe he didn't even know the history of the area.
It's obvious by observation the people are one people but scattered to populate.
Out of all the families some were more powerful than others

This people are Bamoum not Tikar's, am a Tikar we don't practice Islam ,we are Nilots. We Tikar's are one of the only English speaking people in cameroon.we are found in the north west region of Cameroon )
(Bamenda) some scholars say we are the most rebellious people in cameroon.there is a different between a Tikar, Bamoum and Bamileke. We migrated from the Nile in the 15centuary to northern Cameroon . due to the Arab slave trade an drought in northern Cameroon we migrated westward to the north west region of Cameroon (Bamenda) we was colonies of British not french
