Well, it's heavily based upon such intros as 20th Century Fox's and the THX sound thing that was _huuuge_ in the early 90s. But I agree, despite or perhaps even because of its obvious inspiration, it really is the best opening stinger to any game that I can think of, even after all these years
Dude.....that first 10 seconds is everything for me with it ending in 1995. My childhood wasn't the happiest.....but the sounds of video games and the time spent drowning my problems in them just really makes me happy that the 90's came about.
@@IronEddie13 I maxed out on 99 lives before getting to the much more challenging levels should give me enough time to practise the patterns of these hard levels
bongblaze I played these games as a child and last I played them was maybe like 6 years ago ...I’m 31 ... I have never ! beaten 3 so tell me how that goes for you lol
0:00 - 0:10 IS. SO. EPIC!! I remember that intro from when I was a kid and it left me speechless then AND now....and then the glowing treasure chest title screen. All that win and the game DIDN'T EVEN START YET!
This vould earsily be my favorite single player game of alltime. I mean, I know that it technically has a "multiple" mode, but only one person plays at a time. Anyway, one of the greatest vieeo games ever to exist.
O mais incrível dessa composição é que ela representa total a atmosfera do game, as melodias agudas representam os macaquinhos e a mais grave representa os crocodilos, genial!!!
SAAAAAAAAAME (sorry, I was twelve years late.) I 100% agree! All of the DKC games are great, but DKC2 is the best of the bunch. What did you think of Retro's DKC games and DK64?
This makes soooo nostalgic. I mean, look at this intro with the rareware logo. You see that first time and know this will be a epic game. Its like a hollywoodfilm intro.
I knew I heard this theme from somewhere.... It's from the movie, Hook (1991), conducted by the ever-so-famous John Williams. Search "Hook Soundtrack - Prologue". Listen to the beginning with your speakers turned up a little louder, and you can see where this Intro gets its ideas from. DKC 2 Intro is great in its own right however. Great childhood memories from both respective titles. I can see this DKC 2 Intro is just different enough that there weren't any copyright issues.
happyrules22 YEAH! I was listening to the Hook soundtrack and immediately paired the two songs as well. Spot on. Here's the link for anyone else interested:czcams.com/video/ip-ubq5HwpY/video.html
This intro with the Rare symbol being built is a bundle of three leitmotifs (possibly more, lol). So there's Hook Prologue as you pointed out, but one of the first melodies of DK Rescued (end credits) also shares a main beat. And the percussion in the background is used during that segment where DK gets dragged up out of Castle Keep.
That rare logo and nintendo logo with the music blasting... at night time on a saturday with all the lights turned off and a glowing television. God damn the nostalgia...
This game has a visual and aural charm that has certainly been surpassed in terms of technical power, but has never really been outdated. This was prettier than anything the N64 did, and its charm continues to this day
I've played 1, 2 and 3, and my memories from DKC2 are kinna of scary, maybe cuz of the sound track. I'd choose 3 instead of 2, anyway this is part of my childhood and I'll never forget it. DK
I just played this when I was recording a video on Facebook messenger mobile of me showing that I received my Elgato Capture card in the mail to a friend.
from mario, dk, sonic, and mortal kombat, through spyro, metal gear solid, and goldeneye, through age of empires and halo, to crysis and napoleon tw i have loved each game for a what it is, each shaped by the technology and culture of the era as well as the soundtracks and innovations. if i was alive when space invaders came out im sure i would have blown my load at that. however i start new games with so much expectation and demands as an adult that i forget the simple joy of games like this
Espchally the very last picture of Dixie & Diddy sitting on a rock watching the sunset & the K. Rool island sink into the water at the very end of the game. I think that's my fav DKC pic ever!
@Jelley0 man i was born just in time :D i never really had a nintendo but the super nintendo was all i ever wanted at that time :D DK series, MK series, Super Mario World and the Bros series, Super Metroid, Super Castlevania, Killer Instinct....what more could you want!
Ah, memories.. Used to play this on my Super Nintendo, wich i still have. Pity though i dont have the game anymore. Maybe i should get snes and play it again..
Oh, really? Well, I shouldn't argue. I was only 1 year old when this came out, so I don't know alot about it, probably will LP it after I finish DKC 1!
