  • Whiskey Before Breakfast is an old time fiddle standard. In this lesson I demonstrate how to play the tune, with ideas about bowing- such as using the Georgia Shuffle and the Drop Bow, and talk about using open string drones and syncopation.

    That's Speed the Plough!!

      I'm no expert but I believe "Speed the Plough" is a reel while this on is a jig. And TBH, I don't hear much of a resemblance in the melodies.

      I learned a ton... look up the sheet music and learn the notes, then come back to this video for the bowing patterns & ornamentation and tell me there's nothing useful to learn in this video.

      Sounds like you might need to concentrate on some easier fiddle tunes, build up your skills, and then come back to this, a fiddle tune requiring more advanced skills. Best wishes.
