@@yolandadunmore104 I have been reading about Tembi and watching interviews on CZcams. I am definitely ordering the book now that I heard her and her sister talk about the changes. And how they came up with the names for the show was brilliant. They used the names of loss family members of the people who were involved in the making of this series. I am from New York City so I liked the fact that they went to New York before L.A. HER DAUGHTER PICKED HER OWN NAME FOR THE SERIES. IT HAS SOMETHING PERSONAL TO DO WITH HER FATHER.

The tears started flowing from EP 4. I even downloaded some of the Italian song Romano Matteo's "Concedimi" and Nyv "Per Favore". This tears gave me headache when I was done. The whole family, the friendship, the sisterhood, the marriage was just wonderfully portrayed. This was wonderful. I'm so glad Netflix didn't destroy this with their romance formula.

I cried my eyes out watching this series, I MEAN IT, I was SOBBING. It was heartwrenching, it was magnificent, it was so emotional, the family dynamics and the culture, the love of cooking and the magic he created in the kitchen. The love portrayed for his wife and child...oh my goodness. I will forever hold love stories up to this one. BRILLIANT!
Binged the entire series. I couldn't breath right during the final 3 episodes. I could imagine myself in that situation. I don't know if I could ever handle it. I was balling and heartbroken like it was me this was happening to. A thousand stars to the makers of this series. Anyone who watches and feels nothing are emotionally challenged. This storyline grips your soul and keeps you engaged in such a way that it mentally places you right there as one of the characters. This was perfection. 😊😊😊
The fact that this story was true made me cry way more than I imagined. I did not know from the start that it was a true love story
From Scratch is such a BEAUTIFUL series that exemplifies a Wonderful Love Story. It will make you laugh, cry and make your heart explode with multiple emotions. I Loved it! 💕💕💕
I loved this movie more than I can say. I haven't cried during a movie in over 20 years. That all changed with "From Scratch". It really hit a nerve (in a good way) and I bawled my eyes out. I have recommended this show to everyone I know and urged them to subscribe to Netflix just to watch it. The two leads are magnificent and share a chemistry that is incredibly compelling. Kudos to all involved. I will watch it again and again and again.

I remember when the book came out I was sick at home on a workday anyway I saw an interview Tembi did about her book & I had to get it. So I’m glad they were able to bring this to the screen. What’s crazy is that I’m an artist, my first kiss was by an Italian boy 😂 & I have been hooked on Italian since. I even speak some of it but slowly learning the language. I plan on going to Italy next year for the summer. I felt like this was speaking to me & although I knew the rough parts from the book would show up I didn’t expect to cry this much. I’m happy that Zoe’ was chosen for this role it was made for her & the man that played Lino did a great job too. I have watched it about 7 times already 🙈 lol it’s that good. I’m glad Tembi shared her story ❤
Absolutely INCREDIBLE love story and life story. Acting PHENOMENAL for everyone. The last time I cried this hard was watching A Walk to Remember years ago. Thank you for bringing this beautiful story to the screen. LINO LIVES ON!
Beautiful series that send you on a roller coaster ride of all human emotions that life can drop at your doorstep. The Italian sceneries make you want to pack your bags and go. It makes you realized that love is powerful and that human beings react to it the same way regardless of religion,race, country and family’s. Need a part 2.

Such a beautiful movie. Cried a lot. Didn't know anything about it but saw that Zoe was in it so it must be good. The chemistry between Zoe and Eugenio was beautiful. You felt the love. The whole cast was perfect. Zoe and Eugenio deserve some awards

Beautiful love story! The characters are wonderfully portrayed by the actors, plus the scenery, the food and the Italian culture. It's to love, laugh and cry at the same time!
I have read the book twice and loved it and to watch it unfold on screen made me cry so much and yes Zoe was hands down perfect, I am now binge watching it too
So far this is the most awesome series I've seen on Neflix❤️❤️❤️ It is Realism, raw but magical. I truly feel the emotions and I am totally invested in the characters. Overall a FABULOUS production

When he dies and the moment she breaks with her sister just got me. I cried a lot. What I can say it gr8 acting I was hooked from start to finish. The Italian from her hai girl is gd.

I binged watched it last night. From episode 5 on, I couldn't stop crying and I couldn't stop watching. I saw myself in that movie . I didn't need subtitles as I understand the Sicilian language and traditions so very well being brought up by my Sicilian parents....this was bittersweet for me.
My husband lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in January 2021, after only five months. And although the cancer was different, the duration was different, our ages are different, and number of children were different, etc. there were so many similarities. This time of year has turned out to be a very sad time as it was the same time period that my husband was battling and during the pandemic. Life can be beautiful one moment and so sad the next. As the author said, life doesn't always go as expected. Sometimes we are forced to start "From Scratch!"
It was the most beautiful, wholesome and moving series I've watched in a very long time. It left a profound mark on my heart. It was filled with decency, family values, and a lot of love. You Don't See serious like this anymore
This was a very good movie! Zoe Salander deserves an Oscar for this movie! Me and my wife cried, laughed and it was inspirational! ! Good job from from both actor and actress! Especially from Zoe Salander!!

I binged on this and I was a mess most of that time. I so could relate because my daughter is recovering from cancer. Cancer is a constant unwelcomed intruder. Well done to a beautiful life/love story. The actors did the story justice.

I am so glad many of you got together to make this real life story be shown in the best way, you feel it and live it.
It also made me realize how fortunate I was to have my husband still after a cancer battle but also validate all the emotions as a wife had gone through and bottled up because I didn't think I could breakdown infront of my husband and kids through the battle and feeling helpless through it all.

Binged watched this twice in one week! A very moving story, was surprised to hear its a true story at that. A wonderful change from the usual violence, inane reality tv shows and lackluster mind-numbing BS we're subjected to.... the cast were perfect.....

Zoe Saldana navigated the gyration of emotions required to play this role. The family dynamics was well fitted and very needed for the situation.

I watched it in one day...up to now I still think about it...Zoe is the best actress for the role...Eugenio is so handsome and I can’t forget his smiling face.
This series they are beautiful I go watch again . The history of Amy and Lino is beautiful and said l cry a lot. The actors they are brilliant. And l love Florence.

My most wake up call in beleiving in Feelings again, in Big and Bold emotions again… sometimes it takes a brick on the head to dare to get out of a numb tired heart… it took me this serie to realize it’s out there and with-in that I can live with colors again… may they be rainbowy or gloomy… I want all of that again…

I cried my eyes out.. I love From Scratch . But there is one huge mistake done there: Matteo's Bocelli beautiful song Anime Imperfette is at the very end, during credits, when Netflix shows you adverts of next series. It should be used earlier, for example in wedding scene ..so everyone could hear it!

I read the book last year. It was the best book I had read in years, usually the book is better than the movie but, not in this case the movie was equally as good as the book..

IT WAS A TRUE STORY
Wow! Reading all these comments about what a tear jerker this series was took me by surprise as I only got up to watching 2 episodes and found it so boring. Maybe I should give it another try?
I felt the same but episode 3 hooked me. It was a lovely story told very well. Highly recommend you give it a second chance.
