Placido Domingo is one of the 3 legendary tenors, this is a gift for Dimash to sing with him.
❗One run through and they sang it. Sometime ago I saw an Italian tv show, Placido sitting around one of those big awninged outdoor cafe tables, family and friends talking and the subject of Dimash came up ! I almost fell off the couch, can't remember who said it but much talk and raving about his talent. He's more well known than people in America perceive. My best wishes and thank you.
It is a competition but of course not for Placido Domingo or Dimash, who were two of the judges. Placido wanted to duet with Dimash and they performed this just for their judge colleagues (and a small auditorium audience I believe). Placido Domingo is an extremely well respected and very famous opera tenor. He has had an amazing career, including singing as part of The Three Tenors group with Carrera and Pavarotti. The Three Tenors made opera and operatic cross-over famous worldwide and sold loads of records. Placido is one of Dimash's childhood heroes and Dimash says he became a singer in the classical style because of him. This was a match made in heaven. Placido is now 83. It is almost as if he were passing the baton on to the new generation. Amazing and rather magical.

Placido Domingo is a world best tenor singer. He is a maestro in the field of music and opera.
Placido Domingo sings like this at age 83. He sings the baritone part here. He is one of the most accomplished tenors but as he ages his voice gets lower. Stil, being able to sing like that at 83 🤯

💥His mother told the story of Placido being his early childhood hero, his Dad brought home an 8 track he listened to until forced to stop. Said he pulled his tapes around in little wagon and slept with them in a shoebox. Thank you for showcasing this amazing man.

She and Kanet outside on a beautiful day sharing stories with an interviewer, she doing the story telling as always, so animated, Kanat nodding, beaming. It's the reason I remember it so well. So relaxed on home territory, pretty trees and flowers, a breeze blowing. Wonderful stories.

Hello, Hauser from Cello accompanies Dimash in "Ave Maria", it's beautiful, they met in Budapest where Dimash was invited to be part of the jury of the program "Virtuosos" which Placido is director. Placido practically asked Dimash to sing with him.
I can’t believe any musical person, no matter what genre you prefer, have never even casually heard of Placido Domingo. After 60ish years of singing opera, I think he has the collar thing down.
Placido Domingo is one of 'THE THREE TENORS - world-renowned tenor and conductor for years - One of the greatest tenors in history - his son was on the panel for VIRTUOSOS, which this is taken from. Placido is 83 and Dimash is 29 - this was done at Placido Domingo's request - no crowd for that performance - It was a competition for young- up and coming classical musicians and what you're seeing are the judges
This is from Placido"s talent show for young classical musicians, called Virtuosos held in Budapest, Dimash was invited as a Judge on the show. Placido suggested the duet together & this was the result. Do you know that Placido was one of the Three Tenors, together with Pavarotti & Josè Carrerars & is world famous. He was one of Dimash's childhood heroes & this duet was a dream come true for him. Placido turned 83 a few days after this performance. Dimash has also been asked back as a Judge for next year.

What an honor for our beloved Dimash and a great joy for Maestro Domingo…. And I was bathed in tears of joy. I'm sooo happy.
Dimash was asked to participate as a judge in the competition for young classical musicians... and then... he gave us dear ones this wonderful jewel.
Maestro Domingo invited Dimash to sing the duet with him the day before. Dimash only had a short night to learn this song in French... and besides, Dimash had a cold with a cough. (You notice it more clearly in the second song at the end of the concert.)
Dimash would never act recklessly towards his duet partners. With good manners and respect, he would never drown out Maestro Domingo (then still 82) with his voice. He even adapts to Maestro Domingo's vocal color.
Dimash opens a new world to many Dears... the world of classical music. You should definitely watch the video (look at the end of the comment)... so many young, talented musicians and the sensitive assessment of the jurors... Great!!! ... and the legendary duet of Maestro Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen!
The duet is about two fisherman friends. They see a beautiful new priestess in the village and they both fall in love with her.The two friends vow not to let any woman come between them.

