- Whiskey Before Breakfast is an old time fiddle standard. In this lesson I demonstrate how to play the tune, with ideas about bowing- such as using the Georgia Shuffle and the Drop Bow, and talk about using open string drones and syncopation.

I look forward to the book. I'm watching this with a "Whiskey Before Dinner"...!! ;-)
The Georgia shuffle discussion was especially helpful for me.
Glad to hear it!
Once I get my fiddle back from a luthier, I plan on utilizing your videos. Thank you!
Thankyou
You're welcome Kay!
Another great video! Thank you
Thanks Carmel!
Nice job.
Thanks!
another great lesson!
Thanks Jimmy!
That's Speed the Plough!!
I'm no expert but I believe "Speed the Plough" is a reel while this on is a jig. And TBH, I don't hear much of a resemblance in the melodies.
Still looking for you to teach something. You demonstrated, you did not teach as the title claimed. Disappointing.
I learned a ton... look up the sheet music and learn the notes, then come back to this video for the bowing patterns & ornamentation and tell me there's nothing useful to learn in this video.
*I* learn by listening. No lesson, I can still pick it up. Glad to have him here!
Sounds like you might need to concentrate on some easier fiddle tunes, build up your skills, and then come back to this, a fiddle tune requiring more advanced skills. Best wishes.
