When they ask are you Russian you asked them 'and you are Chinese?', they won't like it😂 I am from an Eastern European country and everyone assumes I speak Russian. I wish I could speak Russian😂
because there are many Russians in Korea that there is even a Russian town. If you see white people, it's usually Russian or American. Russia and Korea have been intertwined historically too.I don't agree with the statement that asking if you're a Russian woman is like asking if you're a prostitute in Korea
I’m European. I went to seoul in 2019 and ended up in a nightclub with some other girls. I can’t even put into words how I felt. I couldn’t take a step without some random man trying to grab me, I had men put hands all over my body (obviously without my permission). Me and a friend hid in the bathroom but when we tried to leave again it turned out 5 different men had been waiting for us?? at one point someone even grabbed my arm and tried to pull me out of the club and into a taxi without even talking to me. I understand that there are stereotypes about foreign women but honestly it seems that’s more like an excuse for men to treat us with a complete lack of respect. Korea is a beautiful country and I enjoyed everything else about it, but if you’re a woman going there just be careful.
That sounds more like trafficking. They probably don’t get many foreign women on their “ledger”, wo greed was probably overwhelming enough for such behavior
People should to stop assuming that individual personality is determined by their nation's media. There are Westerners that are very conservative in relationships and there are women in the East that are down to hook-up. If I believed all Asian women were like those in K-dramas, I'd assume that they still haven't ever dated at age 35 and throw tantrums like babies when they're upset.
Thank you! I can be very open with someone I've chosen. It takes time. I'll write something very different than what might happen in real life because it works for the pacing of the story, not because I'd really do it. It's dangerous for women and femmes around the world as it is.
Oh my god 😢 I’m so sorry to hear that Russian women have this reputation in Korea 😢 I really would like to visit Korea because I like their culture, but being Russian I’m afraid of possible prejudice.. unfortunately, I had unpleasant experience in other countries too, and men don’t understand that their behavior could hurt someone
I'm also a Russian girl living in Korea for 2 years. Never had such an experience of someone asking me that question. Also, if someone asked me and I said that I'm from Russia the reaction was always fine. Even tho for some time I was a bit afraid to tell that.
@@ggerdaggThere were actually a lot of Russian girls that were trafficked in Korea in the past. It’s probably still happening today. That’s why Koreans have that perception of Russian women unfortunately. I was dragged out of the street by two drunk men asking if I was Russian one night and my friend was given money by an old man that thought she was Russian. We’re both American. If you’re a white foreigner in Korea, they’ll automatically assume you’re Russian. Korean kids on the other hand always assume foreigners are American
I live in Seoul and it's true that quite a few young guys, grown adults and elderly men have asked me if I was Russian. Before coming to Korea, I didn't mind that question because even in my homecountry of France, people always told me that I looked Polish, Russian or eastern European in general. Even Russian people ask me if I'm Russian sometimes. ^^ I'm blonde with blue eyes, and I have high cheek bones, so I get it. It's not so much the question that bothers me, it is their behavior when asking that question with heavy undertone in Korea that creeps me out. Even when I was visiting the Blue House in broad daylight with a Korean female friend, an ahjeossi came up to me, abruptly interrupted our conversation and blurted out: "Are you Russian?" with an avid look. His wife didn't look pleased at all. And before getting married, I tried meeting people while doing language exchange. I met great people there that actually wanted to learn a foreign language, but there were also foreign hunters who got handsy quickly and would try to initiate some kind of "skinship" right away, by putting their arms around me. I told them to not touch me as I know they wouldn't behave this way with Korean women. And no, I don't go to clubs and I've never used Tinder in my entire life. Those were in cafés. It was a good way to recognize the creeps. There are exceptions but, for me, what worked well was having this rule: if a guy born and raised in Korea puts a single finger on me before being in a committed relationship, he was out.
Bonjour !
Thanks for covering the topic. I wanted to clarify that it's NOT just about men in clubs! Quite a few hold that perception abt foreign women unfortunately. I lived there as a student and met a lot of foreign women- students, professionals, some with kids etc. Almost everyone had an experience with some random guy on the street/subway asking if they were "Russian". I myself was groped just minding my own business on public transportation. Other times, I just felt patronized or dismissed by Korean men in professional settings or treated like a child. Couldn't shake off that uncomfortable feeling that we are being viewed as exotic pieces of meat basically. Granted, it was a few years back so hoping things have changed. And no, it was not only negative experiences, but just wanted to highlight this, as everyone in the comments just seems to be thinking that foreign women only hang out in hongdae and itaewon at 2 am, thus perpetuating the stereotype.
Sorry but can you guys please stop to say that its rude to being ask if someone is Russian .. I mean Russia is big and very beautiful and there are a lot of russians in asian countries for example in the modelling industry so it doesnt have to mean a rude question if someone asks you if you are from russia it also can be mean as a compliment or just interest omg please behave mature
Also its normal in this country to get patronized by older people but it has nothing to do with foreigners bit only with the fact that in this country there is a high respectation to older people and they have the right here to judge youngers in rude ways... sometimes learning about cultures before moving somewhere and turn on his brain can be really helpful to survive 😊
@@thepeanuttt That's stupid and being harassed by people is NOT a part of culture anyone has to put up with. Saying and concluding, "It's part of culture to disrespect youth and ladies, respect it!" Will just give your country a bad reputation and less respect as a polite society. So- Korea is a society that gropes, assaults, and demeans foreign women- that's what you're saying. That remark at the end about learning cultures and 'turn on his brain' is so disrespectful and uninformed: when seeing that Korean men grope and stereotype Western women- you blame the Western woman and not the man doing it.
This girl at 3:00 is so right!! I didn't think about how western tv series (which are sometimes awful at portraying dates and relationships) influence people from other countries for example Asians. This is even comic how opposite the image and reality are in Western and Korea tv series. Korea is more traditional but I've heard that one night stand is common here for those who wants it. It's not so common in Russia, for example
It's interesting because Korean men know that the way Korean men in K-dramas are portrayed is not accurate, so why would they assume that the way American/Western women are portrayed in Western media is?
@user-vu6wf5fj2y it's hard to estimate with more than 100 million people, World Cup was a one-time occurrence, when foreigners were viewed the same way Korean men view foreign women - as some exotic thing, fun to have an experience with once. Between russian men and russian women one-night stands are generally frowned upon
That old stereotype about Russian( or not even Russian, but Slavic, because earlier it was easier for many people say that they are Russian than explane what is the country they are from) women is still have legs as I can see...It was after 90th when USSR fall, so many girls searched a husband in another country to relocate or some of girls really were prostitutes and went there for a work, BUT since then so many years gone and so many smart girls came there to study, to work and still. WTH?!
I think unfortunately part of it is that there are still many Slavic prostitutes in Korea because of the rate of young women who continue to move there to become models but don't achieve success. I don't doubt that there are plenty of hardworking Slavic women who just want to study and work regular jobs, though, and I hope they won't have to face judgment like this much longer!
that's really sad... i was worried if perhaps somehow russian girls are trafficked into korea but i hope it really is just an old stereotype. they wouldn't be happy either if people go around asking asians "are you korean?" all over the world assuming they're prostitutes. it's realllly rude, bordering insanity
