    Have the archer on my 5010. Never could get the gearing just right. But now it’s smooth as butter.

    Nice, short video but would like to see maybe a little more detailed video, showing the initial set up and making those (awesome) micro adjustments or explaining the benefits of that compared to traditional adjusting.
    Have mine on order though, excited for it

    • @JaredRMorgan
      @JaredRMorgan  Před 2 lety +1

      So to explain the micro adjust feature: when I owned AXS, I had an issue in gear 3. Would’ve been amazing to just micro adjust that gear by itself, bc that was the only gear with a ticking issue the others ran perfect. However, that’s not an option with AXS. You adjust one you adjust them all…so to fix gear 3, I had to compromise the fluidity everywhere else. Archer, however, allows the individual gear adjustment. Very smart.
      I feel like my video did an overview of the setup, but if there’s more you’d like to know I’ll always be here. You can even DM me on instagram if it’s something really nitty gritty. Hope you enjoy your setup, and thanks for stopping by to support.

      @@JaredRMorgan That makes sense and I'll definitely let you know if I have questions once I get mine. Appreciate the offer
      My comment was more in general though as my opinion so take it or leave it, not my channel ha...I really like your message and video topics but 2-3 minute videos just seem too short to truly cover the topic, whether it's a review/install or trail ride etc. if that makes sense. I agree with another commenter, sometimes these seem more commercially than a video that makes me want to keep coming back. The best channels, in my opinion, make you feel a connection between the channel and viewers. Again, just my opinion

    for me it is nessesary, I have issues with my thumb missaligning, and so far I've nto tried or seen a shifter that would fit me, but Archer D1X trail remote works well, and I am keen to try the paddle version too, along with the new batteries. The electronic shifting eliminated fatiguem, reduced the movement required, fitt me much better, and I could shift without pain, even if my thumb missaligned, with a regular shhfiter this would be painful.

    Hmm was hoping for a review but this was more like an infomercial. Would be cool with a direct comparison of weight, ease of battery swap, bulkiness so on vs the main competitor. As it stands now, I am still not convinced if not just getting a GX AXS isn't better even though i run shimano 12sp since they should be compatible enough to not make it a problem. Maybe make a more in depth vid? Would be cool.

    • @JaredRMorgan
      @JaredRMorgan  Před 2 lety +1

      I always talk about the aspects I'm stoked to talk about for the video, and I answer the further questions in the comments section. With that being said, I'll try to address your concerns. Direct comparison of weight, Not sure off-hand bc weight doesn't matter to me. It would be easy to find those numbers on each manufacturers website. I normally reserve the details folks can easily read for themselves for them to do since anyone can just rattle off spec sheets in a video. Battery swap is easier on AXS, but by no means is it hard on Archer. Remote can be charged on the bike, and batteries have a threaded cap on receiver you remove so you can dump them out.
      GX AXS kit would work on a Shimano chain, cassette, and crankset so you're not wrong there. You can always email me or message me on instagram if you have further questions. Like I said, I like to leave the door open for viewers to correspond with me directly. Take care!

      @@JaredRMorgan I understand it's not interesting to present all information easily available via websites, but in cycling weight and price is quite often a selling parameter and is therefore interesting for a lot of riders. Furthermore, weight is not always the same when you weigh it at home for some reason (not saying it's the case with Archer Components), which is why it can be cool to get it verified. It's just some feedback, I hope you found it constructive. As I see this product, it has a very well defined main competitor, and the pricetag is only a bit lower (here in EU) than this competitors offering. I absolutely love it when something new comes along and tries to compete with the big dogs, so I hope Archer will sell a lot of these.

      @JonasKastebo Před 2 lety

      @@TeamCykelholdif you see the derailleur as a consumable that you eventually will break or replace the math is much more in the favor of archers solution but if I just compare prices between converting from wires to AXS or archer with the difference in prices in EU I would go for AXS every day.

    • @JaredRMorgan
      @JaredRMorgan  Před 2 lety

      For the life of me, I can't remember if it could do that or not. I always shifted it gear by gear. I'm sorry I can't help you on this one. I want to say if you held the paddle down it would continue to jog through gears, but I'm not 100% on this.

    Archer shifts slower than the pre-existing cable shifting. Not sure how that’s an upgrade.

    • @JaredRMorgan
      @JaredRMorgan  Před 2 lety

      I had the speed batteries so to me it registered as quick. The Siskiu T7 that it was on had an inherent problem where suspension compression would cause the cables to fail rapidly. Getting rid of the cable fixed that problem. For me, that sounds like an upgrade.

    • @GokkunGuru
      @GokkunGuru Před 2 lety

      @@JaredRMorgan Sounds like a very specific one-off situation. In most cases where cable actuated drivetrains don't fail, then if one were to compare shifting performance pre-Archer vs post-Archer, it is quite obvious there's a delay with the Archer, even with the Sprint battery boost. There's this other dude on YT who's hacked this by using WolfTooth's Tanpan pulley mod to reduce the delay, but is the improvement better or equal to cable actuation, I'm not sure.
