Great video but I would add one bit of information to the video or detail section. What viscosity lube do you want to use for the outboard. So people don’t use 10w-30 haha

You should ALWAYS take your top/fill plug out first.
That way you know you can get it out and refill it.

Forgot to mention to take cap off the reservoir tank at the top of the engine (i/o) and to keep on pumping until it reaches its level. I didnt do that so my low lube alarm went off. Question i have is can you top off from the top or do you have to pump from the bottom again ? Boats already on the water thinking i did what i was supposed to -_-

I made a mistake and remove the Philip head plug thinking it was the drain plug I was adding gear lube then I saw the drain plug at the very bottom of my motor.I am wondering if I did any damage by removing that screw.I read somewhere never remove the Philip head screw because they hold some fittings together inside the lower unit.

Thank's for the video's, I really like you're product's, I have a 2016 Tracker pontoon with an 90 4 stroke outboard, dealer sugested I do 20 hr. serv. inc. oil filter and gear lube and impeller, preformed all service but never could get lower unit to go back up, took it to bass pro. and two mechanics had it back on in 5 min. brought it back home and water tested so I could check oil; level, noticed no water coming out of teltail, ran a small wire in to fitting incase a dirt dauber had built no obst. any idea's? How can I be sure the pump is working?

Is it possible to replace the plugs with (of course) with the same sized threaded type only a type that s removed and replaced using a socket wrench? I had a Evinrude 175 back in '88 and changed the gear lube with a big flat blade screw-driver and it tightened down fine. Six months of heavy fishing later, I went to loosen the screws and I could not. I want to say impossible. I suppose the vibration from the running motor tightened it into oblivia! LOL! A socket would have done it! Thanks for the good vid! JEE.

is there a difference between marine gear lube, and lower unit oil? I am looking to replace the lower unit oil in my engine and i found some marine gear lube at the store today but it came in a tube and i think it is thick. not sure.

could you not leave the plug in the bottom and fill from the top vent until it comes out of the other top vent then plug the top one's then you wouldn't get any leaking when you remove the pump
