One of my favourite episodes was when they were away and the neighbour thought their house had been broken in to and trashed! But it hadn't been trashed, it was just a mess!
The family seemed real. You know people like this. The situations can be real. It reminded me of people I knew growing up. They seemed like the people next door

My teenage son was very similar to Axle. Boxer shorts, head in the fridge, etc. That's the key to winning the hearts of viewers. Funny, real life type people
Personally, I thought the middle was one of the most true to life middle America sitcoms. I.would burst out in laughter quite often. What a pleasant change to enjoy a show that was not to " sweety sappy" or " political social "... In fact I have since bought all the seasons on DVD so that I can enjoy it whenever I choose, which is quite often. All the actors were AMAZING. I give it 5 stars and wish it had lasted a couple more seasons. LOL.....Brick made me learn a bit about fonts.💗
I’ve watched every episode and Axel is a favorite character. But I have to give kudos to the writers. Whoever they are they must have definitely raised kids. Because every episode definitely mirrors my experience raising 3 kids and being middle class. Excellent show.

I noted when I sang with a German choir, that there is something attention getting, and mischievous, about how Germans have names that are just slightly off from the conventional-- like Birgit instead of Brigitte, or Axle instead of Alex. The name change seemed key to McDermott's getting the role of a lifetime.
At least things in his future look bright and he's not doing the typical Hollywood thing. He's keeping his head on straight, keeping out of trouble and lets hope he stays away from the drugs and alcohol and that doesn't fall into the wrong crowd.
He is a good looking guy and I liked him as Alex on the middle. I know his tv sister eban sheer got married this year and is having a baby or has a baby. I want to know what happened to brick ?
I liked his Character on the middle. He added a lot to the show. In my opinion the Middle was not a great show and a little hum drum. Perhaps that what the producers wanted to project.
