Dude i m just a beginner into this videography world n filmmaking .. I have a passion for photography n videography watching ur vdos makes me feel to the next level i love watching these videos
Thanks very much for all the time and care that went into this! There's so much junk and dirt discouragingly bad example footage out there to sift through that I was losing hope in this adapter. Mine is on its way and your video restored my faith. Thanks man!
Now that you covered the chart etc, do you have time to actually shoot outdoors with it. So far I've yet to really get a feel for the bokeh of this adapter, and it seems that may change with each lens you pair it with. If you have time I might suggest a person( or object) in the foreground med shot ( navel to head) in focus and something like trees moving in the background. Assuming you don't live somewhere freezing like I do ; ).
dam bro that set up!!! Do you ever do lens giveaways?? i wan this lens so bad, i just cant afford it but i would love to buy it used from you as i cant find any Anamorrph's used ...
Hello Eyepatch. First off absolutely fantastic tutorial. Well explained and very informative for people like me looking to get into anamorphic lenses. I recently purchased the SLR Magic 25mm 0.95 but I was not aware of the mark II version. I see in your video you also have a mark II version of the 35mm 1.4. If I buy the SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x will not having the mark II version damage my existing lens?
Hi I got very interested when we started talking about the video's squeeze, does that mean that this anamorphic adapter preserve height pixels, unlike just cropping it in an editing program?
You can certainly rack focus between subjects. The further the taking lens is stopped down, the greater the distance you can rack between two subjects. Its a single focus lens with a MFD around 10ft at T4. The additional focus ring on the lens works like a variable diopter that will give you some flexibility on rack focusing on subjects closer than the normal MFD. Again, out of the normal mode, the range of your ability to rack focus will depend on the f-stop you are shooting at.
Sorry if my English sound bad... anyway i have few questions as i have never heard about anamorphic lenses or SLR adapter before yesterday so i wanted to learn more about this. for my footage i just crop my FHD to 1920 x 840 to get that aspect ratio and of course i lose pixels there. what i heard that anamorphic saves that details but as i see that everything is actually stretched then you squeeze it. don't you really lose the same number of information from the footage by doing that? what really make it special other than the flare and the bokeh? maybe better motion? Also how do your 35mm lens act like? does it still make 35mm perspective?? im so confused with this crop factor! when i crop my footage the scene perspective don't feel exactly like 35 i mean i usually end up using something wider than the feel of the focal length because the aspect ratio is giving me a tight scene to work with.
Please help me if you can. I just got a Fuji XT-2 with a zoom 16-55mm. Is there any way to have anamorphic with this lense and if not, what is the best I can do to achieve anamorphic with this camera? Thank you!
Hello, I hope you can help me with a one doubt what about using it with rokinon cine or super takumar lenses, i saw a video where the cinematographer used this anamorphot and rokinon, how is that posible? what clamp or adapter is requiered thank you for the tutorial, is very helpfull to see how it works
Alejandro Oseguera I am using with my samyang/rokinon cine lenses 35mm and 85mm. its working ,. no vignet.. you have to get 77-62mm and 72-62 step down ring.
Hi! Have you ever used the Anamorphot together with a filter? If yes, did you attach it to the front or in between the taking lens and the Anamorphot? Thank you!
+Eyepatch Entertainment thanks for your quick reply! :) I'm just wondering if using a filter in front of the Anamorphot would influence the flares. I would like to use the Anamorphot and the Tiffen Black Pro Mist together.
Widest known Focal length without vignetting from user feedback:
mFT (BMPC): 17mm
mFT: 20mm
S35: 28mm
FF: 40mm
+Eyepatch Entertainment Any data for APSC ?
APS-C = S35

OMG! that monitor? drrrooooooollliiing
Thanks for the very thorough tutorial, lots to take in!
Very good video.thanx
Great and clear tutorial. Now the diapotor part is also clear to me :)
Thank you for great review Mark~! and I love your new monitor.
That monitor is the definition of overkill
Haha it's literally a television
Yeah belongs on a wall in front of the editing seating area a good way off.
I don't think it is a monitor. It is more of a TV, which perform badly when it comes to colour.
Nice and full detail.
Brilliant, mate. Great job
thanks that was very nice
Well explained and interesting.Cheers.
Amazing guy! Life is beautiful!
This is incredibly helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorial
Your Videos are brilliant. Your screen too ;)

Great stuff. Where do you get the diopters from? I don't see them in the Adorama description as being included with the anamorphot...Thanks!
Woooweeee, that's a big monitor. What's it like working with that all day? What is the monitor - sorry if I've gone off topic. The tutorial is great.
Avidcomp thats the Monitor of the camera
Hi I got very interested when we started talking about the video's squeeze, does that mean that this anamorphic adapter preserve height pixels, unlike just cropping it in an editing program?
Whoa, that monitor at 12:34 is enormous. 4k?
Since this is a dual focus lens setup, is it possible to rack focus between multiple subjects? Does the adapter make it more difficult to do so?

Thanks, this looks like a great product. Can't wait to see more footage!
WOW! Such a big monitor! Is it comfortable to use it?
Hey man, Great Tut! Really interested in the Adapter, do you know where you can purchase it from?
Sorry if my English sound bad... anyway

Which do you think is the better adapter...SLR Magic or the PanasonicAG- 7200?
Thanks for posting. Please How is the correct way to desqeeze the image on my editor? Must I define project size as 2553x1080 or 1920x812?
All you need now is a five hundred buck swing out matte box. That I have, had to say it to feel better about not having that titanic monitor. LOL
That screen is not real
+Philippe Orlando LOL

+Markus Neubauer i haven't tried a pro mist, but some filters will kill the flaring
+Eyepatch Entertainment seems like I'm gonna test it :)
Did you manage to do this test? I'm curious about the pro mist placement too...
Hey can you please tell me what lens you are using to shoot this video
Благодарю.
Will this adapter work with my Gh4 + metabonespeed booster + 18-35 sigma art and the 50mm art? thanks a lot :)
I use it with the 35mm art and speedbooster all the time
I use it with the 35mm art and speedbooster all the time

How big is your screen?
