Cons
The schools are so close together you really want to investigate and understand the school zoning lines. We literally live down the street from Duluth Middle but our kids are zoned for Coleman Middle. A lot of elementary schools so understand where your residence is zoned to. All the kids go to either Duluth High or Peachtree Ridge but Gwinnett offers some other options like Duke STEM High School right down Peachtree Industrial BLVD or the Healthcare themed high school right across Steve Reynolds.
The home and rental prices are skyrocketing so the sooner you move here, if you want, the better. The proximity makes this a great area. You can literally get to downtown Atlanta on a Weekend morning or late return night from a concert or event in 30 minutes.
Great points as a longtime resident. You are so right about the DPD speed traps.

Just an FYI, the city of Duluth Police will only issue tickets if you are going 16 miles over the posted speed limit.
That is what I’ve heard about the police throughout the state. I do my best not to test that out.
