In the bathroom, cut out a small window(in the walls or ceiling) that can be opened up….even one foot by one foot will do.Works amazingly well to eliminate moisture and odor.
Thank you! I added a small window in the bathroom I’m so excited
Things are going pretty great on your van. You make such well thought out choices! Thanks, Sarah🥰
Thanks Pamela! 😊 thinking about this van build is all I do these days haha 😅
So funny when you threw your earmuffs away. Very nice... nice van too.
Wonderful design and execution Sarah. Can’t wait for the test drive
Hey there! new to the channel. Mineral wool is the only insulation I use. As plumber/mechanical contractor I can say it is without a doubt the best insulation in almost every case. Ill be checking out other vids! keep them coming.
This is great to know! I am so glad I discovered it, it seems like the best solution for this project 😊
@@sarahyak_ It really is best. fire cant propagate in the cavities filled with it. its not flamable. Its vapor permeable so if it does get wet it will dry back out and be as new. Very pro move putting the lp tank under as well. Keep in mind when you choose your heat source that when building a home we arent allowed to have any fuel consuming device in sleeping areas because they can deplete the oxygen in the room' In a very confined space like a van you may want to consider a cubic mini or other wood stove as they have to be fed to continue to consume air and also can be piped to outside air for combustion also. stay awesome! glad to help!
Since metal transfer temperature well, I imagine it would be good to have something thin insulating between the metal and the walls too, not only in the openings in the metal.
You never cease to amaze me! I am so impressed by all you are able to do. I've said this before and I'll say it again: You rock, Sarah!
Aww thank you Dorothy!
7:47 I can relate to that all too well, that sound makes me shiver every time.🤢
Glad I’m not the only one 😅
Lol my son hates that foam sound too! I always mess with him when I have a foam sonic cup and he gets just like you did lol
You Rock Sarah. This is going to be amazing. Mucho Love Always ❤️ ❤
Is your AC mini split similar to Cruise & COMFORT? Wondering on difference to your mineral wool selection and Havloc?? You mention heated floors which IMO is crucial for a 4 season van. I like VLT there is another "R" who sells a kit. Radiant floor heating not a pad but actual glycol looped in the floor and VLT system is also a hot water system fantastic!! Big LPG tank under van. I plan to take the van overseas so could be a good thing??? Hmmm?? Keep it up doing a fantastic job!!!
This is so insane props to you for taking on such a huge project and sharing the process with us. I really enjoyed watching all that you’re able to do bc I could never!
Aww thank you! 💗💗
I love the video, Sarah, and I love you and Tori! Thanks for always posting something awesome for us to watch every weekend! Much love to you, Tori, and Cholla!
Thank you so much! 💗💗
Can't wait to see the final project!
😊💗
1 1/2 inch on the floor, Regular insulation inside the walls with 1 inch foam board on the walls also before framing and shiplap, the ceiling also has inch and a half on it also. You’re right insulation makes all the difference in the world…..I still need to do the doors, but it will have the same insulation on it too possibly one and a half inch… can’t wait to see your ac unit😎👍
I’m so impressed! Way to go!
Thanks! 💗
Like the Sparks lights at beginning, so hilarious 😂 #Funny #Laughter #GoodTimes
Been following you for a while now, & comment once in a while....Gotta hand it to you Sarah, you absolutely rock!!! Rooting for you and continued good luck with this process.
Aww thank you Scott that’s so sweet of you to say!
Wow very handy and you can fix so much on the van, good skills and good luck. Best regards from Northern Norway
Sweet heart,much love. Shamim 🦌🕊🤝💙🫂🎎👫💋❗🎯🤰🤱🏡🏢
Hello Sarah,
When you hook up your plumbing would you please go into detail and step by step please. I’m currently try to hook up my plumbing. The fitting sizes confuses me
I'm sure ur very excited to get this gem on the road, but I can't tell u how the suspense is killin me🤣
So excited 🎉
I love this ❤
AC unit on the floor
Great job! 👏 Subscribed 🌱
Thanks! 💗
Hi 🍃sarah have a beautiful day🌱
I’ve purchased a 12 volt 55PSI WATER pump and an accumulator. I have 28 gallon water tank. Look some who can explain it right regarding hooking everything up.
