Up until today, DKDK is still my fave fromis_9 song 😭 there's something magical to it that everytime i hear this song i feel like i'm hearing it for the first time again
Wow…I still listen to these songs but it’s been awhile since I’ve seen the mv’s. It’s crazy how much they’ve changed but they still manage to keep the Fromis sound in most of their newer stuff.
They were formed from a survival show called Idol School hence the school girl concept. The name comes from combining “From Idol School…Fromis_9

Fromis_9 groupname is made from like the word "From Idol School" which was the survival show they were formed from and Promise is "to keep their promise [to viewers] to be the best girl group".

Couple of fun facts:
- Gyuri (the one playing the violin in To Heart, and sadly, the one who left the group) actually knows how to play the violin, so her technique is accurate, contrary to how sometimes movies portray a violin being played
- Hayoung despite being incredibly adorable, is skilled in hip-hop dancing, I suggest you look for those clips, she's day and night when she sings and when she dances, and I love her for that

OMGGGG I'm so glad you guys are loving them. They are really adorable and sweet and they got better with each comeback. You two stopped at the right point because if you were tearing up on DKDK, you would definitely have cried on listening to Love Bomb. Not that the song is sad or something like it, but the production gets so mellow at some point that literally makes you wanna cry out of nowhere. fromis_9 always sings from their hearts, that's why even if they sing an upbeat song they will pull your hearts strings
I found this group back in 2017 about two weeks after their first video dropped and have stanned them since. They have been building and building with each comeback, but the Covid era has restricted their exposure like most groups. They never disappoint from day one and you will fall in love with them. Flover forever.
They "graduated" from Idol School, hence the school concept at debut for Glass Shoes and To.Heart. Dkdk was the era I fell in love with the group and became a flover, Gyuri was doing Produce 48 so she wasn't in DKDK but they did a ot9 dance with her in it. HEHE loving that you guys are enjoying the deep dive. All their songs have feel good sounds, which is fitting since they do have a song called Feel Good 🥰
Every Fromis title is great. To Heart is my personal favorite. Next up is Love Bomb, and you're in for a real treat with that one.

The mv version with the choreography of Glass Shoes is much more simple then the actual choreo for it which is more details and more happening but the simple one is cute~
Awww I remember yall watching Fromis9's Escape Room and having Hayoung and Chaeyoung catch your attention. I see that that has continued from menow to this as well lol. I'm glad you're enjoying them! They do maintain an overall cheerful and peppy trend with their songs, only to be contrasted by their more mature bsides (at least recently). So excited to see yall check them out!

YESSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR U GUYS TO DO A FROMIS REACTION
idk how much you know abt them but basically this group was formed with trainees that did not have an agency or not trained at all through a survival show called idol school (fromis is from IS = Idol School). So unlike any other group, they really didnt train together until they were formed. Some of them though like jiwon, seoyeon, saerom and chaeyoung are already training as an idol before joining the show. So for their debut they are school themed because they are from Idol School.
Seoyeon is good at rapping because she trained in YG ent and was supposed to debut as a member of future 2en1 until that was scrapped but shes actually a really good dancer and vocalist as well. She also composes and write songs.
Jiwon trained at JYP (Chaeyoung did too for some time) along with the members of TWICE and she competed in SIXTEEN but didn't make it in TWICE.
Gyuri (my bias) left the group to pursue her acting career (she's gonna be playing a main role in an upcoming drama season 2 of Player)

The first video is indeed very uniform/school aesthetic because the group was formed in a show called Idol School, that was a predebut single.
I hope one day you guys do a deep dive on Loona. They are such a great group with fantastic lore. It would be a really big task with over 30 mv's even before they actually debut but all the girls single MV's are great in their own way.
i could be wrong, but i think they've said that they're already Loona fans. They mentioned in while watching Queendom 2.

Been a hardcore flover since I first saw Gyuri on PD48 & decided I needed to know more about her group. And tbh I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve never heard them referred to as FroMess but it’s so perfectly on brand!
I tend to go with chaotic_9 & braincell_1 but yours works!
to be honest fromi discography is amazing, fresh songs and amazing pretty girls.

This should be fairly obvious (considering the group name and given the fact that you have a cheat sheet), but the group had 9 members up until their most recent MeNow comeback. The one who left to focus on her acting career is Gyuri. She was the face of the group and arguably their most popular member. You probably already know this, but you've never made any mention of her so I'm not sure.

fromis_9’s main vocalist is actually Jiwon! Their lead vocalists are Hayoung and formerly Gyuri, but Nagyung is def a contender for a lead vocalist in the group.
Fun fact: me now was released exactly 5 years after dkdk and those are their only MVs without Gyuri. Them running down the landing strip in me now is a direct callback from them running in the dkdk MV