You can find the whole set of 1-3 on ebay for under $5 as well as each individual one for under $3 even. ;) Just looked myself, though I already have them on my SNES.
People talk so much about graphics and "hardware power", what about that? So you can have movies like beyond two souls? This game was awesome, and many of us come here JUST FOR THE INTRO!! This game is better than the whole current generation shit games.
Best 11 second intro tune ever made.
The exciting first gloriuous rising synth combined with baseline that i dont think has EVER been replicated.
Well, it's heavily based upon such intros as 20th Century Fox's and the THX sound thing that was _huuuge_ in the early 90s. But I agree, despite or perhaps even because of its obvious inspiration, it really is the best opening stinger to any game that I can think of, even after all these years

Same here, friend. The only difference is that I was doing it in the '00's when I was a kid.
I feel you man. Somehow that fan-fare still has this effect on me. It feels like coming home.
So true
Look at this and DARE to tell me games back then weren't epic, BECAUSE THEY WERE!!! Even the freaking logo was epic!!!
+ZilkenianDagger ikr. this is my favorite game of all time.
Zilkenian my sister and I played that game when I was little at gram's place
That logo is so nostalgic
True
Dude but call of duty, minecraft and fortnite
this game is hard af
Practice makes perfect my friend
@@IronEddie13 I maxed out on 99 lives before getting to the much more challenging levels should give me enough time to practise the patterns of these hard levels
Cue stickerbrush symphony
@bongblaze Good luck man, you'll make it! (your username is fuckin' lit btw)
bongblaze I played these games as a child and last I played them was maybe like 6 years ago ...I’m 31 ... I have never ! beaten 3 so tell me how that goes for you lol
The Best Donkey Kong Country game of the trilogy
Undoubtedly, one of the best intros in game history.
the pre-title screen theme still sends chills down my spine. I remember the classic days!
Still the best Donkey Kong, literally a masterpiece.
DKC 2 music and even the Rareware music, brings so many nice Memories
Played this last night on the SNES. No matter how good games are these days graphics-wise, they can never top the brilliant games of our childhoods :)
I just went on a feel trip
0:00 - 0:10 IS. SO. EPIC!! I remember that intro from when I was a kid and it left me speechless then AND now....and then the glowing treasure chest title screen. All that win and the game DIDN'T EVEN START YET!
100% agree. This is the most iconic opening for me!
Still pops in my head to this day
It’s 1997 and you’ve blown into the cartridge for the 50th and this comes on the screen🎉😂😂❤❤❤
Ese sentimiento de aventura que se siente es increíble.
10 year old me was so happy then...
The theme music of my childhood 👏🏻
John Willians - Hook Theme
The name of the game was Quality before it became Money.
This rings even more true today on December, 21st, 2020.
If someone reads this many years down the road, let's hope things have changed.
It's me again. The nostalgia is intense, even in 2024.
Game: Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy's Kong Quest
Year Released: 1995
Anyone who you ever ask will say this is the best between 1 and 3
Best intro music ever ❤
This vould earsily be my favorite single player game of alltime. I mean, I know that it technically has a "multiple" mode, but only one person plays at a time. Anyway, one of the greatest vieeo games ever to exist.
Highly Agree! 👍🏼 Still remains one of my favorites as well and definitely my favorite DK game out there.
Nostalgia fantástica.
my god this brings memories.... almost like i wanna cry for the time that's flewn away
Relatable??????
This game came out in 1995,this is like if dad has returned home with milk in 2022
Brasil ?!
this is the best of DK Series
Obra maestra
I agree! I think DKC2 had some of the best pictures and graphics of the series, it's my favorite one! :)
SAAAAAAAAAME (sorry, I was twelve years late.)
I 100% agree! All of the DKC games are great, but DKC2 is the best of the bunch. What did you think of Retro's DKC games and DK64?

it is so so nice feeling to see your video. This game was my favorite before 10 years + . Thank you
My favorite game on the snes. Best dkc game imo. It perfected everything that was already good from the original. Great times! 👍
Pure magic. Memories pirates
This intro would turn me into a monkey in the sea arghhhhh
I knew I heard this theme from somewhere....

MarkZah Yeah true i like it
Holy shit you're right!!!
