Once again sir, I cannot thank you enough. I just completed the 20 module farm and I'm so happy with the result. This thing is absolutely insane. In the past I hated any Iron farm as they were painfully slow or too complex to build. After building few modules I understood how easy this farm was. I was considering building more modules (on upper level) but unfortunately my device is lagging. So I might hold on to that thought until I upgrade to a better device. But aside from all that. thank you so much for this farm. You are awesome ❤️
I now have a better understanding of why this wouldn't work in creative in building the whole farm. Yes it's very time consuming. As you build it, you get to see your accomplishment.
I love knowing how and why something works. Thank you for these videos... we both know I am fine with 1 10 or 20 Villager Farm... and I would never have the Patience to walk them in so slowly... and my anger at myself for messing it up would not be pretty either. But I really am glad that you have the patience to not only figure out how to do this, but to do it AND record it for us. And YAY SHORTS!!!
Yeah it’s not a farm I recommend for the average person. Having a second monitor really helps because you can watch tv or listen to music. It’s also completely overkill for the average person but this is a server and on top of that like everything there is a certain segment that they only want the maximum of anything. The shorts. Well I’m still learning how to do that exactly. Hopefully tomorrow’s is better. I am about to record it.
Wow ok so just alot patience and preparation Ngl I fully expected that the village would stretch at some point but now I see why your farm works coz you're infact preventing the village from stretching
It’s very much just prep work and patience. Once the prep work is done it’s really not that bad but it’s a lot of material. I can’t even estimate how many cobblestone make up the paths.
When I saw this at first I thought it would be impossible for me to build. I just finished stacking 3 farms and yes it's time consuming but it is really easy and also satisfying after finishing a module. Thanks mate for such a simple design and such an elaborate explanation. I have a couple of questions. 1. If one farm is on top of another farm then will the golems from bottom farm would spawn on top farm? 2. Can I build the collection system below on ground level if I don't wanna use ice lines? I mean ice is not the issue but I like all the farms just floating in the air without anything connected with them.
It’s not hard if you pay attention and are willing to put in the time. Hopefully I’ve explained it well enough that people can use this to do however big of a farm they choose. Yes you can do the collection further down if you choose to do so.
@@0ldGuyI need some help regarding afk spot. Can you tell me where do I have to put my afk spot in the farm if I decide to build the version that you show in start of the video? I've currently built 10 modules (the middles 2 rows)
There isn’t a “best distance” to afk vertically but there is a max distance vertically. The formula is sim distance x8 +12. For horizontal the afk distance is sim distance x8 +32. So on sim 4. It’s 44 vertical and 64 horizontal
@witten1239 you can only move them at the speed at which they claim the bed and rail at any speed is going to be too fast my friend OareTV made an interesting flying machine that moves them instead of walkways but same principle

I think i am going to stick to the beginner method of nighttime bed walking. This rookie is part villager. If i can do it wrong, i will. Thanks for these videos and all the patience in helping me.
I’m always glad to help. Yeah the nighttime bed method is usually easier for people to visualize than the boat method. A lot of people are visual learners so it’s important to have multiple options
Any idea why golems rates would be extremely slow? Even after they start spawning it could be 20-30 minutes before i see another. The design i used, Prowl's, worked fine in the past but appears to be broken in recent updates.
Golems spawning every 20 minutes sounds like a ts timer issue. It means the golems are getting confused as to which village they belong to. Which is part of the reason I space them like I do. To avoid that issue. I’ll talk about that in part 3. Good question.
That’s normal. It will start again once you allow another day night cycle. It happens to some people and some people it doesn’t. If after say 39 min it hasn’t restarted then you might have an actual problem
i actually did design exactly what you are describing about 2 years ago, here it is, czcams.com/video/W5kZy_nNhmg/video.htmlsi=OX9tLyO98AWShlHz while there isnt a hard and fast rule about how close you can stack them it is really going to depend on your design, however if you get them too close you will encounter an issue where they both get locked up and dont spawn golems, there is a timer called the ts timer, that stands for time stamp and it has to do with village dwellers leaving a village, its too complicated to explain in a comment but great question, maybe ill do a video explaining that,
Just curious can you still kill a golem from one village in another village? Can I just have all the golems go to one point in the center instead of building item transport? Let's say I only do 5 or 6 villages and not go as big would it be possible to just push all the golems to the center?
