A lot of money and multiple championships. Mercedes had a huge development edge in the start of the hybrid era and that was not due to Lewis. Sure Lewis was an important part of winning the championships by being a good and consistant driver, but Mercedes undeniably had the best car. Mercedes doesn't owe Lewis anything. Going to be exciding to see how Lewis will impact Ferrari, I personally doubt that it will be a success, but it is just my take

@@shavaughnduncan2215 Sure he earned the championships, but only by having the right car and team around him. Baseline is that he is an employee and moderen F1 is won more by the engineers and the team then the driver.
Also he provides input, but he is not an engineer and I doubt that he really has that detailed insight into the design of the car. At least I highly doubt that he has the holistic view of the challenges that would be caused by the requests. Moving the driver forward in the chassis was most likely a compromise to gain performance, which didn't realise. So it is easy for Lewis to just tell them to move the seat back, but the impact to other performance areas would be huge. Which is why the new car is a NEW car. Mercedes failed with their 2023 design and I doubt it was because of not following Lewis' input. To me it sounds like Lewis is dissatisfied with Mercedes not making a competitive car, but thinking that is because they didn't consider his input is ludicrous

The fact that Hamilton announced his move to Ferrari at the beginning of the season is a kick in the nuts for Carlos, when you are Knighted you are to present yourself in a professional and civilized manor to have good judgement, this announcement is unprofessional, uncivilized, a lack of judgement, very disappointing, very unsportsmanlike.
How so? He is giving a years notice to merc to find a replacement, and allowing them to take proper precautions from him taking intellectual property. And giving sainz enough time to find a team….. I don’t think he did anything wrong at all.
