If we had an "Energy Secretary" worth their pay we would have free energy and be completely energy independent. This is the real science but govt../military/corporate interests constantly prevent it from happening. I was an energy researcher/scientist for 45+ years and am alive only because of what I know. Most have been murdered/disappeared for trying to offer such technologies to the world. Some have been friends and collegues of mine. The DOD and DOE are major players in insuring that such information and technologies remain sequestered. Do you think that its right to control progress to such an extent? We could literally pave our streets with gold and feed every being on the planet just to start with so, who is really controlling this planet Mr Hawley? Do you know?
It is sad that those who want ethics rules followed are short of individuals to vote for those ethics. Republicans are where most of these reports come from, but there are not enough of them to bring those who break those rules to task. DOJ belongs to Biden, so nothing happens.
Seriously, there are always a way around the law. Traitors will make one if they can’t find one.

Well the lawmakers don't get in trouble for violating the laws and they are the ones who create law as well. So they certainly won't use their conflict of interest to pass a law that violates their own self interest of profit. So until Congress actually passes the law to insider trading and actually prosecute the people who violate the law beyond the "community service and say you're sorry", this is nothing more than political theater by Senator Hawley.