I lived abroad and heard same gossip about Russian women in Europe. But the truth I found out is that when people say Russian they usually refer to Russian speaking girls- and thats a lot of people outside of Russia. The girls who do it for money also say they are Russian other then their real nationality because of the ignorance a lot of foreigners unfortunately have: many foreigners simply don’t know their countries and can’t imagine the background the girl has. But pretty much everyone knows where Russia is and some stereotypes already. So for some girls it’s easier. That’s what I personally heard.
Right! There are a lot of Belarusian, Ukrainian and so on girls who speak Russian and they don't want to spoil their county's image, or just assume that people don't know smaller Russian-speaking countries, so it's easier to say "Russia", than " Belarus ", for example. Like, there are ma lot of cities in Russia but foreigners will recognize only Moscow or St Petersburg at best
@@tatyanicktheone7387 once I was talking to a Korean older lady and she said : “ Ukraine? Is it in Northern Europe next to Norway?” and the next day I was at a party and asked a young Korean girl I just met if she knows where Ukraine is. She said she doesn’t recognize the name. And I said “ it’s a country next to Russia” and she followed by “Ah! Russia! I know Russia!” I mean 😪 I unfortunately have a lot of stories like that
💯This is most actual comment here 👏👏👏1st of all Russians have NO free visa to EU ☝️☝️, free European visas got all those post Communist states: Ukraine , Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Georgia, all of them mostly Speak Russian, and their migrants and hookers flood another parts of Europe, but ignorant people call them Russians 🤡, check their passports first if all , when you bring them free visa
I like that you bring these questions on a surface to show the truth because this helps to understands what to expect and not fantasize about country by romantic dramas which are really kind and so on but really far from reality. And people need to live in reality.
I've heard that being a foreign women puts you at a higher risk for being sexually assaulted especially at clubs and I can imagine how people thinking you're a prostitute because of your nationality would put you at an even higher risk. Not that being a sex worker makes anyone deserving of assault but the way people's brain works is crazy and I hate that it's 2023 and such stereotypes still exist.
I'm Turkish and both Turkish men and women often ask me if I'm "Russian". We have the same problem here. Foreign women, especially ones from Eastern Europe are highly fetishized. A lot of Turkish men who approach me here get pretty disappointed when they find out I'm Turkish. Especially on online dating platforms, which I do not use anymore. Quite often, when I respond by saying "No, I'm Turkish", they stop all communication with me or even block me.
I'm from Romania but I look Turkish. I used this to my advantage when I got lost in the Grand Bazaar 😅 everyone assumed I was local and didn't pay attention to me. Even in Germany if I go into a turkish shop they start talking directly in Turkish and I have to explain I just look like this but don't understand. Also people assume Romanian is a slavic language but it's Latin with Slavic accent (surrounded by slavs you get the influence)
@@koraXro the Grand Bazaar is huge. Even I get lost sometimes there. And yes, sometimes passing as a local can be an advantage. Plus I didn't know Romanian was a Latin language 😮
As a Russian, I was trying to find native Korean people to practice my Korean with and all I get is stereotypes about Russian pretty girls. “Oh I heard Russian girls are pretty” or “so you are Russian right? You have blonde hair and blue eyes?” Honestly it’s creeping me out, like I wanna learn Korean, not hear about creepy stereotypes they believe… and idk what to do, like I can’t find Korean ppl who would not say this kind of stuff and just correct my Korean. But I really wanna learn Korean but this I just wanna give up. So yeah
I'm sorry to hear that as a Korean. Honestly, I recommend looking for language meet ups. In this day and age, I'm sure there are Korean language meetups over in Russia too so perhaps take a look at that. Or join some sort of "club" or activity like an art club, martial arts, cooking, music, etc if you are in Korea. Finding like-minded people makes things easier. Going clubbing is a bad idea in my opinion in Korea if you are a foreign woman because there is that stereotype and it is also the place for hookups. Stay away from clubs. Most bad experiences result from there.
loved this video! i think we've all heard the rumors of russian girls, but this video helped me understand how difficult it could be for them to be fetishized in that way. we hear sad stories of other types of women being overlooked, but i think too much attention is bad too.
Its not only with Russians Im a blonde German girl with blue eyes and I suffer from issues like that as well not so much here in Korea but in every country which I visited the men just talk about how veautiful I am and wanted to date me even if I just wanted to meet new people its very exhausting
@@openbob6656they dont think so if you would have listen to the video they as well as me as a blonde german with big blue eyes suffer a lot from always being hunted and watched !!
Then police up your battle buddies cause they're making you all look bad. My bf is from korea, but has spent 15 years of his adult life in western countries. I met him on an app because I knew about all these stereotypes and wanted some firsthand data and opinions before judging an entire group of people. I wasn't expecting anyone to take me seriously at all. I really like him and care for him. If I was in Korea, however, not a single man is getting the time of day from me. It's not worth the risk of getting used for sex, probably filmed without your knowledge or consent so he can show his friends, then ghosted. And heaven forbid a man puts his hands on me without permission. I will introduce him to an American custom known as "fuck around and find out" combat veteran style.
I am a Korean man. This is just my point of view as a Korean man, if you have a different thought, you are probably right. First, I feel a bit uncomfortable with "The Fetishization Of Foreign Women By Korean Men" since it sounds like Generalizing many Korean men have the fetishization of foreign women, but It's still a good thing to discuss this kinda topic. However, It is also true that there are Korean men who try to hook up foreign girls in some night clubs or dating apps for sure, and they think of foreign women as if it's an achievement in the game like a trophy. But What I want to point out is that Ordinary Korean never go to nightclubs or use Dating apps to find their potential partner for the future. So, frankly speaking, the bunch of men in the nightclub (not all of them tho) are there to look for one-night stands for sure, and the likelihood to meet those kinda ppl(having the fetishization of foreign women) is supposed to be high in that case. So if you are a foreign woman, and you would like to meet Korean guys. It is a better idea that you join some kinda clubs where you can share a hobby or other places like school, church or use blind dates. Plus, I see the thing also works the same in other countries since I currently live in Canada. Apart from what I said, I feel sorry for the women who had a bad experience in S.Korea. I would like to say to foreign women having a fantasy about Korean guys from K-drama that it would be better to leave the fantasy just at the drama. Korean men are not as perfect as you watched in the dramas, they are just typical average men. There's probably a very small number of exceptions though.
Agree people here are commenting as if all South Korean men are sexual predators that is a bit racist can you also say the same like all black men are criminal ?? I don't think so and regard to K dramas I must also say is Hollywood movies are also real ??? I mean there are a lot of bad men in K dramas too why do people don't see that. Also K drama are more realistic than Hollywood as far as I remember nearly all Korean dramas portray theirs society in more or less negative way that's why K dramas are popular if they portray theirs society in happy sun shines and rainbows it will end up looks like a North Korean propaganda films.
100% agree with the OP. I live in Canada and was never in to the club scene here (much prefered going to see artists in concert) because clubs here are full of creeps too. I think this comes with the territory. I had a friend of a good friend who was a barmaid downtown, she looked like human Barbie, and we always went to her work before she finished because she had creeps who would stay until closing to harrass her. She became so paranoid, she wouldnt even answer her door when ordering takeout and would make her boyfriend go to the door because she never wanted strangers to know where she lives. There are weirdos everywhere. The number of Korean men who fethishize foreign women is probably the same amount as foreign women who go to Korea because they fetishize Korean men. The two groups should hook up and leave everyone else alone.

