  • In this video we will look at how to fix the majority of gas leaks on your green gas magazines. It's a simple and affordable fix that should last for a long time.
    Green gas magazines can be notorious for developing leaks and this is a fix that in theory you can carry out on site. Quick and affordable I have found this solves 90% of green gas leaks in my Airsoft pistol magazines.
    get some silicone grease here:

    If you need some screw drivers you can get good sets from most hardware stores or Halfords professional range.
    I hope you enjoy this video and find it useful. If you'd like more content from me then don't forget to follow the channel on Facebook and on Instagram @rockbottomairsoft.

      I'm glad you found the video helpful. Got a G18 myself and I agree they can on occasion be temperamental. Think it's more to do with the full auto and cool down. Some are more reliable than others.

      Sorry to here about your G18 woes. Yes I have had issues with the hammer in mine as well as selector switch. I think it is dependant on how often you use full auto, especially if mag dumping. Used mine in a carbine kit quite a bit so it got some abuse.

      I'm the same, primarily use a g19x now as my sidearm of choice when running an AR or other assault style replica. Like the G series above all others, just really good to use. Couple of G17's and they are great. If you do look at any others and like the G series I can definitely recommend a 19x.

    What if my magazine is leaking from the top?
    As soon as I put gas into one of mine, it immediately comes out the top.
    It’s the WE version of the one in the video I believe

      The knocker valve at the back could be sticking, this would be holding the valve open in a sense. Best bet is to give it a good oil, let it seep in then try again. If not then you may need to remove it and check it out. Hope this helps.

    My magazine leaks from the square hole on the top next to the feed lips. I changed out the o rings on the brass valve but no change. Where can it be leaking out the top and how can it be fixed?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před měsícem

      Hi. It sounds like your knocker valve is partially open. This could be due to it having failed or sticking. This is the "button" at the rear of the magazine and is responsible for letting gas out of the mag through the square hole you describe and into the replica. Try lubricating it, if this doesn't work then replace it. They are usually fairly affordable and it's an easy job.
      Hope this helps.

  • @CheesecakeJelloOnMyOrifice

    I bought a jag arms GM5, and when I put green gas in it green gas spills everywhere. Like there’s no leaking, it’s just that green gas goes into the mag but a lot of not more leaks out all over my hands and mag. What’s the problem? I’m trying to do everything correctly

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před rokem +2

      A few things can cause this. Firstly you say that your filling it correctly so we can rule that out. Secondly some fill valves and bottles of green gas can be a bit inconsistent so that one brand of gg will fill it with no leaks and another has a slightly wider tube and so doesn't seal up perfectly. That would mean you have to get it perfectly straight. Thirdly you may have air trapped in the mag. You can sort this by pressing in the release valve or knocker valve and putting the gas in, this is for a second or two then release the knocker valve which should purge any air locks in the reservoir.
      Hope this helps

    I just purchased a raven eu 18 and when I tried to fill it up it immediately leaks back out of the valve I don’t think it is the seal I think it’s the valve how do I fix this?

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před rokem +1

      Sorry to hear about your mag problems. I've had a few hit and miss adventures with Raven magazines myself. I take it its leaking from the bottom of the mag not the top? If it's coming from the bottom then the most common fault is the large o ring around the inside of the mag base. Greasing this up will normally solve the problem. If its definitely not this then the fill valve maybe faulty or the small oring on it may have gone dry. The fill valve on the base of the mag just unscrews. Now the best way is with a valve removal tool, they are between £4 to £8 normally. Otherwise if your very careful you can unscrew it with a flat head screw driver just take care you don't push down to hard when you do it. Once it's out give it a good going over with silicone oil and a bit of silicone grease on the o ring. If that doesn't fix it then you will need to replace the valve, again you can get raven ones for not a lot.
      Having said all that, if it's brand new your supplier should replace the mag or the whole lot as defective. Might be worth checking with them.
      Hope this helps.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před 2 lety

      Well dependant on the brand of mag you may be able to get a specific o ring from your regular airsoft supplier. However I tend to buy o ring multipacks from hardware stores and motor parts suppliers, such as halfords here in the UK. They are usually cheap for loads of sizes and will usually have one that you need plus spares. I hope this helps.

      @rockbottomairsoft  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, you can buy new orings from most Airsoft parts suppliers if you want official ones. As in ones specifically for your magazines. However I have a selection of orings I purchased from a hardware store, I can usually find one to fit and they are much cheaper.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před 2 lety +1

      If I'm understanding the leak correctly does it vent all the gas from the top of the mag. If this is the case you will notice that next to the feed lips there is a big rubber washer/gasket. This is the outlet port of the mag and I suspect may be leaking off some of the gas. You also have a knocker valve on the reverse of the mag which let's the gas out, this also has an o ring on it or may be sticking. Check both. If they are dry but usable give them a grease with silicone grease. If they are ripped then replace and grease.
      I hope this helps.

    • @rockbottomairsoft
      @rockbottomairsoft  Před 2 lety

      It could be on rare occasions due to the gas your using. But this is not very common. I have had occasions where venting can be due to cold weather as well. If you've only had it 2 days the best bet is to have a chat with the retailer and get it replaced. Saves having to take the whole pistol apart. If the mag is gas tight it could be due to lite striking or any number of issues.
