    How on earth do you manage to explain things that others either miss or don't know. Even though my engine is a Yamaha, this advice is totally appropriate.Just the correct advice is invaluable. You show the importance of reading instructions on the engine and where to find it. I find your instruction and skills expertlty done. I also am subscribed to marine mechanical engineers and they don't always articulate everything that a novice would understand ( at least me ). Jason, I can't , for a moment fully explain how important your advice is and without being too patronising, Thank you for your time and for sharing your knowledge. Regards my friend.

      Thanks nomad I really appreciate it! I just try to explain things like I would like them explained.. in a way my brain can understand.. lol.. I talk boats with customers all the time.. and it’s something I love talking about and working on! People don’t like it when you try to talk over their head..and they tune out or don’t listen or might think you’re arrogant .. Even though sometimes working in boats can be very frustrating and annoying.. but it’s challenging and rewarding also.. i hope to stay in the industry a long time.. I couldn’t think of a better job for myself..only thing that will stop me is my knees and back! Lol..I always appreciate your feedback and support!

    Thanks good relaxed video. I have done the 100 hr service before on my 115 mercury and 250 Yamaha. Its towards the end of the season here in VT and I always do a service before the winter sets in. Although I have done this several times before I use your video as a refresher check list every year. Smashed the first one but bought a 4 pack. They are blue ones made of some compost stuff. I don’t care for them much and will try and get something different next year. Other than that, super easy service 👍.

    Excellent. I liked how he insisted on replacing the fill/vent plug seals.
    The only thing I would have done differently was run it, if possible, before and after.

    • @ReelLifeFisherman
      @ReelLifeFisherman  Před 3 lety

      I do run them afterwards.. but not before.. you want all the oil in the sump.. best to fully trim it up before you trim it back to vertical then wait a few minutes then drain the oil.. thanks for watching and commenting..

    That was a great service video. The camera work was also outstanding. Often that makes a tutorial video not so helpful. I have often wondered why Mercury put the lower unit drain in such an odd place, but now it makes sense. Thanks for sharing.