Yes and no. You can transfer golems from one village to another. So yes to that question. Could you build a water stream to move all of the golems to a central village the answer is no for a few reasons. 1 that would be incredibly slow. Since your golem caps per village are set by the number of villagers it’s important to clear those caps reasonably quickly. So you would just be hurting the rates for all your farms. Reason 2 is space. So on sin4 golems are only going to spawn at a maximum of 64 blocks horizontally but you are gonna need 96 blocks horizontally to transfer them and even then you can get an issue where the golem doesn’t transfer smoothly due to lag or whatever and it doesn’t instantly clear the cap. So then the golem has to be timed out through the ts timer which is 20 minutes. Could you do it vertically maybe under the right circumstances maybe since you don’t have to care about spawning ranges in your dump village.
That is an option. Or buttons or glass or leaves. This farm as you can tell was designed to be small so that I could stack a lot of them in sim4. It was not designed to be on the ground. It needs to be at least 6 blocks off the ground. I’m pretty sure I said that in the video.
Just to make sure but this still works as of 1.20+ right? Because a group few of people in Prowl’s comment section in his Iron Stacking tutorial said the first layer worked but then the second layer and beyond broke it. I know this isn’t vertical stacking like his, but I just wanted to make sure before I built it
I can’t verify what someone else has built. Most likely they built the additional layers beyond the afk range. So the partial second layer I have built on my server is still currently working.
Also I’m on prowls discord. If there is ever a discussion you think I should be involved in please feel free to ping me. I don’t mind explaining things but don’t have time to monitor all of the internet. I don’t mind pings at all.
There isn’t a magic number. I did 14 blocks between farms from one direction and then including the walls of the farms it gives me 16 total blocks but along the other axis I chunk aligned them so 16 blocks. The important thing is that they are all within sim distance and they are all within afk distance. As far as vertical I take the afk range(in this case 44 blocks. 88total) and I divide that into 5 layers so the lowest one would be 44 blocks down then the next one up would be 22 blocks down. Then one at my afk y level. Then 22 blocks up and finally 44 blocks up.

I almost didn’t reply to this message because you said villager leader. No such villager exists. The problem with trying to use a bell to verify if you have 2 villages of 20 or a single village of 40 is that it won’t prove that. See you can have multiple bells per village. A bell isn’t magic. It’s the same as a bed or a workstation. A bell however has a capacity of 20 villagers so if you have 2 villages of 20 or a single village of 40 the same number of bells would be claimed. There are no leaders. That’s nonsense. I should make a video about why this is nonsense.
I take it back. You can use bells to see if you have one village or two. But not for the reason that there’s a village leader or any of that. Place 2 bells in the same village. Place one. Wait for villagers to link to it. Then place down the second. Make sure it is more than 16 blocks from any of the villagers from the other village. If the villagers from village 2 link to it then it is a single village.
@@0ldGuy Last question. When I'm in the middle of stacking the second iron farm, the first one I build stops working. This is with just the first two villagers walked in and 20 beds. @markopre7955 there is a phenomenon that some people encounter where when they bring in another village the first one stops working for 20 minutes. so do you do this with the entire village? and if I send them through a nether portal, can It still work? I'm wondering because the person who suggested it had no info about it.
This is 20 villages. If by them you mean golems yeah you can send them through a nether portal at each farm but typically that’s more trouble than it’s worth.
Im just gonna add 100villagers to my iron farm and then afk. 10 golums at a time for a night should be more iron than i ever need. Good video just complex.
It doesn’t matter how many villagers you put into a single village it’s gonna max out at an average of 411/hr. So unless you are gonna use them fur trading you won’t really see any benefit above 40 villagers in a single village. I’ll save you the lag. I get that this type of build isn’t for everyone and I wouldn’t recommend anything this big for an individual world because it’s just not worth it. However this is for an entire server. I appreciate your support even if this isn’t for you.
@@mikebro420 no. You could potentially make it slower by adding laggy things like gold farms and things like that but a perimeter wont increase rates. Golems have a separate spawning algorithm that is separate from all other mobs. Even cats don’t have the same algorithm. So dig a perimeter if you want to but don’t feel like you need to.
It differs. Because on one axis I chunk aligned them so 16 blocks. But on the other axis I spaced them 14 blocks so they would fit both in afk range and sim distance 4 now the 14 blocks plus the walls of the farms gives me a total separation of 16 total blocks but the air gap is only 14 blocks. I did this so that they would fit but also so that villagers from one farm can’t detect any poi from the next village to avoid any potential problems

@@celticlion and while I know you believe you followed the directions exactly and didn’t make any mistakes clearly you did. So like I’ve said it takes practice.
