I'm gonna have to try this, but I also love any kind of samosa!
Excellent. Let's up my cooking game another notch.
onion bhaji, vegetable pakoras and vegetable samosas is what i can get around here in indian restaurants. i really love all of them. if i had to choose i'd go with one of the first two choices though.
Probably all of them, if Iâm being frank. đ€·đ»ââïžđđ
You should do a cookbook.
"You're saying you take one more, you took four more".... Dad: "Yes, that's indian style" --- that's GOLD..... Awesome family! can't wait to try this myself.
lol he did that đ hope youâll enjoy the recipe!
This got me too lmao
My dad tricked me for yeeeeears by teaching me that dads needed at least 2 of everything to taste it; so everything from pieces of candy to plates of food fell to the Daddy Tax đđđ
When you said it was an appetizer and you wouldn't eat the whole thing I thought speak for yourself lol... looks delicious!
đ in all fairness, Max and I have eaten the whole dish by ourselves. I was just trying to persuade folks who are wary of fried food lol.
@@RainbowPlantLife lol I appreciate you trying to keep us quasi-healthy
@@RainbowPlantLife could it possibly work in the ninja foodie?
I think it's fair to say if I bake or air-fry it... all bets are off. It's mine and it's dinner if I want it to be.
The people worried about fried food need to calm down a notch. It looks delicious
Oh my goodness, Nisha your parents are so sweet. I love when they're featured in a segment. Your Dad cracks me up wanting to be a park ranger with his cute hat.
Thank you for the recipe, Nisha!
Heâs so cute right!! đ thanks for your sweet comment, Britny!

We are in Canada and my parents met in India during WWII. My mum Indian but reared in Burma. My dad - English blonde and blue eyes loved curry for his entire life. My mum would make some curry about twice a week and on holidays. For example. On Christmas we had a turkey, a steak and kidney pie/or roast beef and a lamb and boiled egg curry.
My dad always said ,even until his death here in Canada - he had never had as amazing Chinese food as he did in India.
I appreciate how you explain the origins and history behind the dish! Food is such a fascinating part of all human history!
Your excitement when cooking is so genuine and pure. You make me want to keep exploring in the kitchen.
Ps. Your dad is the cutest flippin' thing!! He's so proud of his hat! đ Machu Pichu is on my bucket list. I wish I could be a park ranger too buddy! This planet is so fun to explore!
đ„° thanks for your lovely comment Ashley! I agree, I find food history and culture so interesting (as well as this planet) and glad youâre excited to explore more!
I didn't feel like deep frying, but since your dad said the baked version was a little dry I tried to adapt the recipe a little bit: I didn't add any batter and simply roasted the cauliflower in the oven with a bit of oil and spices, and then coated it with the sauce. It was surely less crispy, but definitely not dry! Maybe a good compromise for those who don't want to deep fry
Awesome idea!
Try air fryer!
So how could it be gobhi manchurian? Its just gobhi ki sabzi...
@@a_mjn_l_l Yes, I don't claim that this is true to the original recipe presented in the video
Even though deep fried food can taste heavenly, my stomach doesnât like it anymore afterI got my gastric band. So Iâll skip that part too and stirfry it in the wok.
This takes me back to college in Bangalore with the only two Indian friends I made the whole year I was there, Oli and Mo! We would gobble down the canteen's Gobi Manchurian, super oily and red with I think food colour...and it was the most delicious thing in the world to us! Miss them, and the street version of this dish. Thanks for the memories
Your Dad is so right! Enjoy the deep fried version - the best - as a special treat. It's unrivalled. Love your parents' taste testing x
Yes, I totally agree with him! So lovely to hear you enjoyed the taste test :)
Add it to the room temp sauce. I think you just taught me why I have issues with a lot of recipes like orange chicken. Thank you!
I literally tried this dish in Goa few years back, i had never heard of it and when i tried it blew my socks away!!! I still remember the taste of it đ€€ My partner who isnât particularly a huge cauliflower fan thought it was one of the best dishes everrrr
I just learned a little about Goa, they speak portuguĂȘs there. Massa!
This dish is most commonly made with chicken maybe your boyfriend prefers that
@@Goriaas Whether it's chicken or Gobi Manchurian I love both of them. It's full of flavor and the fushion of Chinese and indian flavor.
@@Goriaas actually in india the most popular version is cauliflower or veg, although many people do eat the chicken one too
Same, I wasn't into cauliflowers until I tried this dish!
For the past 2 weeks I made this recipe 3 times. It's unbelievably delicious and crispy. I made it with broccoli instead of cauliflower and it still was delicious. Thank you for the great ideas!
