Correct! Money was not my motivation. I wanted a powerfull sleeper convertible, & I got it. In time I decided I wanted more power, so I added the K&N with Hypertech mod to the computer. My power to weight rather is now better than the V8 & I'm still a sleeper. Not to mention, I'm faster even when I don't use the NOS 🙂

Honestly. Adding all that to a V6 may make somebody feel better. And its no doubt better for the car. And I'm sure it runs great. But if someone truly didn't care what somebody else thought, wouldn't leaving it alone convey that? I've had my 2010 2ltrs for almost a month. And yea the V8s and Challengers and Stang bro's like to rev around to show dominance. But I honestly don't care. It's got the 20 inch wheels. Its got the halo headlights. Its got the mini spoiler. And the previous owner tinted it with an eyebrow as a bonus. And im
Happy. So take what you want from that. Just drive what you like. Who cares what people think. Rad car though dude. Keep it runnin.

I am hoping to dyno tune it sometime in the future but there is at least 1 more mod I need to do before that. The biggest difference comes from the headers. Allowing the car to breather free is the most important step you can do to get power out of any engine.

I don't think you will be able to match a V8 5th gen without dropping some serious money down the tube especially if you're going after a 6th gen. I don't know much about a six cylinder just to get my SS 1LE to 650 HP is $14,000 for parts that's just for 150 HP. You'd have to get at least another 60 HP to even think about a V8 six speed and that's gonna cost some money. Plus you'd have to upgrade some other parts like maybe gearing and so on. I've seen a V6 beat a stock SS but the guy had twin turbos. I wouldn't worry about HP unless you got money to spend when it breaks down and it will. Every car V6 or V8 that has been modded has broke many times . I would just enjoy your camaro the way it is. It's running and that is all that matters. You start bringing on more HP and it will be towed. Never fails all of us would like to have more HP but sometimes it's just best to buy the car stock with more HP

    • @GregorySalvatore
      @GregorySalvatore  Před 5 lety +5

$900 for 70hp is a great deal but going beyond that would start to get expensive . The 3.91 gears will do a lot to make up for it on the street since goofing around and playing really doesn't need a top speed. On a large track the V8 would still dominate. on the strip... I need to get my 60' time down and do the math. As for the other components there are supercharged 6s running 600hp on the factory transmission. And I am not really trying to make a V8 killer, just a V8 keeper upper that is a daily LOL

So supercharger is the fastest way to get close to a V8. But cost like 6k. However if u do other mods. U can easily catch them. Because 6th Gen V8s that aren't ZL1s are 455 HP and 450Lb of Torque

The ram air systems utilize a deflector that draws air from the grill and deflects it over the radiator, bounces off the hood and rams it into the airbox. Great Question... I think I have my next video topic.

should have gotten a new engine from Jasper engines with
tronger forged aluminum JASPER-engineered pistons with a smooth, fully-machined, anodized crown, which provides a thermal barrier and reduces carbon buildup.
JASPER-engineered pistons include additional oil return holes (14 total). This increases oil drain back by 250%, or greater, to reduce oil consumption and prevent oil rings from sticking.
JASPER installs a robust two-piece 2.0mm oil ring for improved oil control. OE uses a thinner, 1.5mm, three-piece design on LFX models.
Top ring land is profiled to prevent scuffing at higher temperatures.
An additional accumulator groove is machined into the piston which decreases the pressure between the 1st and 2nd ring land and prevents the upper (compression) ring from unsealing at higher RPMs.
JASPER supplies an updated valve cover gasket in our JR set to assist in proper PCV operation and to help prevent oil consumption.
100% torque-plate honing of the engine block, utilizing a torque plate and specially-designed Grade 10 ARP head bolts. This provides a cylinder wall geometry that matches the cylinder head as a complete running assembly, for improved ring sealing.
JASPER-engineered pistons have a wider graphite coated skirt than OE to help prevent dry startup and piston scuffing.
An improved piston skirt profile provides greater stability in the cylinder bore, reducing wear, and providing better ring sealing.
JASPER’s piston has a 40% wider piston pin surface area than the original design to improve durability and promote scuff resistance.
100% installation of a set screw on the reluctor wheel, which prevents it from spinning on the crankshaft, eliminating timing/runability issues, or even crankshaft damage.
Chrome nitrided steel top rings are installed for improved durability, heat resistance, and reduced cylinder wall wear.
Thicker, fluoroelastomer polymer (FPM) coated Multi-layer Steel (MLS) head gaskets are installed to ensure superior protection against gasket leakage. Our gasket is more robust to maintain the correct compression ratio.
100% installation of NEW head bolts to ensure even clamp load.
Block and heads are resurfaced to a 50-150 Rz finish.
100% installation of NEW camshaft thrust washers, which prevents camshaft endplay and noise on early-design heads.
Crankshafts are machined and micro polished to exact tolerances for improved bearing oil clearance and reduced wear.
100% installation of NEW nitrided valves for improved heat resistance and reduced valve guide wear.
100% live-run tested to verify proper compression, vacuum, and oil pressure.
100% tested intake and exhaust cam actuators, to verify proper performance.
100% black light leak tested, to ensure the unit is leak free.
JASPER includes a fuel injection kit, which includes fuel line(s), injector seals, and a high pressure fuel sensor (on the LLT applications), this prevents fuel spray leaks that can potentially lead to a fire hazard. (PTFE Seal Installation/ Sizing Tool sold separately.)
