Thank you so much for sharing such an inspiring documentary about multi-racial young adult and their experiences. I love all their stories. I love their friendship they all get along.🥰 Minseok or Suga is my cousin and never have I imagined that he also got bullied when he was younger. It broke my heart and I was in tears when I watched this episode about his revelation. He is such a happy person, a person who has a good heart, generous, very humble, friendly, talented, smart, and confident. He got a lot of achievements already at young age and it is something to be proud of. I love how he handled the situation well, thanks to my aunt's advice. What she said is true they are just jealous of him because he is indeed talented and he always have his mom's support and the whole family from Philippines and USA. We are always proud of him. Just like what Sobin said being multi-racial have a lot of advantages because they have lots of talents to showcase. Being multi-racial doesn't make everyone of them less of a human( Earthians like what Minseok said) They all deserve to be treated with respect and treated equally. I'm looking forward to see these beautiful people featured again on your documentary. I love all of them, their energy and their friendship. Kudos also to the TV show for putting up a very heart warming and inspiring documentary. 🥰❤

The thing is Kids don't say those hateful comments out of nowhere, they probably heard it or saw how their parents or family members reacted to mixed people and so they replicated it. It's honestly so sad that due to that children go through traumatic expiriences like Minseok's. Adults should be mindful of what they say and how they act towards other people, specially when in front of children cause you teach by setting an example and if that example is negative the Child will replicate that and hurt others. It's not difficult to be respectful to others and apreciate and celebrate the differences instead of shaming people for being different

Being a tall, skinny and emotional kid for most of my childhood made me a prime target for scum like that... some years after that turd was out of my life, he committed suicide- so obviously, he was a sad broken thing that needed to release his pain onto others, I can sort of understand it, but the shit he put me through, how he turned the whole swim team against me, ostracized me and humiliated and beat me daily while the coach did nothing (and nor did my parents)... that shit stays with you forever and there is no true excuse for it. and since the coward killed himself he took any chance of revenge or retaliation with him; like what was I gonna do, go piss on his grave? lol. the one positive that I took for that, at least positive for those around me, is that I could never stomach seeing injustice or bullying, not matter if it's among strangers or around acquaintances- I literally fly off the handle because of a conditioned response, I guess. Gotta find the small positives in the cruelty...

While true that one doesn’t need to be Korean to be respected, I think, in this case, the point is that someone can identify as Korean regardless of how they look or how they grew up. I don’t watch the whole episodes and have only see a few clips here and there on yt, but the focus seems to be that there are Koreans of mixed race and looks who can and do identify as Korean. The racial, hateful, and/or xenophobic comments said to these little kids and teenagers are hurtful, and people should try harder to be open and widen their views.
On the other hand, one can’t help but think to how people from different races/ethnicities most often are not “Korean” or “American” enough. A lot of mixed children or children from immigrants grow up stuck in between without feeling like they actually belong in either culture they grew up in.

How kids treat other kids, is the direct result of their parents' teaching.
In kindergarden, I had a friend who was obese. I never gave it a thought and still mostly remember her smile.
Many years later, my mother told that my friend's mother had come up to her one day to thank her for my friendship. She said some of the other kids shunned her daughter because she was overweight.

When I saw „Final Part“ in the title I thought, „What? Already?“. And why does 10 minutes go by so quickly when I‘m watching these series? (this and the one with the teenagers) I have mix-raced children, too, but they have not experienced any racism here in Europe that I know of. Racism is so insidious not only to the victims but also to the perpetrator. It damages both heart and mind slowly but surely if it goes unchecked. It is good that these kids found the strength within themselves and support in their families and friends. Please have more programs like this.

TV shows, their parents, from other kids at school and on the playground, older siblings or cousins, etc. It's parents' responsibility to teach their kids to not treat others badly because of their differences. They have to be an example to their kids by treating people right.

@GreAleLiv - I 100% hope she sends Zen to an international school in Korea. Even then it probably will not be perfect. But at least he can be around a diverse group of kids, so he won't feel totally alone and "othered". Actually, I found it bittersweet how these 4 young adults bonded with each other. For the first time in their lives they met other young adults who not only understood what they go through, but also actually *saw* them. I loved watching how they registered each other's differences - and then quickly moved on to celebrate those differences. Ultimately, they saw each other simply as just another person who shares their ties with Korea. This series was so AWESOME!

    • @iromosushi6291

@@Loriani93 I don't think that will change a lot for ALL mixed raced Koreans tho. Wilben, and naeun siblings are white+Korean, also they have celebrity dads. I would say in Korea and most Asian countries, colourism is still a big issue. So I think ppl who have darker skin (like the black kid and Filipino kid in this vid) will still face a lot of discrimination. I mean even Asians who have darker skin get hated for no reason...
More and more foreigners are settling in Korea because Korea is a great country, kinda like why ppl immigrate to the us, Canada... But imo Korea achieved this level of development too fast (literally 30 years ago they are at war) and a lot of Koreans are still not ok with foreigners. Unlike Singapore, they're a homoethnic country and some older generation might think they built all of these by themselves and now foreigners are here to "take their credit" and all... I mean they are a very diligent and hardworking culture, that's why they can become a first world country in such a short time. But a lot of conventional mindsets are still prevalent in Korea, eg: racism, misogyny, age superiority...

And I can see younger moms on the playground teaching their kids that their friends can look different and that's cool. It must be bittersweet for these kids they faced so many hardships but also they're blessed with a multicultural background and raised by wonderful open minded parents who taught them love and acceptance 💜 I hope one day the world can be united and learn to accept, love, embrace and respect all of our wonderful differences. Honestly language and culture is so interesting and if we'd only focus more on learning about other cultures I think that would be a major step in learning to accept and understand one another :)
We should be more like animals. They don't see their differences in the way we do, a german shepherd doesn't see a dalmatian and go "ew, he's different than me. his coat has different colors" etc, he only sees another dog. Ffs we've got dogs and deer, baby horse and bunny, and many more all becoming friends too.