Youâre my favorite vegan CZcams chef not just because your food is amazing but also Iâm white and my gf is Indian and currently her parents donât accept me but one day I hope they come around and Iâll be able to cook one of your fantastic dishes for them.
Iâm honored to hear it, AJ! Some Indian parents can be tough nuts to crack, but usually in my experience, once they know their children are happy and doing well, they eventually come around! I hope they will come around soon and that youâll be able to cook for them one day!
Impress them with cooking Indian dishes for them and respecting their culture. Be good to them and their daughter. They will eventually come around
so cute â€ïž
if you flaunt just your culinary skills,as a male, then chances of accepting you by Indian family will go even lesser :)) . May be you dont stop with showing only the cooking prowess but can go on to show your care for gf & some appreciation for their lifestyle & culture. Good luck & Best wishes!!
Best of luck! I hope they come around eventually. And yes as most people suggested show them ur culinary đ© đȘ đź
I love it whenever your parents are on the channel. I know they will give an honest opinion, no bs⊠and theyâll always make us laugh somehow. That looks delicious Nisha, canât wait to try it!
Thank you for creating recipes that aren't so healthy all the good stuff is taken out! (Example: bloggers who create vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, soy-free cheesecakes!) If we eat right most of the time, there is room for the less healthy stuff on occasion and I appreciate you for also creating great-tasting "sometimes" foods.
Yesss, absolutely! While I think itâs important to eat a diet rich in veggies and legumes and whole grains, I also think food (and life) is meant to be enjoyed!
Just found this channel..I already follow some massive channels that show amazing authentic dishes and thought, what is this channel going to show that is so different. I must say, I am impressed with how sweet this lady is and her humility and just charming nature. More power to you! Stay blessed! And the dishes are amazing too!
Love her interaction with her loving parents. They are so proud.
Nice to see the family involved with the taste test. thanks for posting
Itâs amazing that I actually take your parent approval seriously
đ theyâd be honored to hear that!
Hey, honestly thank you so much for posting this. Getting into some of these more heavily-spiced dishes can be very intimidating because there are so many combinations and even sources and subtle variations! You presented this in a really fun, light, approachable way!
I'm not Indian myself but for some reason grew up around a large Indian community and have always eaten Indian food growing up. It's literally to the point where now I feel like Indian food is a home-food/comfort-food to me (as WELL as an exciting and fun option when dining out!) I just have so much love for it, as some who didn't quite have their own Indian auntie but certainly spent a lot of time around my friends' Indian aunties!
Anyways, it's been a while now that I've been wanting to make my own dishes instead of blowing all my money dining out all the time! This will be my first step!
Some of my favorite dishes have come about when different cultures or ingredients come crashing together. Gobi Manchurian is one of the best! Itâs a kind of magic, the way that the different influences come together.
Your reaction to tasting the dish - so cute! It makes me want to make this dish immediately!
âșïž thanks Jeanie! Itâs so good, hope youâll enjoy it as much as I did!
I love this appetizer when I go to my favorite Indian restaurant, Saffrons to eat. I am going to the store right now to get everything I need to make this. Thank you for this recipe. And I just love your enthusiasm and care of all your dishes and parents.
Loved the way you explained things and involved your parents. Very few celebrities bring in their parents, and they are so precious. God bless you.
I love Indian food and this looks amazing and I'll definitely give it a go. Thank you đ
Excited for you to try it, Hannah! It's such a fun and delicious dish!
Please please make more Indian inspired weeknight easy/fast recipes! My fam loves the lentil curry and would love more easy recipes like that
Glad to see that your parents are so down to earth and made good constructive criticism and praise that was informative, will be trying it myself..thanks
Looks so delicious:) And I love your taste testers. I have to thank your dad for his enthusiastic describtion of roasting mustard seeds (pop, pop, pop) on a different occasion. They are locally well available, and I have neglected them before - so tasty, in almost all dishes!
You are gold...your enthusiasm, amazing recipes, ease of conversation and genuine smile.
Thank you so much
Came for the recipe... subscribed because of that taste test with your parents. That was wholesome, fun, and just delightful.
This is soooooo Good! Thanks. Loved the tip about waiting for the sauce to cool before mixing with the Gobi
SLAYYYY i just stumbled upon your change not too many moons ago and i've been introducing my family to indian food and we're all OBSESSED with gobi manchurian!! you're a LIFE SAVER ! i'm definitely going to make this ASAP
I had this dish in a restaurant the other day and was blown away.
Thank you so much for showing us how to make it.