Sarah, I used foam on my van also… and I cut it with a skill saw and or a multitool….. works a lot better than a knife
Thank you for the tip!
@@sarahyak_ Can just run styrofoam through a tablesaw when possible too. Helps to hook up a shop vac with a drywall bag in it to contain the fine styro dust
Are you an engineer..?You never cease to amaze me!!! You are brave and brilliant ❤
No I’m not 😅 but I come from a family of engineers and my dad has taught me everything I know about building
@@sarahyak_ Us knowledgeable Dad's Rock haha
So far i think this is the best option and it heats too but i wonder 🤔 the comparison to a diesel/gas heater. And can you monitor it outside like through an app or something cause i have fur babies
You are doing great Sarah 👌
You know exactly what you want
But it is good that you choce a higher VAN because you lose height with dis floor
Keep up the good work girl 👍
Have FUN and be SAFE
Definitely! The subfloor is 4” tall so you definitely lose height. Thankfully the Ford Transits are the tallest of all the vans
That was a good on how to cook down on this video
The foam !!! Lolol...
😂😂
You may want to move the spare tire.Spares rust like merry hell if left there.I had that in my Ranger truck,I had to use a torch to get the spare down.
Move it to where...there's nowhere else to put it. Just need to check it occasionally and oil it. I took cable hoist down and dripped oil into it for a while so it can lube up
I'm interested to see how you power the ac unit. I've got one in mine but I can only use shore power to run it because it draws too much power. So it is only good in limited situations.
I will have 800Watts of solar, 600 amp hours of lithium iron batteries and DC to DC charging so I think it will be sufficient but I will let you guys know how it works when I finish the van and test the entire system out!
Greetings beckoning you from London England Great Britain 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Hi Sarah! Does your van have a dual alternator? Also, will you be using an electric or propane stovetop?
No, it doesn’t have a dual alternator! I’ll be using propane for the stovetop
Where did you buy that fan?
Suggestion: When welding on the van, disconnect the battery.
Thank you for the tip!
@@sarahyak_Could you kindly tell me where you bought that fan that can be seen at minute 00:17? Thank you.
I used to have a van with an under-mounted propane tank. Just wondering, how are you going to refill the tank as you have mounted it?
I will add a remote fill kit!
@@sarahyak_ Ohhhh! I didn't know anyone made such a thing. Thanks for the info. I'll look it up.
You should put a skid plate to protect that propane tank.
What’s the a/c unit called that you’re using?
It’s the Pioneer underbench RV mini split
❤❤❤❤
After log time
Undermount propane tank 😮
👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾💪🏾👍🌺
I don’t think that’s a good place for the propane tank, there’s always something in the road that might strike it, and it might blow up
If the ribs are not covered with insulation the insulation is not going to be very effective.
Hi Sarah
Well I think you are doing very well BUT! just my curiosity why now spend the money on a van when I would think a house would be more exciting.
Reason I ask is van life seems to be dropping like crazy we may be down a path or fad.
Now that his is my opinion but a home better investment.
Not everyone decides where and how to live based on financial or practical reasons, especially when young and in one's "adventurous" phase (which some people never fully outgrow, to their credit), nor on what's currently trendy and "in". Vanlife didn't stop being a viable and satisfying way to live for those who are cut out for and like it just because it's no longer quite as popular as it was during Covid. Plus, not everyone who has a camper van lives in it full time, and many have fixed homes to live in between van trips, or find places to stay in long-term in-between can trips, e.g. house sitting, short-term rentals, etc.

I agree it was just my opinion
