We loved our time in Abeyhill, but there's lots more to visit in Edinburgh! Where would you like us to go next? :)

@Simon Mountney How about Newhaven, perhaps combining it with Granton? I'm thinking that might be interesting as the tram extension will soon be completed to Newhaven and Granton is undergoing a redevelopment so I feel people will be curious to know what's there and tempted to visit.

Read about James Tytler who lived in a large house where Tytler Gardens is, he was the first person in the UK to fly a hot air balloon, his first attempt went very wrong. He also co-wrote the encyclopedia among many other crazy things he did. You can see some of the statues from his garden in the walls of Waverly park (street). Look up past the modern buildings on the left. One of them is Chopin the Polish composer, (who lived on warriston crescent for a short time back in the 19th century). The video actually starts at the arts quarter where they have painted a mural of Tytler's hot air balloon.

These are really great videos, I often find myself pausing and going through the map to check what’s around and where things are. It just makes me wish a bit more that I lived there ! I think it’s definitely good to accentuate, though, there’s more to Edinburgh than the Royal Mile for tourists.

I remember watching Eat Your Kimchi neighbourhood guides back in the days, and how they led me to places in Seoul that I probably wouldn't visit otherwise - Edinburgh is obviously a lot smaller and more easy to explore, but it always surprises me how certain areas fly under the radar. And I think we'll only be delving deeper into the lesser known areas in the future!

Last year we stayed at Royal Terrace for the first half of our honeymoon (second half was Skye!) and wandered a bit in Abbeyhill too, it's gorgeous! The Regent is a really cozy and cute place with good cider, we loved it too :) You just made my day - it's cold and windy here in Hungary now, and I'm a bit sick - much better! Thank you Kat :)

Such a great place. We also like to get reusable shopping bags from stores we visit, so we brought a couple of bags back from Sainsbury’s at the Meadowbank. Thanks for this video!

Nice video, but a little bit of constructive criticism. 0:12 - "Hard to pinpoint & We weren't too sure where to start"
Abbeyhill got it's name due to it's proximity to Holyrood Abbey. Starting the video in front of the Abbey and then walking along the various "Abbey" named streets would be logical.