Love your parents they make me smile đ
Hilarious đ Dad canât stop himself đ
To be fair, those look soo good. I wouldâve devoured the whole bowl
Lol he's a man who knows what he likes!
Made this in an air fryer using the modified instructions from your website. So, so good! Thank you for sharing this!
I know in my heart that I could enjoy that meal. Thanks for sharing your recipes and techniques!
Super interesting history and everything looks amazing đ canât wait to try it!
Woohoo đ„ł glad youâre excited to try it!
I wish I could post a photo of how my dish turned out, because it looks amazing and tastes EVEN BETTER!! I'm on a special diet so I used coconut sugar, cassava flour, tamari and sugarless ketchup. And i put a TON of scallions and cilantro on top! I am new to indian food and I am now in love with indian-asian fusion!! 10/10
Also I fried in avacado oil to make it "healthier."
I made it today and it turned out delicious! thanks for the recipe!!
Ooohhh so excited for this one! Iâm gonna have to try đ
Is it weird that I'm excited for you to try it? đđ€
@@RainbowPlantLife not weird at all! Iâll tag you on Instagram so you can see! Your recipes are staples in my kitchen đ
Gobi Manchurian is hands down the best app ever. I just discovered a local restaurant that does Indian pizza. They have a gobi Manchurian pizza and itâs amazing
love the camera work, editing, style and pace. As if that wasn't enough I am so glad that you delight us without harming animals. Way to go
Love seeing King Deepak on the channel, my favourite food critic.

I really like this video format! Thanks for the recipe.
This looks great! I'm having breakfast and enjoying your video. Your parents are the icing on the cake... put a huge smile on my day!
Thanks for watching Vanessa! My parents will be delighted to hear that, especially because my mom loves cake đ đ°
This was such a great episode. Thank you for sharing â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
đ„° thanks so much, Melissa!
This looks so good. I can't wait to try it! Thank you for the recipe.
Love the true and honest comments from the parents. Always keeping you honest! đ
I've never had this before, looks awesome! Definitely trying this out. Thanks for sharing your tasty recipe
I think you'll love it :) Can't wait to hear what you think!
Everything about this is perfect. I am a HUGE Indian food/indo-chinese food fan and this is one of my all-time favorite dishes. We have some places here in Austin that serve some of the best Gobi Manchurian I've ever had. Most every recipe I tried at home was lacking that tomato-ey sweetness. Excellent call with the ketchup! I made it and it was spot on. Exactly what I've been looking for for years! Liked, subscribed, and definitely looking at all your recipes now! Your parents were also hilarious!
Thanks for sharing, it looks delicious. I love your taste testers. đđ»đ
Loved it!!
I love this video! The food looks good and it looks like something I wouldn't mess up, at home. Also your parents are lovely....the apple didn't fall far from the tree, at all. Thank you for the amazing videos, I binge watch them everyday. đđŸđđđŸ
That was great. I love your folks. I'm definitely going to try to make this.
your videos are so well made and educational! you need to have your own show on tv!!
I canât wait to try this recipe! Your parents are adorable. Thanks for sharing your tips.
This looks amazing!!!! I have to make this next paycheck
Iâm sure there were many laughs and warm hugs growing up with your parents.
I've never had an Indian appetizer and rarely eat deep fried foods but would definitely give this a try!
Made this tonight for the Super Bowl and it was a huge hit! Definitely going on the list of favorites.
Sister my favorite Indian food: Naan (cooked in a tandoori oven) and dhal. I was in India for a looooooong time, primarily the MacLeod Ganj area (I wanted to see the Dalai Lama but he wasn't there) and Rishikesh (I used to translate a weekly magazine about a guru who lived in Rishikesh. My stomach is very delicate and I can only eat light food. In MacLeod Ganj, I found freshly baked bread, homemade peanut butter, Chinese noodles and other veggies. There are many Western people in MacLeod Ganj so you can find all kinds of food but for vegans you have to pay attention because they use dairy everywhere. Rishikesh, on the other hand, is a very spiritual small town by the Ganga River surrounded by ashrams. I was so blessed, I found a healthy restaurant with vegan food who cooked me spaghetti (yep, I was born and raised in Italy and I love pasta!) and all sorts of healthy vegan meals. The place was inside a health center which also offers massages, and a spa. Absolutely delicious! Then I found a Hare Krishna restaurant which offered incredibly tasty vegetarian and vegan dishes (the vegan options were marked on the menu), very healthy and nutritious too. And when I was feeling ill, the young hotel manager where I was staying (a cheap one with river view), cooked dhal and rice for me: the best medicine and very tasty too!
