The ruby sapphire is beautiful, I personally want custom lenses and shape ever since watching your video. It has truly opened Pandora's box, from tints to shapes to sizes. I personally don't care for the Cartier name on the lense, but I can see why someone would want it, screams💰💲💲💲 Keep up the great work Robert! 😎
I could watch your videos all day. You explain things so simplistically and thoroughly at the same time. That Ruby sapphire tint is pure elegance and timeless 😍
I just bought the Cartier Picadilly frame in gold. And for some reason I love how the original lense gives a vintage reading glasses look. That simple plain look may be my go-to depending how they look on me ofcourse. Right now I’m wearing a vintage Must Louis Cartier frame and they definitely scream 80’s big frame. I appreciate your detailed videos that really helped me decide on a newer Cartier frame. 10/10!
I wish the c was popping out of the back (inside) the lenses than the front and was a little more miniature than boldly out pronounced. Anyway that's me being very minimal and simple. Your zeiss customization is the elegant. Great content. Robert, you're the best!
Hi Robert, I really enjoy your video lectures. I noted you said that older Cartier ‘Big C’ is unique in having a pointed nose bridge. I understand that Savile Row also offer a pointed bridge on some of their models.
Big C’s are my absolute favorite glasses could be worn everyday casually also goes well streetwear wise. I also love the old version of them but the new aren’t bad at all.
The horseshoe, I mean C, looks fine... either way they're a high quality frame made better by the addition of custom lenses. I'm still thinking of getting the ruby/sunset with sapphire flash. So many to choose from
Love your videos! I also loved how you "settled the score" on the brand being on the lens. That was super helpful as I have always wondered about it. Thanks man!
From the moment I discovered your channel (maybe been a week) until today, I've found more EXACT answers I've been looking for, than I could through intensive Google searches. Thank you! I was sold from the first video I watched (where you ranked glasses from Luxottica to Legendary), and now I'm even more sold. I like to buy glasses in person (because I like to see how it fits and looks), but I might just be swayed to have it done remotely. If I do that, how do I ensure I know how it'll end up looking and fitting? I assume you must have some useful tools to help with that.
We have a proven system for making sure they fit correctly, and in the small event that they don't we gladly offer a free exchange. In terms of style, my clients trust me to style them. During a consultation, I explain exactly why I think a frame will work for someone and go through everything from the shape to the material to the colour in great detail. The feedback we get from clients is incredible.
@@thespectaclefactory Thank you. Watched enough of your videos to have full confidence in your assessment of style (I've also been paying attention to how you style yourself aside from your glasses). I guess my first step is to ensure I have the budget set aside :)
I feel like you just want to push Zeiss product, or maybe haven’t experienced good lab work from other lens manufacturers. My lil brother sells Cartier’s and gets them customized for patients/customers as they like with or with out the Cartier logo, shoot even with their name on the lens if they choose. Has many lens labs to choose from. Just depends on what the customer desires as well as what lens material, frame style, lens style, customization etc. can be done with each patient’s rx prescription My lil bro just helped me out today to get my first pair of Cartier’s I got the old style gold with bunch of customizations it was the best and funnest glasses buying experience ever. Sorry very excited 🤓
We work with several labs. It's just I think Zeiss are the best. But that's cool! I'm so happy you decided to customise your Cartiers and I'm sure they will look awesome
Hey is the gold real on cartier glasses? Specifically the green lens, signature c de, with the c on both arms near the lenses , 2023 , it's in the website as of today 7/28/23
Hi, yes they are real gold! Drop us an email at hello@thespectaclefactory.com if you're interested in getting a pair and one of our team will be in touch
Hi, we offer free worldwide shipping and can customise your lenses however you like - email us at hello@thespectaclefactory.com and one of our team will be in touch
Though the most important consideration for choosing a lens tint is which color works best for you. Some people prefer certain lens colors and certain tints tend to work best for different uses.
I think if you offer custom lenses why stop there. If the client wants a logo it’s part of the customization process ( different colors to fill in the engravings or put there name or nick name )
I definitely don't mind engraving initials or a nickname! That's pretty cool actually. But copying a logo - I don't get it! But then, I hate logos in general except when they are subtle
I am trying to get the new gold ones that you have in the video like that but with the Cartier engraved in the lens. I was told in order to do so it would have to be sent to Cartier and will cost around 500 is that true???
Not necessarily. And Cartier don't engrave custom lenses so they are 100% lying to you. If you want us to make them for you, which I'm sure would cost less, email me rob@thespectaclefactory.com
I have a pair of old Carrier frames, can we work together so you can add the perfect tint? I am living in Luxembourg. i simply love the way you explain and the attention to details you show. Thank you
Hi, for using them as optical glasses, which index do you recommend for keeping the "flat" sense shape yet also not making them too brittle? Do you recommend going with aspheric lenses? ( quite a low prescription -2.75) . Best Regards
You could use an aspheric lens, but nowadays that's quite an old lens design. It's mainly about selecting a flat base curve but you can't go too flat or the glasses won't fit. It's quite a technical process which is why many people come to us to make their Cartier's for them
Hi Robert, this might be off topic but since I started watching your videos 6 months ago I’ve really gotten into frames, yesterday I found my Dream frames Stylewise from the brand Brioni, do they produce quality sunglasses ? 🙏🏻
No, that's not exactly what I meant. The original ones from Cartier will have the Cartier logo on the lens, but CUSTOM lenses should not have the Cartier logo - at least, that's according to Cartier themselves. You can still choose to have it on your custom lenses if you want, but I would recommend not to.
I see a bunch of Cartier authorized dealer with the Cartier logo on the lenses, as long as the dealer gets the work done at a Cartier authorized lab, they can engrave the Cartier logo and it is authentic right?
@@thespectaclefactory Even certain LensCrafters sell Cartier and they say they cannot make lenses, they must ship it to an authorized lab to do the work.
Maybe it's different in the US, but in Europe that's not how it works at all. I'd like to see the certificate which says they are authorised? Who told you they are authorised?
@@thespectaclefactory seems my comment keeps getting removed, but on Cartier's website they're listed as a dealer. they are located under Los Angeles, California United States