Yes but unless you are going to go turn them all on or off every time you want to use them and deal with all the bugs associated with them like them falling out of the world or losing their owner data. Not to mention the additional lag from the pistons or trapdoors along with the pulsing red stone for only a slight gain. Trading is not an issue. Keep in mind a day night cycle is 20 min and sometimes villagers need to complete a work cycle in order to get the tag “has worked” on order to spawn golems.
@@0ldGuy 😯thanks, and one more question, if 2 villages get mixed and I wanna get rid of one villages and again stack a villager on the same platform, can I normally break beds, workstation and villagers and again do stacking?
You sure can. Neither will function but you can do that. Well at least not on sim 4 as the vertical afk range for iron farms would be 44 blocks. The formula for afk range is sim distance x 8 + 12. Maybe that will be tomorrow’s short. Great question. So you’d have to play at sim6 to do that.
There is no actual minimum but if you get them too close you start having issues. Now in this farm they are 16 blocks but 2 of those blocks are the walls. So 14 blocks between the outside walls.
@@a.person638 that seems to be a phenomenon that some people experience but it will resolve itself if you just let it continue to run. So just afk for like 20 min and most likely it will just go back to working just like it gud before.

so do you do this with the entire village? and if I send them through a nether portal, can It still work? I'm wondering because the person who suggested it had no info about it.
This is 20 villages. If by them you mean golems yeah you can send them through a nether portal at each farm but typically that’s more trouble than it’s worth.
@@0ldGuy I mean the villagers. like move them to the 100 block platform and move them from there.
@plateofbacon877 yes. That would work.
If i dug out a 9x9 chunk area would the farm be any different with nothing else around but this massive farm?
I’m not sure I understand what it is you are asking. Different in what way?
@@0ldGuy Being the only thing built, in this 9x9 chunk dig out will it change rates at all?
@@mikebro420 no. You could potentially make it slower by adding laggy things like gold farms and things like that but a perimeter wont increase rates. Golems have a separate spawning algorithm that is separate from all other mobs. Even cats don’t have the same algorithm. So dig a perimeter if you want to but don’t feel like you need to.
on your server, whats the gaps between each iron farm? as noone says how much
Okay so I built this and put 2 villagers 160 blocks away in a boat. First pod got it done, but the second pod merged with the first. How do I keep them from merging? First pod is totally boxed in not visible and they still merged. And I followed your steps exactly.
This is a very advanced farm. It is something that not everyone is going to be able to build it. I don’t know how to help you as I can’t see what you have done. I understand that is a frustrating answer. The only thing I can tell you is that it takes a lot of practice. I recommend doing it a few times in creative before jumping into survival to do it.
@@0ldGuy I followed your steps. I have the pods in their own chunks. The breed villagers are 100+ away. Pods are made of smooth stone. The two pods in question are 40 or so apart.
@@celticlion The problem is that I can’t see what you’ve done. If you have a specific question I could answer that but CZcams comments are terrible for trying to guide someone through it.
@@0ldGuy I asked how do I keep them from merging in my comment? I literally did everything. Bed hop, at night, no visible eye linking and yet the minute I got the next 2 settled into pod B bam 2 golems at B and none at A because they merged. If I have to do 97 between every pod that would be nuts, yet I saw in other replies you had yours at 16 and 14.
@@celticlion and while I know you believe you followed the directions exactly and didn’t make any mistakes clearly you did. So like I’ve said it takes practice.
What is the spacing distance for each spawning platform?
I will have the video out tomorrow that explains all of that as there are a couple of options.
Since implaing trident killer kill golem significantly faster than lava.... does it helps with rates ?
Yes but unless you are going to go turn them all on or off every time you want to use them and deal with all the bugs associated with them like them falling out of the world or losing their owner data. Not to mention the additional lag from the pistons or trapdoors along with the pulsing red stone for only a slight gain. Then yes it would slightly boost it but not by enough to justify the additional work and maintenance requires to keep the trident killers functions.
@@0ldGuycan you use a portal based design or does that not work?
@@SejunKim-hw6rc you can but why would you? It would require 2 players. It’s more dangerous because if the nether side player disconnected then you would have excessive entities that would cause crashes. There’s a lot of downside. I prefer things to just work. While there are choices to do this or do that I choose not to because of potential drawbacks from those things.
do you mind if i use this tech to make a lets play build 1st then a tut on it at a later date? will give cred for tech info
I make videos to help people so if I’ve helped you then go ahead and feature it in your let’s play.