Dimash was invited by Plácido Domingo as a member of the jury of the European talent competition "Virtuosos" in Budapest, Hungary in January 2024.
Indeed Stjepan Hauser is the Croatian cellist who appears as a jury and who you can find on CZcams performing alongside Dimash.
Plácido Domingo invited Dimash to sing with him, performing this wonderful duet. I read that they only met twice to rehearse and it turned out perfect!!!
Placido Domingo is one of the best Operatic singers ever. Literally. Huge in classical. A giant. He doesn't need tips on how to wear his collar.
Dimash was very sick and learned this in 24 hrs.
The panel of people including Hauser, Placido Domingo and Dimash were all judges at a competition in Hungary known as The Virtuosos. It is a competition to discover new and exceptional talent in the world of classical music. It includes vocalists and instrumentalists.
Many bel canto teachers have verified that Dimash brings a cross interpretation between rigid classical singing (which must follow norms and exactly as the author of the piece wrote, from the notes and durations, the portamentos, the expressiveness... Everything) and much more popular flexibility. For purists, let's remember that Dimash had the dream of singing with Plácido Domingos since he was a child and it was the Maestro himself, Don Domingos, who suggested the duet (he knew that even with classical training, Dimash would sing as a cross between classical and pop )! Dimash only had one day to remember the work and make the recording, as this moment is part of the competition (like a talent show) for children with musical talent: The “Virtuosos”! Dimash, as well as Placido Domingos, were part of the Jury, accompanied by Erika Miklósa (opera singer), Adrás Keller (violinist, conductor and musical director of the Budapest Concert), Hauser (cellist), Plácido Domingos Jr. (singer and composer), Pablo Sanz Villegas (classical guitarist), Gabriela Rachid (cultural director) and Harvey Goldsmith (music promoter)! The show was in Budapest (Hungary) from January 16th to 26th this year, 2024!

He shared that at the age of 5, he had a VHC of a concert of Maestro Domingo and dreamed of meeting and working with him from that time. I am sure Dimash appreciated the opportunity to be a judge at the Virtuoso program, identifying young classical artists, at the invitation of Maestro Domingo.

I will address the appearance thing.. I think Dimas's clothes reflects "the New'' , and Placidos reflects "the old". Both, of which is very appropriate . I just loved watching this!!!!

This was from the 'Virtuoso' show where talented young people competed. Dimash was a judge as was Placido (who is involved with it each year). Yes it was the guy from 2 cellos, he was also a judge, as are the others shown watching this performance. Dimash and Placido decided to do this duet and other judges also performed in between the competition. This fulfilled a dream of Dimash's to meet and perform with Placido. Dimash will be 30 in May and Placido just turned 83.
Yes, a competition for virtuoso children. This was an extra demo. Dimash and Placedo and the other people you see are all judges. It's a fun program to watch on CZcams in 2 episodes.

This is Virtuosos an event for youth musicians to be judged by the greatest of the great and for the great to show off a bit. Maestro Domingo is considered one of the greatest tenors of the past 100 years. He was part of The Three Tenors. The maestro turned 83 less than a week after this was recorded.

Domingo es una leyenda de la ópera, director de orquestas sinfónicas, actor de cine, más de 4.000 arias cantadas (también wagnerianas) y me da risa lo de la palomina apretada, el canta así, cual Lord y con 83 años sigue siendo un caballero, la voz envejece (es natural) pero el genio y la figura siempre forman parte de nuestra esencia. Sin embargo, el maestro Domingo aún conserva la belleza del timbre de su voz profunda y no va a invitar a una voz como Dimash a cantar con él si no considerase importante su talento y voz. Magistral y sublime interpretación.

@@cheekydiko I don't agree that my comment was insulting. It was a "tongue in cheek" comment followed up with information. And there are all kinds of reasons I would expect someone to know that. I would be willing to bet that at least 90% of people who are involved with music or are musicians no matter their genre, from heavy metal or hip hop to country have at least for the names or know who Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras are. Even if they've never listened to their music or listened to Opera. These names are iconic in the world of music.
When I played trumpet in church and such, I would get shirts that were 1/2" large in the neck just to have enough room when playing high notes.
You can button up the top button and still have room with a tie on and it doesn't really show. But it sucks if the shirt is actually the right size.
