Great job! It looks very professional and cleanly done. I like how you teach and I like the fact that you show your mistakes. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for showing how to make a cuff with jersey material.
I've been sewing for 15 years & since I hardly ever work with stretch fabrics making a cuff was a skill I never picked up. But now I know and I've used it on two projects now.
+Gabi Aw, you're so welcome! :D
I just learned this. If you want to determine where to put the underarm on your pattern, you measure straight from the top of your shoulder down to where you want your under arm. On your pattern, you measure straight down, draw a line straight across and then use the French curve for your armhole. I've learned so much from you, I thought I'd share this with you. It's a cute top by the way.
+Penney Burgess Thank you!!! :D That's really helpful. I appreciate you sharing tips with me! :)
Okay judge me not but it's kind of cool because I've always felt too big to wear crop tops but we have the exact same measurements and they look great on you!
crop tops look awesome on any body ;) I hope you wear them now with pride (and let that little tummy say hi to the world!)
It's so about confidence. I feel like I can't wear one because I'm too small. These are, unfortunately, things we put on ourselves because of the ridiculous beauty standards we are shown from a young age.
Clara I-M omggggg trueeee lmao
Annika, im so happy for this video, this means you are felling better. I send you a big big hug!! One that gets all your pieces together!
+MelissaGo. Awww, thank you so much!!! :D I love big hugs! xx
you deserve way more subscribers
Agreed I'm not interested in sewing myself but I LOVE watching Annika make things:))
Sewing has never been the same since my partner got me a walking foot for my machine. It's like magic!
Awesome tutorial, as always!
Hey Annika, you should try use white soap to draw on your fabrics, it goes súper easy with water, this doesn't ruin or smudge your fabric as the chalk does. Grandma tip.
+Clarissa Von Strauss thank you :) I have tried using soap before and it grosses me out for some reason (I know that doesn't make sense because it's soap. it's clean. haha) so I like using chalk better -- just because of my weirdness with soap haha.
I just made this and it turned out so well!
I used a fabric that was not quite as stretchy and I also didn't want my top to be super tight at the bottom, so I adjusted to make the measurements slightly larger and voila! It turned out very well. I've only sown a few simple things such as pillows and dog clothes, so this came out better than expected! Everyone should give it a try!
your channel is now my favorite ! i regret not knowing it earlier
this is the first time that I make my one clothe and with this video was so easy. thank you so much you're amazing
When I saw you doing the turtle neck part for the top my first thought was “ooohhhhh it’s like a waistband for your neck”
I used this DIY for a school assignment and I totally love it! You explain your steps so well and the end result was pretty cool!
You must learn patience so well through this haha I applaud you
THANK YOU! I was looking for a way to upcycle this type of top for weeks now! Really glad you posted this, hugs from Brasil.
I know this video is old, but thank you so much for your videos & tutorials!! I've referenced this video multiple time in the past when I need to sew something with a similar shape and its been super helpful. You teach so clearly and easily and I love all the work you put into your content
the whole punching idea is such a good idea!!! great video... can't wait to try it!
This was a very nicely done tutorial. This is the first really clear tutorial I've seen on how to do arm holes. It is basically the same as the neckline. Before seeing this video I was afraid to do the arm hole the same, but now I realize it works the same. Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I like the top a lot and will make a longer version of it. :)
Your are good at sewing and making your own stuff
Now I can sew my own high neck top thank you so much 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
binge watching all your videos. love them all
This was so easy to understand way better than any other sewing tutorials
Awesome I love how easy u make the instructions u use!!!!😄😄
That would look amazing with your square skirt!
This is the most educational and well done video for making a top like this, I've been looking everywhere. I'm so glad i subscribed to you. I love youuuuuu aaaghhhh!
Imagine fold over elastic on this....... I think it'd be so adorable!
Madi Havens SW make it, instagram it, lemmie see haha
Thankyou! Ive been searching for a top like this and they all look so hard when you do it you make it so simple!
