- Hi, I'm Al Dworsky and I believe too many left-handed beginners get frustrated and quit guitar. Why? Because the right hand-the hand that makes the chords -is too hard at first in standard tuning.
DADGAD tuning solves that problem. You can make beautiful chords easily with just one or two fingers. This frees you up to focus on your left hand, the hand that generates the rhythm. And that's going to make it possible for you to sound like a real guitar player right from the start. That's what I show you how to do in my new video: "Left-Handed Guitar for Beginners: How to Sound Good Fast with DADGAD Tuning" available as a DVD or a download at www.dancinghands.com. This is lesson 3 (out of 11 lessons) in that video.
In the video, I give you clear instruction that goes nice and slow, step by bite-sized step, in lessons that are as beautiful musically as they are visually. Every chord, technique, and pattern is shown from a player's eye view and a side view, and all are illustrated in backyard musical performances by me and Indie-award-winning guitarist Dean Magraw or vocalist Betsy Sansby.
In the past, I've created over 20 bestselling and award-winning instructional books and videos for drummers and other musicians, including How to Play Djembe, The Joy of Six for Piano, and A Rhythmic Vocabulary. All are distributed by Mel Bay and are available at www.dancinghands.com. - Hudba
excellent tutorial. I especially liked the idea that the camera angle is from the guitarists view.
Yes, helps for sure
Thank you so much! When I was a teenager, I was persuaded by many store reps that I "should" play righty, and quit after a year because it felt so unnatural for me. 10+ years later, I finally bought my first left-handed guitar, and am so excited to try out your DVD. Great to find some resources out there for lefties.
Just got my first guitar ever, would love to try something new, I am right handed, but because of disablements I have to play left handed. Wish me luck
any progres?
today i'm starting my swich to lef handed
@@livingsmooth how is that going?
Thank you GCH, watching your videos have helped me big time, please let there be more.
Thank you so much. Looking at your video, has gotten me focused, and catching on to what you're saying.
Thank you for this great tutorial. I've been wanting to play guitar for many years and finally got my left-handed guitar. My fingers are short so learning chords is quite challenging. But I can certainly do the one finger chords! I'm going to check out your other videos--I hope they are as easy as this one! :)
i like it. Very helpful
thanks man
Wow. Nice video
You are awesome. I have been wanting to learn this for a long time, but it just seemed impossible being left handed now i see hope.

hipnosys?
Iam going to have to switch to a left handed guitar, i cannot get chords properly as cut off my index finger between the 1st and 2nd knuckle ( put back on), also crushed 2nd and 3rd fingers in an accident. so i can not bend first knuckles on 1st 2nd and 3rd fingers. its a real pain. I can use my left hand to pick strings very well.
So frustrating so going to go and buy a left handed guitar.
:)
Check out Billy Joe Shaver. He lost several fingers in a sawmill accident, but dozens of famous people have recorded his songs: Waylon, Willie, Elvis, Dylan - and he plays often around Texas and the South.
I just got my first guitar today, do I have to go to school to learn or I can learn on CZcams?
You are Welcome both whatever is best for u it doesn’t matter my friend 😊😊
