All the Music in 79 was amazing. I was 12 and literally every top song that year seemed like a frigging masterpiece. Fire is one of sexiest songs of all time 🥵
The Pointer Sisters should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Their resume of hits shows with, "Fire", "Fairytale ", "Yes we can can", "Slow hand", "Jump for my love", "Automatic", "Nueyron dance", "I'm so excited ","He's so shy", "Happiness" and more. Rest in Power to Anita Pointer as she joined sisters June and Bonnie. Prayers to surviving Pointer Sister Ruth, friends, fans and family of Anita Pointer. This 💖💖💖🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🌟🌟🌟🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾!
@@everlybross I am a great fan of “ Slowhand “ as well. Ahh, youth... Where did it go so fast?

First thing I ever remember buying was a 45 of this song. I was about 8 years old and my mom had to have it but was too busy to get the record herself. I walked down El Camino Real passing under highway 92 to The Warehouse which wasn't much further than the overpass. I remember the orange and blue color scheme of the store, the confusing number of 45s that were available, the anxiety of choosing the right one, and giving the cashier the modest amount of money my mom had given me. Then I remember my mom's smile and hearing this song for the first time. 43 years later the melody still comes to mind as it did this morning. Love you, mom. So thankful you're still here. Looking forward to seeing you over the holidays.
The Midnight Special by far was the best musical program ever forget about today's generation of crappy musical shows like American Idol Americas Got Talent
The funny thing is.. There was an ad for a girl named Skylar Stecker on right before this played.. She was in a one piece jumpsuit that left very little to the imagination. Yeah she looked very nice.. But the intrigue of this and Anita;s sultry way, make the one piece quickly forgotten... It;s like style you can;t teach it or learn it, you just have it.. Anita has it in bucketloads. I also love her smile.. Shoulda kept that. They all had such nice smiles..
That's one of the things that makes the Pointer Sisters so incredible, each one of them has a distinctive, trained, well produced voice. June, Bonnie, Anita, and Ruth each a far better singer than ANY current pop star.
June does an excellent job on harmony when they sing "Romeo and Juliet, Samson and Delilah." It's so beautiful, Vintage June with that adorable voice. Girl you'll always be missed.
June was so swaggy... pure high fashion sassiness but with the mad skills to back it up. Both she and Bonnie gave so much to so many. Forever remembered as our beautiful nubian Queens.

They all sound amazing, but I’ve always been in love with ANITA’S voice. Just the way she sings her “lead songs”...oh my goodness! Anita, Anita, Anita! ♥️
Yes, Anita's voice is incredible...but what about June's lead on He's So Shy and Ruth's lead on Automatic? I think switching lead vocals really worked to their advantage.
davielove11 Yes of course, they all sound incredible and have their own unique qualities when singing. June can hit those high notes flawlessly and Ruth has a distinct low voice that’s just perfect! I love all three ♥️, but Anita’s voice is just my own personal favourite. 😊
@@MichelleAngela You're right about June hitting those high notes flawlessly, the same can be said for her dancing, her moves are perfect to all of their songs. But mostly I love when June does Happiness and Jump.
Me and my sister used to sneak and watch TV late at night on the weekend and we would watch Midnight Special on channel 4 cause almost all the other channels were off the air. It was so fresh and new to me at 9 years old but the live music was outstanding. I always loved The Pointer Sisters and wish they got more respect. One the better groups to come along and one of the best female groups for sure. They have a lot of hits starting in the 70's and smash mega hits in the 80's. They were also in the movie Car Wash singing for Richard Pryor. That's when Bonnie was still in the group and they had 4 members. Great performance video! Thanks!