Thank you for bringing attention to this topic, great questions as always. I too experienced a lot of what these women were talking about in Korea. There are many good men there but unfortunately when you stand out as a foreigner the weird ones gravitate towards you. I've had the "are you Russian?" query a few times (I'm very blonde) and have been asked at 7am on my way to work "do you like motels?" (never went to that bus stop again). It's sad to me that someone would treat anyone this way, making you feel like an object or something to be bought and discarded later rather than a person. Glad to say I met a lot of kind people in Korea though who showed me that that behaviour is not the norm
I've heard that cheating while in relationship is quite common in Korea. Am european myself and best traditional. Am not even easy on dating and not to talk about sleeping around.
I guess the idea of "easy" comes from the concept that sleeping with foreigners can often be related to fewer responsibilities. What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. lol@DawnDingayan-sc2sf
Western men don't see Asian women as "easy" or as candidates for one night stands. They see Asian women as the types to be quiet, obedient, and submissive. Most western guys want to have serious relationships and marry an Asian woman because they want a subservient wife. Korean men might as well just order a blonde haired, blue eyed sex robot, cause that's all they're really after. Neither stereotype is entirely true, and both have their downsides, but I'd rather be viewed the way western men view Asian women than vice versa.
Me clicking on the video notification: "Oh okay, this is gonna be an interesting watch." *10 seconds in* "If a Korean guy comes up to you and asks you if you're Russian, he's basically asking if you're a prostitute." Me (A Russian): *pulls out headphones and yeets them across the room*
@shrf1k439 lol height, money, look doesn't matter in the modern world. Your nationality is everything. For that, I have seen 18 years old Russian married with 45 years old korean short uncles
What is worse - I have met some Korean men and generally men from Asian countries (including India) living in my country - Poland, at gatherings with my friends. They were very disrespectful and treated me like a piece of meat or a prize. I'm naturally very blonde and light-skinned. At some meetings, where we were supposed to be friends, they called families to brag about me - told me to show myself and say "Hi" and then to "don't speak any more". I felt like an object, not like a person, and the lack of respect for my boundaries was often apparent in those encounters. They have lived in Poland for some years, which I find even more outrageous - they didn't learn because they didn't want to.
I'm an Indian man and I'm utterly sorry for their rude behaviours actually after some new amendments made by The legislative assembly and the judiciary of India during the yr 2009 the laws became more inclined towards females and harsher for male and thus some male started harassing the nepalis , srilankan , Bangladeshis ,Maldives etc. When the laws towards such incidents became even more harsher then some of them started targeting central Caucasian who more look like blond Europeans but they're not . So a rumor began and they started sexualising western blondes..... It is also the result of colonialism and mughal Raj local education and culture got completely vanished what remained was a broken but rugged patriarchal society which favoured the males more and discriminated against females