Maybe I can make them for you one day. And the name can be done, it's just not 'proper'
Thanks for your support, glad you enjoyed this one
Just imagine how those tints would look in a full rim frame! Or perhaps a wraparound frame. That would be awesome!!
Omg how do I buy the sunset violet with sapphire blue coating?!?

I prefer the old ‘Big C’, but customising either style is definitely the way to go ✅Zeiss lenses are the best 👍
Totally agree!
I have a pair of the big C with a platinum frame and a dark purple tint prescription they are 🔥
Nice!!!! Very nice.

Robert, you're the best!
That makes sense. Cartier also make the C decor frames which are a little more subtle
Favorite brand. I own the Panthere . My friend has owned the C with wood frame for decades. I plan own picking up the C for my wife
Nice!! I'd love to help with that when the time comes
I have a c decor for daily use and I prefer them a little bit bigger then standard but the same form
Yeah, that's definitely an option, as long as you go bigger

I don't really care for rimless glasses that much, but they work well on some people.
Best explanation
Glad you think so!
Great information Robert!!
I like the older picadilly more, the new one looks like a combination of a Picadilly and a Scala
Me too I think
I like the older design.
Love the classic frame and look to the newer model. It looks more original..

Does tht ct0011rs & the ct0330s have a difference in the shape of the stock lens or are they the same?
Talking about bespike glasses. Do you mean I should alter the height of the glasses or also the width?
Usually both, yes

Do guys do rx lens for the Cartier glasses?
Yes!
Which tint are you wearing on this video
Not really a fan of the new rendition- Will the old version still be available?
For now they are. In fact, we sell significantly more of the old version. But who knows if/when Cartier will choose to discontinue them.

What measurements do you recommend for the lense
Measurements will be unique to each person
Prefer no logo on lenses they look so much better

Where's your store at?
We're in the UK, and we ship all over the world
How much for the double C's Cartier
How is the sizing ?
The sizing should be customised to you
So the Big C’s with the name Cartier in the front lenses are most likely to be fake?

are the big C real gold?
Yes, it's plated in 23k real gold