I almost screamed when I saw your video. So glad you feel better now 💙💚
Can someone tell me please how to write the 'neck couf' thing? As I googled this way it doesn't seem to be this word xD thank you :) ( I'm non-native and I try to improve my English every single ways :D)
+VickeyHungary i believe she's using the word "cuff".
+Audrey Ressler Thank you so much 💚💛
+VickeyHungary Thank you! If you're ever confused about the spelling of a word I'm using, you can switch on English subtitles, because I caption all of my videos :)
Like the way you join the collar and armholes! Thanks for the tips!
Watching your videos makes me so sad that my sewing machine is broken :-((( And also a massive thank you for showing me (and so many others) that ethical fashion isn't difficult to attain or necessarily unfashionable! Keep up the good work ;)
+emble :D :D :D You're so welcome!
I personally would have made the shirt out of the gray fabric and then used the black fabric for the cuffs. I probably would have then gotten a t-shirt transfer and put a daisy on the shirt.
But this looks really cool and I'm so glad to be a subscriber to your channel! Your videos are so cool!
Thank you for this video ! Thanks to you, I now have a cute floral crop top :)
you should include how long it normally takes you to do the process. (or maybe not since you're filming) unless you're doing it for the second time
It says in the description :)
+Florence bm oh dear. thank you!
I did, at the end of the video and I've also started including it in the description box too :)
Oh, maybe someone else already replied haha sorry if they did, my mobile is making the comments section all weird!
I should've checked before I asked. Thank you though!
I doubt I'm ever going to make this exact crop top but your techniques on working with jersey fabric will definitely be used!
I've been waiting for a tutorial on making one of these! I love these tops, so it's going to be great to make my own!
Yaay!!!
Your channel has become MY LIFE.
+star neko So, I've recently learned a bit more about sewing - and I was wondering how much fabric would be necessary for this project? :)
+star neko I just successfully made this today after watching this video about 20 times. First time with jersey, second time making something, no walking foot, and it came out great! I'm really proud & I love it. Maaaany thanks for posting this video.
Look at you!! Getting over your fear of stretch fabrics :D
Hi! i'm from Chile (southamerica) and i love your channel!! it's so amazing and the fact that you add spanish subs it's incredible
I've only sewed once but for some reason I'm in love with your videos ❤️
I have a bunch of spare jersey stretch and now I know what to do with it!
Omg i needed this for a shirt pattern i copied! I didn't know how to add a neckline nor sleeves. Thank you so much! I love your videos!
I love your videos so much. Your editing is so clean and lively that I love to watch and you always give just the right amount of detail.
Hey Annika ! :)
YOU'RE BACK!!
Ahh this is awesome! Gonna make a few for my mates, I reckon! :) xx Thanks so much for this video!
YAS YOUR BACK I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH 😍
I was really confused when you said "your back" haha. The correct word is you're.
oh sorry
Glad to see you back! I enjoy watching your videos. Thank you.
I love this so much! I've been wondering how to make it for a while now and this is so helpful!
So happy! Found those exact French rulers at daiso!now I own them.
I really love your videos Annika! you are so talented, and the fact that you are worried for your Latinamerican fans is amazing!
Saludos desde México.
Thank you so much for the formula for making neck and armhole cuffs! I find cuffs much easier than double folding, but have never been confident in how to cut them. I see some new shirts in my future! :)
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT IS SO EASY! OMG! I LOVED IT! Good Job ☺.
I like how you start the video straight and simple and get right into it! So sick of going to videos to hear "HEY GUYYYYSSS" and then 2 mins of rambling lmao
I absolutely love your videos. They are so clear, informative, and well done. Thanks!
this is so cute and ive been searching allll over the internet so thank you so much for this !
+Kristine Allison oh yayay! you're welcome :)
I found it awesome that when the song said "Hello?" the music just exploded as the video cut to Annika, and it was as though Annika responded "YES, HELLO THIS IS ANNIKA, BASK IN ALL MY GLORY"
thank you doll, i was so ready to toss my wardrobe but I'll just make 100x of these tops...