Men from East and South Asian countries are very patriarchal. You will know you will meet a South East Asian man if they smile and act accordingly like a gentleman should.
Ive always wanted to go to korea as part of my travels, taste their foods, meet the people, and possibly find a nice korean guy to be with. But now seeing this had made me realise how many stereotypes and stigmas are attached to foreign women and im afraid now that if i go there i wont be taken seriously. Some of the stuff ive read is terrrifying and im so sorry to all those people that went through difficult situations just bc theyre a foreigner. The media really needs to change because we arent items they can buy and throw away.
I was raped in South Korea by a Korean I met online who looked nothing like his online picture. He decided I was an ideal candidate to bear his progeny. For me all this rings true, even if generalizations seem harsh for the exceptions. We all know everyone isn’t like this but there is definite evidence many Korean men lack scruples regarding foreign relations.
Unfortunately rape culture and clubbing culture are going hand in hand sometimes, it's a real fukd up world for women who have to be extra cautious in certain situations.... while men don't need to care for shit
I have been in Korea for 7 years and at the beginning when I was blonde I would have people in itaewon ask me how much for the night. As the girl mentioned, Korean men associate Russian girls with prostitution because back in the days they had many Russian girls working at karaoke(speaking bars). After 7 years I am tired and hate being asked if I am Russian and people always ask me why I hate Russian girls. I don’t hate Russian girls. I have amazing friends from Russia here. I hate being called Russian by men because they associate it with something negative and think Russians are easy to get and have no standard. Which is bs. But they have let media and past affect their opinions so it will be very hard to change. Same goes when they find out I’m American and they think oh so can we kiss now? After 5 min of talking. They have such a misconception of what open minded is. Open mind yes but not open legs.
As a Slavic Russian-speaking girl (not exactly from Russia but from its neighbouring country) it really bothers me to see such stereotypes exist. They souldn't have such stereotypes about the US girls or any other countries girls either. Like where's basic human respect, kindness and manners even. I'm glad you haven't developed prejudice towards Russian girls from the situations like those.
@@UrWeid why do those women even go to these countries and expect anything different? China and Korea are one od the worst countries for them,if you look at their social media
As someone who lived in Korea for sometime and is white and had Korean friends, this is like the norm. Because they don’t care about being fetishized themselves when I brought this subject up to my Korean friends I said is it not weird for you that someone might just want to have sex with you because you’re Korean? And not for who you are as a person? And they said it wasn’t weird at all, why would it be weird. They see it as a compliment. And they think it’s a compliment when they feel this way about foreigners and they think it’s like just wanting to experience love from another culture. It’s very interesting compared to the west where it’s to the other extreme where appropriation is thrown out for so many things. I am indifferent to the subject because I feel it would be wrong for me to judge their way of living as it isn’t done with malicious intent but wanted to share my experience on this subject as someone who lived there and talked to Korean men and women about this.
I think this might be because they are surrounded by people who look like them, speak their language, and are the same ethnicity, and therefore do not fetishize them. Asian-American people for example would be much more likely to realize when they're being fetishized, and much more likely to be fetishized, especially if they live somewhere with a small Asian population.
This is hypocritical. Not a single Korean will say what can show all Koreans as bad. They will deny this even if it is outright lies. And this is one of the ways to relieve responsibility if he was caught red-handed, to say the problem is in you, you simply do not understand, because you are a foreigner. They hold us for fools and manipulate us

