  • When Sebastian Oberlin takes the stage at TEDxFreiburg 2024, you will experience a music performance like never before. No preparation, no sheet music, fully interactive: Sebastian Oberlin believes that there is a lot of musical potential within each of us that we can unlock. Although music may be very present in our lives, many of us are afraid of singing and oppress their musical flow with self-criticism. In his talk, Sebastian Oberlin shows us the power of „Vocal Painting“ - a tool to break the boundaries between the music and ourselves. Sebastian Oberlin studied music and math in Freiburg and obtained a master’s degree in Innovative Choir Leading from the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg (Denmark). He works as a choir leader, is training to become a high school teacher and has multiple music projects (like Neilon or Kaleidoskop). He is always searching for new ways of teaching music, using „Instant Music“ to break the boundaries between humans and music which is predominately noticeable in western music culture. You can follow Sebastian Oberlin at his website to stay up to date with his latest projects. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
