Are you saying criminal trials? The Supreme Court doesn't have trials, they hold oral arguments where they hear arguments based on briefs from the petitioners and respondents, but there is no testimony and they do not decide on the facts of a case, just whether there were constitutional issues that occurred at trial in the lesser courts. The Supreme Court also doesn't work year round. Typically they hear arguments from the first Monday in October and decisions are published in June. Occasionally, they release decisions earlier than June. I definitely agree with you about Thomas and his lack of ethics.
@@bellememorie I was speaking of Lower court case trials. Those are delayed by courts to give Trump an advantage. These criminal trials should have started quickly. Americans have the right to see if he’s convicted of these crimes before the election. The right to a quick trial is meant in the Constitution for Americans, not the accused.

$4M that can be somewhat accounted for. I would not be surprised if the number is closer to double that. As a federal employee there should be no execption for judges accepting gifts of any kind. They are paid for 12 months of work, not 9 or 10 like what is actually going on. No paid trips or speaking events. A normal z pafederal employee would be fired and charged.
Being outraged about someone's unethical behaviour won't change a thing. But a gift policy for all SC jurors, should secure that even C.Thomas can't accept gifts, to avoid any suspicion that his opinion can be bought.

@tonycook. Last fall, I believe, SCOTUS announced the most thin and inarticulate form of an oath to be forthcoming about gifts and perks. It wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. Clarence Thomas is surely not the only one doing this, but the actions of his and Alito's wife make all the rest of it untenable!

Wowser. I want to be a Supreme Court Justice. The non-employment benefits are the likes of that which I have never seen. Something about that makes me feel like it should be unlawful. I am surprised that the Senate does not have a hearing and make a referral to the Justice Department.