Thanks for the cultural context. I need to hear this. Not saying it's right or wrong, just perspective from different culture on how they perceive things. 👍 I've seen this thing (cultural context and norms) being ask by tourist in my country too. Not the kind of thing about sexualisation of woman in this video, fortunately we don't really do that to foreigner.
I have quite a few foreign friends in Korea, and the commonality of the stories of friends who cried and asked me for counseling after meeting a bad man in Korea was that they met a man at a club or on Tinder. In fact, I understand that there are few places for them to meet men naturally in Korea as foreigners. But if you meet idiots just because you're lonely, it will only waste your time and emotions.
Yeah but the main problem is that in South Korea is not see as a problem when korean mens harass foreigner womens and maybe not even in their own countries the foreign girls meet dudes more dangerous/jerks than the koreans. If they let korean mens getting away to do awful stuff to womens from other countries is not a surprise that every woman is gonna be scared to put a foot in that place.
@@franciscovilcheavila960 If a Korean or a foreigner is sexually harassed, they can report it to the police and the perpetrator will be punished. Korea is a country ruled by law. There are many cctvs in Korea, and the population density is high, so it is easy to obtain evidence and witnesses. But since the cops don't speak English, you'll need a Korean friend. To say that Koreans are more dangerous than people from other countries is, of course, absurd. Foreign women who go to any country need to be more careful. There are cases in which some foreigners do not pay attention at all in Korea because they think that 'Korea is safe'. The problem is that many of my foreign friends repeat the same behavior when they become lonely even after such a bad experience. They must learn to control their loneliness.
Club and tinder simply aren't a good place to meet quality people as most are there for a hook up no matter what country you're in. There are exceptions of cos as I have a few friends who met their husband or wife through meeting them in Club or Tinder but most of them end up meeting Fboys and Loose girls.
I completely agree with the lady in the white shirt, if what you truly are looking for is a long time relationship not some one night stand you will find it
They learn from watching too many western media especially Hollywood movies. Also 20-25 years ago many ex-Soviet women came to Korea on "entertainment "visas to work in bars or strip clubs. So I guess the image still persists but its not bad as before. Believe me its not nearly as bad as in western countries. On the flip side look at all the white guys going to Thailand or Philippines on sex tours.
Funny how the "exotic factor" of foreign people is a thing in so many countries.. I have made some street interviews about this as well, from Argentina, Brazil and Denmark so far
Im an American guy but I swear Korean guys seem like something else. I can't help but think that the Kdramas and Kpop make them think they're sex defined or something lol
idk these type of channels seem to always go out of their way to emasculate/demonize korean/asian men. He also has a bunch of videos of korean women talking about how much they like foreign men. Definitely seems to be an ulterior motive
This serves as a wake-up call for Western women to understand how they are portrayed by international media. Platforms like Only Fans and Twitch streamers inadvertently reinforce these stereotypes. It wasn’t long ago that Asian women faced similar challenges. The infamous scene in "Full Metal Jacket" with the line, "Love you long time," from a Vietnamese character, unfortunately, tainted the image of Asian women, particularly for those residing in Western countries. In the past, Western men were highly sought after by Asian women, largely due to war and media influence. Now, the tables have turned, with Western women showing a preference for Korean men, largely driven by media portrayals. The world is indeed a carousel, with everyone getting their turn. The media wields significant power in shaping public perception.
One of the things that annoy me the most and that's not something solely happening in korean minds, is the idea that someone who has many different sexual partners, automatically doesn't care who that partner is/would sleep with anyone. I can't speak from my own experience because while I don't think there is anything wrong with it, skinship with someone I don't have basic trust in is way beyond my comfort zone/stressfull to me, but most of my friends had various one night stand, but just because of that no one else is entitled to "their time". And yeah, in general it would be great if we could just stop generalizing. People will have different opinions not matter the continent/the country they're from. Weither it's for religious reasons, general upbringing, based on experiences or like me simply because of their own comfort zone.
I'm Russian and I can assure you that the problem is only the place where you are looking for a guy. All clubs/ dating apps like tinder meeff etc. are designed for such type of guys in Korea, mostly korean guys I met outside of apps doesnt have such stereotypes.
How will they get to another place? They have been living in Korea for years and cannot say hello politely in the local language. To communicate with other people without stereotypes, they need to learn the Korean language, and this, as usual, is beyond the power of English-speaking ladies. Those that learn, communicate with normal men, but not with any rabble.
When in Korea old guys keep asking me if I was Russian 🤬 now I understand, illogic because I was cover up and walking next to my husband and I look a lot Chinese by the way. Now I feel offended
@@Anastasia_cherry24 Ну вот, как видите...
As one of the ladies in the interview said, sadly, because of media representation, western woman are seen as easy to have intimate relationships wich is sad because that's not the case for many of us.
I don't think it is just media representation. If you compare in western culture is really common to date and have a one night stand, and it is everything normal and okay, it is very common. BUT in Korea, as I saw a Korean explaining, things don't work like that. That's why I think Koreans have this kind of view.
@@pabliciosoares903 Neither me or my female friends do one night stands or easy hook-up, nevertheless, al series and film on Netflix, HBO, Prime depic western women as some kind of easy targets so yes, it's about western media representation. In K-dramas you don't see this picture of women so when korean people see american show they'll think western women act this way.