Makes sense considering the fantastic, Neverland-like locations (as well as the pirate theme) of DKC2
This intro with the Rare symbol being built is a bundle of three leitmotifs (possibly more, lol). Excellent video.
@Jelley0 I'm 13, and I grew up with the GBA ports of the DKC games. Simply epic.
This game brings back so much memories, my first time playing this game was 18 years ago when I was 5 years old, and I really miss the 2000s so much
Excelente intro.
Awesome video man! I'm sooo adding this too my Rareware playlist...
I slightly cursed in my mind when Dixie missed the DK barrel.
That rare logo and nintendo logo with the music blasting... at night time on a saturday with all the lights turned off and a glowing television. God damn the nostalgia...
100 years later
The good old 90's games including this awesome game. Good times, gooood tiiiimes. :)
Great video!!
This intro is cooler than the first one
:14 seconds I always thought daddy's face was flat. It's just the shadow and I only noticed this 20 years later
This game has a visual and aural charm that has certainly been surpassed in terms of technical power, but has never really been outdated. This was prettier than anything the N64 did, and its charm continues to this day
I remember hearing this when i got my SNES on 2008(3 at the time)
I've played 1, 2 and 3, and my memories from DKC2 are kinna of scary, maybe cuz of the sound track.
I'd choose 3 instead of 2, anyway this is part of my childhood and I'll never forget it.
DK
Feels good man
One of the best intros and aslo one of the best games
LOL I always wondered why Dixie didn't just save Diddy from the barrels?
Either way listening to this just.... wow man my childhood
These just reminds me of everything going on in my life back then as a kid the good oldays
This game is, in my opinion, the best game ever.
It's so much fun!
My thoughts exact. Those were the days.
Wow, the Odyssey doesn't fuck around
I mean, this is what you call a gun! I mean look at it, it's gun! It's a fucking rifle!
Aww nostalgia strikes again! =)
Does this bring back memories or what? :D This was always my favorite of the 3 DKCs.
I loved Dixie Kong! Her helicopter spin kicked butt!
0:00 to 0:10 Amazing intro!!
best game ever for SNES i spent hours on this game wen i was 12 years old i loved it
I love that Rareware intro screen... I want a video tutorial on how to recreate that.
You're maybe right, but I think they wanted to make it so that could be read in 2 ways-this, and Diddy's conquest.
Gave me the chills
best game intro ever
Ya con casi 5 años lo jugaba xD (era 2007) jajaja con esa edad ya sabía usar una consola y leer. Que buenos tiempos
I just played this when I was recording a video on Facebook messenger mobile of me showing that I received my Elgato Capture card in the mail to a friend.
Came from troydan

now that u mention it does sound like the soundtrack 2 hook
I played all three of them and the new one :D
Yeah, I hope i can unlock that scene soon!
Nintendo studio sessions had to be fire back then.
I can rap over these beats
Ah, memories.. Used to play this on my Super Nintendo, wich i still have. Pity though i dont have the game anymore. Maybe i should get snes and play it again..
i still remember that i had this game for my GameBoy
great times
Oh, really? Well, I shouldn't argue. I was only 1 year old when this came out, so I don't know alot about it, probably will LP it after I finish DKC 1!
Best version
Feel like Sunday football 🏈 😆 well getting closer to it now
I can't believe I still haven't beat this game...
I can't if I got myself high or was it the music
@cfalconforever Yeah it sounds awkward at first, but it's a play on Diddy's Conquest -- so it's Kong Quest. Get it?
Where is that open song starting at 0:01 - 0:10 from? I know I've heard it from somewhere...
i alway think of this music when in peril :)
Memories...
You can find the whole set of 1-3 on ebay for under $5 as well as each individual one for under $3 even. ;) Just looked myself, though I already have them on my SNES.
Best Game of the trilogy.
I got goosebumps.
People talk so much about graphics and "hardware power", what about that? So you can have movies like beyond two souls? This game was awesome, and many of us come here JUST FOR THE INTRO!! This game is better than the whole current generation shit games.
Yes
I've never seen this opening before were dixie was in the demo instead of diddy
I Need The MIDI Of This Intro Song
Who Has It?
I MISS PLAYING THIS
