Great episode but I have one complain regarding North vs South (1:41:19). It's ironic that both host and guest were all for tolerance and respect for differences and yet they discriminated based on region which in turn is rooted in ethnicity.
North is also fed up of South and center's institutional and economical supremacy over North. I think it's better that we should peacefully part ways in coming decades.

I had a negative view of Ammar Ali Jan. I've heard him being called anti-state and "raw ka agent." This podcast did a good job in humanizing him. We're are not used to hearing the other side, those who we might not agree with, and to discuss our differences in a cordial and respectful manner. Conversation is extremely black and white here in Pakistan so it becomes important to bridge the gap and to understand each side. Only if we understand each other, and learn co-exist with each other, only then can we realistically think about what progress could mean for us.

Personally, I found myself agreeing strongly with the point made at 1:52:42, which is that honesty is at the heart of everything. We often fail to be honest with ourselves, yet expect honesty from others, leading to defensiveness when it comes to our beliefs and politics. All of this stems from personal dishonesty and fear.
