Being shorter doesn’t make a character a less efficient/effective soldier. I think this a huge echo chamber nitpick across the toy community. I don’t mind variety in my figure scales. Not everyone needs to be the same height.
I don't mind the shorter male figure, I know some super tough Marines that are short and can take down people more than twice their size, but those colors...YIKES!!! The should have kept the dark green/gunmetal grey scheme throughout the figure, maybe with hints of a deeper cobalt blue as accents. This set will definitely be useful for the helmets, guns/effects etc. I think the secondary helmet looks the best. It definitely gives off major Halo vibes, fitting with the futuristic but grounded military aesthetics.
I think the different sizes in Classified are one of the best parts of the line. Tons of variation, tons of unique leg and torso sculpts to pull from at this point. I don't see this as an issue, there's already a wide variety of heights. The colors are based off the original figure, I like them but that's just a function of growing up with Joes I am sure lol. I prefer it without the shoulder armor, it is bulky...but that's also not inaccurate. Forward crunch is decent with that secondary being so bulky, and you can work that a bit more; backwards lean to me isn't really impacted at all. With a lot of the Joe figures you have to work on the waist to unlock it, but I bet with a little repetition you can get a bit more action out of it. Female has a diaphragm, all the Joe female figs have that. This is definitely a way for them to get some money out of their older molds, but that to me isn't an issue. I think this is the right pack to utilize those parts. Def not essential, but it's good for those of us who have an attachment to this aesthetic already.
The original '82 JUMP had the same number stenciled (stickered) on the back. The blueprints called it the Jet Propulsion Unit, so I'm thinking that's part of it. Maybe the "81" is the year it was made (so the '82 release was a year-old model?) As for G-P, my only guess is that it's the common military term for General Purpose which they'd use to label things like tents, first aid kits or, in my Navy days, cleaning spray.

I was not a big fan of The Steel Brigade as 4inch figures ... but seeing the male is a bit chunky and the female has single jointed elbows my reaction was, as Mr Horse would say: "no sir I don't like it" ie: a bit disappointed. So I cancelled my set on Amazon and will save my bucks for better figures.
in the UK in the 1980's Action Force was it's own unique toyline with Red Shadows as the enemy , it later used some repainted gi joe figures and vehicles , but also created it's own vehicles such as the Roboskull, after Palitoy was taken over Hasbro started to release gijoes under the the Action Force name, intresting enough the AF vehicles were still used but with cobra stickers, recolour etc making UK/Europe items unique
The Action Force Steele Brigade is the better figure imo, and the articulation with the Action Force figure is better especially when you take off the vest.
There's some proportion issues with the male figure. The first head is a tad too small. It sits too low on the neck. Those shoulder pads make the figure look more squatty because it widens the upper torso. Just too much going on up top. The female is definitely the better looking figure. If these figures would have been released last year, I think people would have been a little happier with them, but now that we're getting really well done figures like Snow Job and Low Light, these Steel Corps feel outdated. I only ordered one set, but I may pick up a few more, especially if there's a sale. From what I've sen, collectors all seem a little meh about them.
Shame on Hasbro for using bad wave 1 parts...SE legs should only be used for SE (not like they aren't making a ton of them) and those Scarlett arms should have never been reused. Thanks for the size comparisons
The only problem I have with the Action Force Steel Brigade troops is that their helmet heads are too small whereas the Steel Corps have more appropriate sized helmets that would look to fit over a “real”human (action figure) head. AF heads look to be the size of a human head without a helmet.

The SNAKE EYES is the COMMANDO version but the RETRO SNAKE EYES is taller than the COMMANDO as he uses the STALKER BODY mainly. #4. Figures are non comparable since they depict different characters. If you want a more classic look, remove the shoulder armor. If you want them to look modern and/or more bulky, attach the shoulder armor. These are options given that we should welcome.
The figures are shorter but I don't think they are terribly shorter. I like variation in heights with my figures so that's not a problem for me. My biggest gripe is the female using single jointed elbows and warped effects/weapons. Hasbro needs to improve the quality of their plastic there. As far as colors and design, I prefer the Classified figure over the action force figure. I think the colors pop more and definitely better articulation. The helmet is much cooler, especially the one with the black visor. Love the jetpacks
Good review. For the male figure, I ended up swapping out the legs with the TF Outback legs and using the same boots. Adds some height and looks much better. I'd have to disagree with ya on the Action Force figure. Not a fan of Action Force other than the Bone Collector figure.
My only gripes with the set are the female arm joints are awful and limited and the male legs make them look shorter compared to most of the Joes. I wish they'd gotten the double arm joints and used Grunt's legs instead of Snake Eyes
I never had these as a kid so I dont have any connection to them. But these are an easy pass. The colors, bulky armor, ugly helmet just dont work with these. A wash on the arnor would really help a lot of classifieds. Not sure why thats not included with the paint apps.
These are probably the worse classified figures so far! If you’re going to go reuse why not go pin less or if not why not just use both the upper and lower body of the Commando Snake Eyes? Such a silly decision! The only redeeming thing about this set are the accessories. I’ll be waiting for a sale!
I love the figure. I’m a professional artist and it kills me to see such hideous colors on figures look at the vala verse hornet troopers or whatever the neons with gold is so ugly. These almost pastel and khaki colors look great to me.

The hands on my female figure are complete garbage. She can’t hold any of the weapons properly or at all. Not sure what Hasbro was doing but these are the worst hands on a female figure I’ve ever seen in this line.
I don't think the height is that big a deal, people are different heights and it's not like he's miniscule or out of scale. My bigger issue is the female trooper having the hold single hinged elbows. Just... really? When even Marvel Legends are trying to phase those out, and when the majority of female Classified figures don't have them, they bring them back for a figure *packed in* with a male version who doesn't have them, like they're *trying* to draw attention to how bad it is that they're still using them.
To bad Joe fans are sadly admitting that the Action force version is far superior than the Hasbro one. I find amusing that the fanboys are having a hard time supporting this 2 pack. In the eyes of the many, these Corps figures are a disappointment

I strongly prefer the helmet and colors on the Classified Steel Corps to the VV version, but both are quality figures