I’m so tired of the “well westerners in movies have so much sex” excuse like cmon. At what point in time are you going to realize that movies aren’t real and just because you see a bunch of foreigners doesn’t mean they want to hookup with you. Koreans aren’t dumb people but every time I see videos based on this topic it’s like do they lack common sense or are they willfully ignorant? And trust this argument goes both ways from westerners to Koreans as well with all the K-pop and dramas
I hope that someone introduces this topic to the main media so that korean guys can see that foreigners arent toys, and that these are all only ideals and fetishisizations
Going to both countries, I find F boy culture is more common in South Korea than Japan. Some dudes over there think some foreign women are completely play into all this kpop kdrama stuff and will sleep with them on the first date.
Would like to see an interview/insights topic on Korean men in their mid-20s to mid-30s+ who still live at home and let their parents still raise and rule them, which in my country it would consider them mama-boys, like in my case moved away from home and self-sufficient when I was out of high school at 18 and been on my own since, and only go home to visit family during holidays and family get-togethers and my life is my own my parents may give me advice when asked but they don't rule me.
It’s not only American movies and shows, I’ve watched German shows that show sexual intimacy more raw than American ones in the first 5 episodes Update: I watch shows from different countries and I have to say that the US is the LEASTTTTTT explicit that I’ve seen. US sexual scenes got nothing on these other countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Germany, and the UK.
@@user_mll374 exactly, I heard the German girl trynna say that stuff about the states like her country doesn’t do the same thing MORE EXPLICIT than us.
these days, International marriage keep getting popularity among Korean guys. Not all guys are looking for hookup. If girls want more serious relationship, they should go cafe not a club
My younger sister's classmates are 11 years old, but they wear very sexualized clothes and put a lot of makeup on their faces. Many of them have something in the spirit of "Jimin, I want children from you" written in their status on social networks. I am only 5 years older, but often, like a pensioner, I say: "Here in my time... there was no such debauchery in my time... in my time, children read books... and we wore underpants, not thongs..."
Yeah, it was very similar like that in your time as well, you just didn't notice. It was also the same in my time, but not with korean celebs, and I'm 23. We all go through very similar cycles but choose not to remember our own blunders and cringey trends from our youth
@@MELLMAO lol the world in the past was definingly not like that, people were generally more conservatives and completely did not do what kids are doing today especially not on this scale
@@MELLMAO I think you're right. But there is still a significant difference. At least our mothers did not put smartphones in the cradle of newborns, as is happening now. In my time, we learned to read from the Bible, and on Sundays we put a couple of candles in the church. We traveled a lot around Russia, got acquainted with numerous relatives and with the culture of our country in local theaters, museums and cultural parks. I studied music, sports, was fond of natural sciences and won Olympiads in mathematics and physics... If there were any celebrities and popular trends, then parents carefully protected us from this knowledge If we behaved badly, were naughty, made noise, showed audacity, then we were flogged and there was nothing surprising in this. Now, if a parent raises his hand against his disobedient child, he will be put in jail. But there is nothing illegal in ruining children's health from childhood by handing them their mother's smartphone as the first toy. To see the difference, it's enough to compare my sister's classmates with my peers when we were their age. Today's children suffer from serious illnesses much more often than before. They have anemia, myopia, strabismus, dental problems and ADHD. At the same time, most of the children were engaged in sports sections, passed sports standards for gold and only a few wore glasses.
You can also say that there are women around the world who fetishizes about Korean Men because of K Drama and K Pop. And they would go all the way to Korea hoping to meet Korean Men to date like the men in K Dramas . So it goes both ways.
Thats because a lot of foreign women meet korean men in club or tinder. thats not how korean usually meet each other. you cannot meet quality guy on tinder or in club
that rule applies to any country, except Russia, I know so many merried couples who met in Tinder and so many people search only serious relations there
Jesus, as a Chinese guy I am a bit surprised this sort of stuff is so common in Korea, I dont think this sort of stuff is nearly as prevalent in China.