So cute! I'm gonna try this so I can recreate HyunA's look from Crazy!

Kim Rachel YASSS PLS
You look so good in these tops!!!
Aaaaah so excited! I have a bunch of jersey lying around at home, so I'll definitely give this a try when I'm back from Thanksgiving vacation.
I love you so much! Now I know what to do will all of my fabrics!thank you so much!
I love it, gonna try right now👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for this! Love the trick of quartering the neck and arm cuffs with pins. Very helpful. Shirts look cute on you too! :) keep it up!

YES I can't wait to make this!
What would I do without your tutorials.
This looks super cute! I think I'll make one to match my circle square shirt 😄
Hey Annika! I was wondering if you could do a video about your overlocker! Maybe like a how to or how it works with the different stitches. I'm interested in learning more about them so I can decide if I really want one or not! :) Love your videos! You are so awesome :D
I love your videos! You're so creative and talented :)
I was just about to buy one of these kinds of shirt but it would be so much better to make one !! thanks !
a little tip is when your using a sewing machine and your using a stretchy material you should use a “stretch pin”
I love your videos and I only found you a few days ago and I've seen all of them 😂
Yes! New video!
Love all of your ideas!
YAY i requested this long time ago and I am so happy
Annika, I adore your videos! You are such a darling, and you are so inspiring. Thank you for making so many wonderful things. :)
I've been wanting something like this so bad, I have to try this!
Hi Annika! Love this video. Can you please do a video about how to make jeans smaller?
voice of a walking foot is my love 😂👌🏻💕
I binged watched all your videos 50% because I am learning to sew and 50% because I couldnt put my finger on why you look so familiar. Then I found out you do science at usyd. I've seen you around class
+Caitlin Baldock omg hahaha. hi! what courses do you do?
I'll totally do this for my rose lalonde cosplay aahhhh

+Thoughtless Sophia YES DO IT. I believe in you!
that lipstick is so beautiful 😭
Aaaargh the inches make it so difficult! I have to convert to centimeters all the time... My measurements came out really weird… My final bust measurements came out bigger than my base top :p
I feel with you. xD Where are you from?
_CrafterCat_ Europe, Belgium :p But I figured it out myself and it turned out AWESOME!! I really love wearing it :)
Mathilde Cominotto okay, i'm from Europe too. I want to do it too soon. :3
Mathilde Cominotto can you help me with the centimeters?😂
I used an online converter! :p And I first drew a pattern on paper, not directly on fabric! Then I held up te pattern to my body to check if it made sense!
Thank you for easy way❤ Iwas looking for idea to reuse my shirt
You are so entertaining to watch 😄
Love it! Thank you for a tutorial that is useful!! You are amazing!!
SO GOOD AND SO HELPFUL
Very cute top--will try this, thanks!
Hey Annika! Could you please make a sewing tutorial for a wrap dress in knit fabric? (where the bodice has two overlapping pieces)
this shirt is really super cute on you
You should show how to make a shirt like this but with a peplum bottom! I think that would be super cute :)
Cool💕 you are so awesome!! You should make some sailor moon inspired 🌙
under 301 person! love your vids so much ♡
Today i asked my mother if she had some Spare fabric for me to try out this pattern (she sews a lot ^^). And then she asked me why i needed it, and I told her that I was going to recreate this shirt and wanted to test out the pattern. She told me she could also show me how to draw a pattern with right messurements without spending money. I was confused and had to explain, that i don't have to pay for informations I get on youtube and showed her your video. Then she said that she was jealous, because i didn't asked her to show me how to draw a pattern :'D
I was so excited to try this for myself! until I realized I looked like dobby the house elf. I've got no idea where I keep going wrong, but I am definitely appreciative of your talent
Excelente vídeo, muchas gracias por subtitularlo, de no haberlo hecho me habría perdido de una joya, explicas muy bien felicidades 🙌🙌🙌 tienes todo mi respeto y admiración con este vídeo
