I bought That’s a Plenty after hearing it in a boutique blew me away
It's a shame I've never heard of this song before. Here, I thought "Automatic" was the most bizarrely awesome song I had heard.
Anita's voice is pure country...like in Slowhand...
History making song
Real singers
I Love how all of are lead Singer🤔UNSUNG and Unappreciated... I Love The Pointer Sisters❣️❣️❣️
June was so cute when doing that "Bippittybapapapabippittybububu".
I love some salty peanuts with a nice strong cocktail.
After a few years, a couple of their songs became hits, they made money, and suddenly became much hotter due to fancy clothes and hairstylists.
Back when America was better. Black people singing country music seemed entirely normal in those days.
Is this like even appropriate?? Now we might wanna know, Where Has that Beautiful Musical Energy Gone?
Eat your ❤ out, Beyonce!
RIP Anita Pointer ....my favorite.
Gospel harmony great singers all three of them so underrated, should be in the rock and roll hall of fame. They do have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, one of the best groups in the 70s and 80s!!!
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!.
They were just fabulous performers...that's a fond memory of my youth is watching them jam 😊
Dig

Love this just thinking now of the place where I was when this came out😊Happy days 😊
All the Music in 79 was amazing. I was 12 and literally every top song that year seemed like a frigging masterpiece. Fire is one of sexiest songs of all time 🥵
Adding the tuba was an inspiration!
I grew up listening to the Pointer Sisters but am just realizing the depth of their talent and diverse genre’s of music!
Absolutely ❤❤❤
The best
So beautiful, so sad that a lot of them died before even reaching 80
This is exactly how I remember the Pointer Sisters when they performed in Vancouver in the '70s. No equals.
¿Donde fue esa presentacion?
1975 Cal Theater, Santa Rosa, California, USA. in the beautiful Sonoma County whine country. see my comment above... Buenos Dias!
@@RBDgeologist, Thanks, look I've always wanted to see how the Pointer Sister won the country music grammy award in 1974 please. I want to see.
Criminal that this amazing group is not mentioned more.
I'd say they were absolutely top-bracket in the 80s.
I always loved the Pointer Sisters.
Me too.
They are responsible for the writing fairytale.
Yes, may Anita rest in peace.
Trail blazer !!!!!
Why couldn't we hear what they were saying from, 24:48, to, 24:58?
I was the Stage Manager for the POINTER SISTERS,in the 80s, the girls were very nice and the band members were super cool we had a great time
I was the Stage Manager ,for them, on the Road, in the 80s, they were very nice, plus the band members were super cool, we had a great time, it was in the fast lane. 😊
I can’t watch these ladies without hearing “salt peanuts, salt peanuts,,”. 🎶😎
Exactly
I landed here because of all the hype about Beyonce's "country" album. I did a little searching on black artists in country, and imagine my surprise to find the likes of Ray Charles, Tina Turner, and ... The Pointer Sisters on the list. After watching/listening to some of their work, all I can say is, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, and especially The Pointer Sisters are awesome!
don't forget about Charlie Pride.
@RBDgeologist For sure. I was going for some less known artists. The Pointer Sisters' first Grammy was for a country song (Fairytale). They wrote it themselves, and it's a great song. The next year they were nominated for two Grammys, one country and one R&B. I've been checking out Darius Rucker too. He's got a fine voice and knows what country is.
@@briant7265 indeed. today's country sounds like rock and roll from some previous time. i thought the eagles played some good country but no comparison to patsy cline or hank or merle or elvin bishop or buck owens or bill kirchin or dwight yoakim. bakersfield "blues" cheers. rbd