Same in America, I don’t think it’s wrong people find certain ethnicities besides themselves attractive but I can totally see why it can be taken too far. You also shouldn’t date someone completely because you find them physically appealing. Personality and demeanor matters just as much.
It is actually like that? People just want to spend one night with you and never see you ever again? People would be embarrassed to bring you home to their parents?
@@valentinab164no it’s not, asian women are usually respected, especially japanese, korean, chinese etc because they don’t have a bad reputation and don’t behave like that. plus European parents are usually more open minded than asian

I'm blonde with blue eyes, and I have high cheek bones, so I get it.

Between russian men and russian women one-night stands are generally frowned upon
this is not true. russian women are the leaders and pioneers of one night stands everywhere in the world. there is a reason stereotypes exist.
A huge factor is that these Russian women ALSO are pale, blonde, and blue eyes.... exactly the beauty fantasy and ideal in Korea...
So sad but true. 😮💨
that's really sad... i was worried if perhaps somehow russian girls are trafficked into korea but i hope it really is just an old stereotype. they wouldn't be happy either if people go around asking asians "are you korean?" all over the world assuming they're prostitutes. it's realllly rude, bordering insanity
In Japan half of the girls on helth delivery services are still slavic.
Is it in Northern Europe next to Norway?”
and the next day I was at a party and asked a young Korean girl I just met if she knows where Ukraine is. She said she doesn’t recognize the name. And I said “ it’s a country next to Russia” and she followed by “Ah! Russia! I know Russia!”

Good point.
you're totally right!
Well said
Agree people here are commenting as if all South Korean men are sexual predators that is a bit racist can you also say the same like all black men are criminal ??

It’s weird that in Korea the foreigner women are viewed as easy girls while the foreigner guys in Asia see the local Asian girls as easy.
??? 😢
I guess the idea of "easy" comes from the concept that sleeping with foreigners can often be related to fewer responsibilities. What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas. lol@DawnDingayan-sc2sf
Men just being men 😂
Western men don't see Asian women as "easy" or as candidates for one night stands.