Thank you all for the great time and wonderful food.

@Lulu Ma Its a whole subcontinent no one can complete that
I love when you have your parents on; the coolest tasters around. Thank you sweetie; stay well.
Woo hoo! I've been waiting for this one. Thanks
Glad youâve been excited for it, itâs sooo good!
Iâve never had this dish before! Looking forward to tasting it. Love your parents so much, they are always a fun addition to your videos.
Delicious! I tried this recipe exactly as written (though I slightly increased proportions for the sauce) and it came out amazing. Will be a staple in my household now. Thank you!
I made this today (Finally!!) and it was delicious! I had it for my lunch & could have eaten the whole thing it was soooo good!! Thanks for sharing such wonderful dishes!! I love your videos!!!â€ïž
ZOMG! We just made this and itâs mind blowing đ€Ż!! We didnât fry it, we air fried it and it was amazing!!! We added panko, cooked at 450 and kept an eye on it. It was approximately 25 minutes in the fryer. (We have a Breville smart oven pro). Thank you Nisha! Another incredibly flavorful dish!!! đ
Ty. I also have a breville
This is certainly my favorite Indian dish. Thank you for sharing the recipe. My favorite part of course is the taste test by your parents. Thank you for sharing them đ
YES!!! I have been waiting for this video since you first teased it on Instagram.
Just made this today, frying the gobi took the most amount of time. But the tips around double fry and cooled down sauce was fantastic. Flavour was awesome and dish was sooooo crispy and delicious. Perfect dry gobi munchurian!!!! Thank you
Hand behind the back dad, love it! Classic
Thank you thank you so much! Absolutely LOVE Gobi Manchurian!! đ Love your recipes and videos too.
It's SO good, right? Thanks Maxine, so happy you enjoy my recipes and videos :)
I made the baked version, and we all loved it! I air-fried the cauli ahead of battering it, to give it some extra flavor and texture, then followed the steps. I used corn flake crumbs as the final dip over the batter and it was nice and crunchy, and the side sauce is delicious.
Made this as an app for a dinner party this past weekend and it was a hit!! So delicious!
I just loved you in this video especially with your parents as "taste testers". I am sure eating this food with them is very special. They were great!
This looks freaking amazing. I can't wait to try it. I really enjoyed your teaching style too. Very fun.
I can't wait to make this. This is my most favorite dish and is my go to order whenever I go to an Indian restaurant. Plus mali kofta. Sooo yum! Thank you for this recipe! Off to look for a wok and a deep fryer
IHi! I've just discovered your channel, and I'm so thrilled! How lovely are your recipes...and your family!!! Your recipes are so good; they are very well explained, step by step, easy to understand/follow (even for foreigners: personnal belief, of course). I really want to try this one! I live in France, in Bretagne, a region where cauliflowers are grown all year. I will try this recipe for my family (6 children= surely without the single green pepper's membranes, ough!). Many thanks,... et bonne continuation!
that looks so good, gotta try it. Thank you
Your parents are so awesome, your dad floored me when he said âIndian styleâ đ 13:00

Just discovered your channel, looking forward to following and getting a broader vocabulary of south Asian food. This should be fun
I made your chilli (mostly following the recipe) and it was awesome, This dish looks entirely something I'd like, looking forward to trying it! Awesome channel!
I love to cook (doesn't always workđ) so I'm always excited when a new recipe pops up on my YT homepage. The photo of this dish looked so mouth-wateringly good I had to check it out. Thanks for your excellent recipe and demo, from a new subscriber (Paddy, in Cornwall, UK).đđđ
Love your parents! And the dish looks and sounds amazing đ xx
There's an Indian restaurant in Pittsburgh I loved in college... I'd always get this to share with friends and then chana saag (this was before I was vegan). I can't wait to try this recipe out
Mmm sounds like a delicious order! Hope you'll love this recipe!
I just made this and oh my gosh!!! DELICIOUS!
I doubled the sauce and served it over noodles. I also only used 1 Serrano that I removed the seeds from and itâs still a wee bit too spicy.
My picky 11 year old is chowing down and I used the bake method.
Love love love this.
That's what we also do in India too. Also its quite a versatile dish, you can add baby corn, paneer/tofu or if you are non-vegetarian boneless chicken/prawn & fish. You can also serve it with rice (fried rice to be more specific) just like you did with noodles( again a common Street dish in India), it will be a full course meal on of its own. Just have a cola/fizz or some soothing drink to accompany this; like a mint or something.
Looks absolutely delicious! I love your mum and dad, too! đ
