- We are finally putting in window trim and it absolutely transforms the look of my fixer upper house!! I hope you love it as much as I do!
Hey there! My name is Abby and I recently bought a MAJOR fixer upper house. I am SO excited to work on fixing it up this old house and turning it into my dream home. I can't wait to take you on this journey with me! I am planning to DIY as much as I can and learn so much about home renovations along the way. I am starting out totally clueless so I am sure it will be a grand adventure! Yuuup !! Jay is his name and I have been following along since the beginning !! Jay has taught Abby, SO MUCH in the refurbishing of her house, I can only say, he is a scholar and a gentleman !! Certainly VERY qualified !!

That trim is gorgeous. I'm such a Mom - after you finished staining and went to the end shot - I was screaming in my head, "Get that sweating plastic cup off the freshly done window sill"!. LOL. Big hugs from Maine.
I agree and I'm saying, "Wipe sanded boards with tack cloth" and "Stir that stain often".

That extra trim piece on the outside is extra work but it sure sets the window out as if a frame. Good job

I'm tearing up a bit seeing the new windows framed out and the finished walls in the bay. I remember you putting Christmas 'trees' up in that bay the last few years, even as rough as it was that first Christmas when it was trimmed branches stuck in a bucket! I do like the straight across pieces rather than the angle cuts. I think we probably grew fancy later so the straight is typical of the era of the house 😅
Can't believe how things are coming together inside and out! The trim is lovely and after the trim and flooring is in, you're down to water and electrical!!! I think Jay will miss you and this adventure when you get moved in!! Looking forward to the final touches!!!❤...sending love from Ohio!!!!!😊

Abby, the windows are beautiful. If you sand and stain the boards before Jay cuts them, you can do that outside. The mess will be out of your house. Plus sanding and staining long boards would be much easier. 😊
....especially if you make yourself 2 (or 3) simple sawhorses to support the timber whilst you stain. It will avoid you having a back ache.

This trim was such a great design idea. I agree with everyone else that says Jay is a gem! He reminds me of my older brother who is a retired painter with the patience and eye for detail. Your home is looking beautiful.

I can even see little electric candles on the window sills and the whole living room lit with the golden glow…..and even better, your holiday guests will be met with the view through the picture window facing the balcony by the front door. I think stain color is beautiful. It definitely goes with your style. I also like the different window wood trim. That extra detail looks just so nice.

Bay window looks stunning Abby. Like the little touch of trim around the window casing. Never seen that done before but I love it. Good chose of stain for the wood, looks good with the white walls. Also prefer stain over painted trim, it feels more of a country style home. Great work Abby & Jay !! 😊😊
I don't understand why the middle window is different than the other two windows. It looks really odd to me.

You know I have always prayed about EVERYTHING,,,,EVERYTHING,,,,and I may have to wait for an answer ,but; I always find things are not so difficult to make a decision about when I PRAY, that means I don't have to wring my hands about decisions. However, I guess that would not make a very good video for people to keep coming back to. The windows look amazing Jay.