I have quite a few foreign friends in Korea, and the commonality of the stories of friends who cried and asked me for counseling after meeting a bad man in Korea was that they met a man at a club or on Tinder.
Yo bro drop your workout routine

@@StarlightAngel948 I'M AM NOT saying you are open to one night stand or your friends. Yes, media reforece those kind stereotypes but it is not only media.
@@StarlightAngel948 I saw it on Kelsey the Korean channel, it is a good channel if you want to understand more about Korean culture.
@@pabliciosoares903 depends the western country and culture in that country.
In Korea having one night stand is common same as cheating your partner if you are a man but nobody talks about that openly to save face.
Demand creates supply, what more can I say.

So club culture in Korea is just shit for people only going dancing for a bit fun?
I’m so tired of the “well westerners in movies have so much sex” excuse like cmon. At what point in time are you going to realize that movies aren’t real and just because you see a bunch of foreigners doesn’t mean they want to hookup with you. Koreans aren’t dumb people but every time I see videos based on this topic it’s like do they lack common sense or are they willfully ignorant? And trust this argument goes both ways from westerners to Koreans as well with all the K-pop and dramas
I want his top ware, seriously send me a link 😊
I hope that someone introduces this topic to the main media so that korean guys can see that foreigners arent toys, and that these are all only ideals and fetishisizations
being from Russia and seeing that - that;s disgusting, especially when so many "russian koreans'' moved back to Korea
Going to both countries, I find F boy culture is more common in South Korea than Japan. Some dudes over there think some foreign women are completely play into all this kpop kdrama stuff and will sleep with them on the first date.
I am curious but at the same time not as to what the reaction would be from Korean people when watching "too hot to handle"... lol
Now we know why Song Hye Kyp got divorced
Would like to see an interview/insights topic on Korean men in their mid-20s to mid-30s+ who still live at home and let their parents still raise and rule them, which in my country it would consider them mama-boys, like in my case moved away from home and self-sufficient when I was out of high school at 18 and been on my own since, and only go home to visit family during holidays and family get-togethers and my life is my own my parents may give me advice when asked but they don't rule me.
It's just not a Korean thing,it's common all over Asia ie Far East,Middle East, South East Asia, Central Asia,Western Asia.
That Russian short haired woman is amazingly charismatic! She has HIGH EQ

It’s not only American movies and shows, I’ve watched German shows that show sexual intimacy more raw than American ones in the first 5 episodes
Update: I watch shows from different countries and I have to say that the US is the LEASTTTTTT explicit that I’ve seen. US sexual scenes got nothing on these other countries, including Mexico, Brazil, Germany, and the UK.
Yes, exactly. It's any country with this open, free, "sex-sells" culture on TV.

these days, International marriage keep getting popularity among Korean guys.
@@investa9772 I don't think the world itself has changed so much in the 5 years that separate my sister and me.
@@user-eg9fh1cv6i idk what world you lived in but the world was generally much more conservative and traditional back in the day
@@MELLMAO I think you're right.
If there were any celebrities and popular trends, then parents carefully protected us from this knowledge
If we behaved badly, were naughty, made noise, showed audacity, then we were flogged and there was nothing surprising in this.
At the same time, most of the children were engaged in sports sections, passed sports standards for gold and only a few wore glasses.
what a reputation we have ))

You can also say that there are women around the world who fetishizes about Korean Men because of K Drama and K Pop. And they would go all the way to Korea hoping to meet Korean Men to date like the men in K Dramas . So it goes both ways.
This was covered in a different video and by many more outlets.
but the good korean man dont to meet any woman in foriegn place in korea.
@@notmeagain8418 What about a video about "Fetishization of Korean women by Foreign men"?
Thats because a lot of foreign women meet korean men in club or tinder. thats not how korean usually meet each other.
you cannot meet quality guy on tinder or in club
This is pretty accurate
that rule applies to any country, except Russia, I know so many merried couples who met in Tinder and so many people search only serious relations there
Jesus, as a Chinese guy I am a bit surprised this sort of stuff is so common in Korea, I dont think this sort of stuff is nearly as prevalent in China.

Yeah it’s like I’m Europe, some guys think and fantasise about Asian girls especially japanese being all cute and kawaii
Same in America, I don’t think it’s wrong people find certain ethnicities besides themselves attractive but I can totally see why it can be taken too far. You also shouldn’t date someone completely because you find them physically appealing. Personality and demeanor matters just as much.
Japanese girl is not kawaii lol in reality
It is actually like that? People just want to spend one night with you and never see you ever again? People would be embarrassed to bring you home to their parents?
@@valentinab164no it’s not, asian women are usually respected, especially japanese, korean, chinese etc because they don’t have a bad reputation and don’t behave like that. plus European parents are usually more open minded than asian
