So many photography tutorials on CZcams focus on the presenter - a talking head - and less on the images. Your tutorial kept me immersed for its duration, a rare occurrence on CZcams, and has made me think seriously about the way I compose images. It is a revelation, and I have been taking photographs for more years than I care to remember. You have created a presentation that is second to none that delivers the key concepts. I need to watch this again and again. As an education presenter I can always recognise a teacher. Power to your elbow madam! You are a shining light among mundane photographic educators. Keep these videos coming, please!

I love this; I've been moving more and more toward minimalism in my music, and recently began to appreciate artists like Mark Rothko. To some extent, it feels like learning things that we inherently know, but need help to recognize and clarify.

I didn't know why I found minimalism so appealing, but I think you helped show me why in this video. "Essence." It's the finer details. It's the new perspective. It's the raw wonder and appreciation for simplicity that just evokes emotion for some inexplicable reason. And at the end you said something very meaningful, "if it speaks to you, go for it." I've always felt like minimalist photography wasn't worth showing to others, because it just looks so simple, but I like it so I shouldn't be embarrassed that it is simple. Thank you.

This was a wonderful tutorial, clear and specific. I'm new to photography, mainly street photography. But watching this video made me realize that for year I've taken random photos very close to subjects like plants, textures in nature etc. Of the same essence you example in your own work. By the end of the video I realize I've always been a 'closet minimalist', I just didn't know their was such a style of photography. I've felt quite blocked lately, but Judy, you've lit up the fires of inspiration and I can't wait to get out and about to see what I can capture. I've been feeling down in the dumps lately. Photography allows us to play with light, and your lesson reminds me to be creative and "play" with my art. I have been wanting to break away from the "reality" landscape photos, and capture a more intimate feeling of what I was witnessing. I stumbled upon your 1st video, this one, and realize that this is what I've been attempting to capture all along, only you have put it in a nice package, with a bow on top. Thank you for your minimalist reminder about simplification. I enjoyed your images, and hope to see more videos from you.

On occasion I dip into this style of photography and I always like what I come away with. Your video made me realize the "why" of what I like about those pictures... the fine detail of the view. The last few minutes of your video did a good job of leading us into the mind set of shooting "minimalist". Thank you for taking the time to lead us into a special style of photography.

Very enlightening with a clear message. The variety of examples lends to different approaches or refinements of how to see with a purpose not just taking a pretty picture.

This video opened my eyes! I came to this video accidentally, but this is an exactly what I has been looking for some years. I see such minimalism all the time in my daily life, but never came to this like 'this is what I want to do'. Thank you, Judy, for such inspiration! Video content is great, informative, clear, with many examples and explanations! (I am going to crop my pictures :D).

This is one of the best webinars I have come across on CZcams, or any other online platform. I have always wanted to shoot simple things that we see and by-pass everyday. I could never identify it. Now thanks to you, I can.