Hlo i build this staking irok farm 3 times, at starting it was working pretty well but when i do trading with the first village's villagers. The first village doesn't Spawning iron golems but the others 2 were spawning, is trading is the problem or something else. I am constantly looking that first village iron farm for around 6-7 minutes
Trading is not an issue. Keep in mind a day night cycle is 20 min and sometimes villagers need to complete a work cycle in order to get the tag “has worked” on order to spawn golems.
@@0ldGuy ohh I see, btw how far should it be to stack vertically?
@hellboy3257 as far as vertically I would keep them at least 12 blocks apart.
@@0ldGuy 😯thanks, and one more question, if 2 villages get mixed and I wanna get rid of one villages and again stack a villager on the same platform, can I normally break beds, workstation and villagers and again do stacking?
can we just make 2 iron farm atw height 0 and 100, then afk in the middle?
You sure can. Neither will function but you can do that. Well at least not on sim 4 as the vertical afk range for iron farms would be 44 blocks. The formula for afk range is sim distance x 8 + 12. Maybe that will be tomorrow’s short. Great question. So you’d have to play at sim6 to do that.
@@0ldGuy thx 4 the info, i hope you keep making survival series dude
i appreciate that, i actually have quite a bit of survival stuff planned @@jamzqool
How far apart do the iron farms have to be?
There is no actual minimum but if you get them too close you start having issues. Now in this farm they are 16 blocks but 2 of those blocks are the walls. So 14 blocks between the outside walls.
Thanks but I keep having an issue that when I tried to stack another farm the first one would just stop working
@@a.person638 that seems to be a phenomenon that some people experience but it will resolve itself if you just let it continue to run. So just afk for like 20 min and most likely it will just go back to working just like it gud before.
Bro when I start stacking 6th village. I place 20 beds after leading 2 fresh villagers to my iron farm and then i saw that iron golems were spawning on that 6th village but there were only two villagers. Does this mean my 6th village get mixed with any other village😢?
That is exactly what that means unfortunately
@@0ldGuy bruh😕, I only have 5 stacked village and I tired to stack 6th but I failed 2 times. Seems that I can't stack 6th one
@@hellboy3257 it’s certainly possible to stack slot more but it takes practice to get really good at it. It’s a difficult thing to learn and master.
@@0ldGuy yah I got this after my 6th village stacking process failure. By the way can I use this method in raid farm like we have multiple village and we don't need to Breed them just stacking some villages containing 1 villager in each village and i can do multiple raid at a time. Is it possible, there is a 24 stacked raid farm by piconico but It seems time consuming to stack. I will build just a 1st village raid platform but containg multiple village. Is there any possibilities?
@hellboy3257 yes you can. However on the next update raids can only be triggered manually.
So what ever happened to navy nexus?
No idea.
Part 3 when? 👀
I’m not sure it’s really necessary. I thought there might be a reason for another part but I don’t think it’s necessary
@@0ldGuy you never did go over spacing between farms as far as I can tell. How far apart should they be?
@@masterminer2338 ok on the side it’s 14 blocks. On the ends I chunk aligned them. So 16 blocks. On the side where it’s 14 blocks I did that so I could fit them all in the afk range. 14 plus the wall of each farm still gives you 16 blocks so villagers from each village can’t detect any of the poi from the next village.
@@0ldGuy so its minimum a 14 block gap between the walls of each farm? And that's not including the little overhang for the lava at the top right?
@@masterminer2338 yeah 14 blocks. No that doesn’t include the overhang. It’s wall to wall.
Oldguy if i invited you to my realm will you help me out im haveing a hard time building the iron farms and stuff
Let me think about it. It might make an interesting series where I come fixated on up peoples iron farms. It would really depend on time.
@@0ldGuy ok srry it didnt pop up on my notifications thing
@@0ldGuy take your time oldguy
I built the iron farm and it worked perfectly, then I built the second iron farm, but now the first one seems like it is not spawning iron golems (the gap between the first and the second iron farm is 15 blocks) how to fix?
There’s probably nothing that needs fixing. Some people experience the first farm stop working but then after a day night cycle it starts working again. Some people don’t experience that. Most likely nothing needs to be done except afk. If it doesn’t resolve itself let me know and we can work through it.
I been afk for about 45 minutes, and I still don’t see any iron golems spawning on the first iron farm.
@ongbui1796 ok are you spawning cats in both farms?
@@0ldGuyOnly the second iron farm is spawning both cats and iron golems, but not on the first one.
@@ongbui1796 remove the lava and tell me how many golems spawn there. It should only be 2 but if it’s more than that you combined the villages.
Hi, does this work on bedrock 😅
Yes. I only play bedrock.
