=============================I hope you enjoyed my first studio portrait shoot inspired by the legendary fashion photographer Albert Watson. Albert Watson is a living legend and one of the best photographers of our time. It was a pleasure to study his work.
I'll make sure to do a lot more studio portraits in the future. I have so much to learn about light and I'm going to go back to Albert Watson's photography course to rewatch it all and take notes.
Albert Watson is a Scottish photographer, best known for his iconic images of celebrities, fashion, and fine art photography. He has worked with many famous people, including Steve Jobs, Kate Moss, Mick Jagger, and Queen Elizabeth II. Watson has won numerous awards for his work and has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world. He is considered one of the most influential photographers of our time. - Jak na to + styl
Thank you for the kind words, Frederik ❤ It was a huge pleasure and inspiration to be with you behind the scenes
Thanks mom :)! Such a fun shoot! Can't wait to do it again!
Just think - someday (if not already) somebody's going to have a video titled, "How to take photos like Frederik Trovatten". You do awesome work, yourself.
Thats sweet of you to say Miley! Appreciate it!
Great channel and i enjoy your mom being involved since it shows a refreshing level of committment. nice to see.
Thanks a lot Jamesons! Appreciate it!
Frederick I am speechless. A grand salute. Such simplicity and subtle beauty.
I’m an older photographer and don’t usually want to subscribe to others sites mainly because they only seem to be interested in gear reviews instead of stretching there skills even if your deciding to try a different direction. Even at my age I strive to try new things to never stop learning. Great job on this video. Your honesty and willingness to be uncomfortable will stretch your skills and make you become a more well rounded photographer. Once again keep doing what peaks your interest and stretches your imagination.
Thanks a lot David! Means a lot!
You did an incredible job. Beautiful photos of gorgeous models. You handled the staff professionally and your directions were easy for the models to follow. And you never lost your cool!
This is one of my favorite YT series. It’s remarkable how much you can learn by emulating the work and style of the masters. Love it!
The world illuminates when she smiles
Involving your mother brought so much joy to me
This movie is like a magical journey. This relationship between you Frederik and these great models allowed to catch not only the pictures but also the vibe, mood and energy.
Where do I begin?
This is one of the best videos you've made. The content, the edit, music, etc., all fits like a glove.
On top of that, the shots were amazing specially to be the first time at a studio!
Congrats and keep it on!
That's so nice to hear! Thank you so much!
I beg of you to make more regular content. You will not know this, but you are my biggest inspiration. I have been a photographer for many years, but still the rawness of your shooting style completely captivates me. Do not change anything. However, more of these studio shoots would be a blessing!
I see and read this. Thank you so much for taking the time to write me. More regular upload will happen from now on :)
It was such a pleasure to watch you and your friends.
I feel the good time you had and it’s inspiring me to work more and focus more on my vision.
Thank you so much! 🖤
This was wonderful, Frederik! The whole series has been wonderful. Keep it going. Respect to you, your mother, and your models. P.S. I can't believe you've never done studio work before. It's all I do, and you looked absolutely comfortable in it.
Thats so cool to hear! I’m excited for going back to the studio again, with the experience from this one! Glad you liked it!
My thoughts exactly. Well done.
first model smile deserved a couple of takes... beautiful work.
I love how your videos are not targeted towards beginners. I am tired of those. :D This was great. Please don't give up YT we love you :)
What a day of shooting.... If you’re interested in seeing how Albert Watson actually take pictures, check out his own photography course: geni.us/AlbertWatsonClass. Its amazing!
"And, I'm new in the studio and this is my very first studio shoot..."
Wow - just wow, Frederik! This video and the accompanying images are wonderful. Thank you for sharing this. (And, I loved Albert Watson's Masters of Photography class, too.) 🥰
James that so cool to hear! Thank you so much for the kind words and honest take!
Frederik, this video came along at precisely the perfect moment for me. I have always been a natural light or available light shooter, but lately have been feeling like I wanted to experiment with studio lighting. I literally just today ordered some studio lights and backdrops, and then came on youtube looking for inspiration, only to find your video. Synchronicity! Thank you Frederik!
The emotion you captured and they shared with you in this was a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing.
I lived in Denmark almost 5 years and the beauty of danish women is something I was not able to wrap my head around.
A great video!
The best part about Albert Watson's work isn't in gimmicks or tricks or requiring amazing background locations. He just has a mastery of light and contrast in his portraits that look so simple but are just so absolutely stunning. Was great to see you do studio work, you definitely have a talent for it
How I wish I had childhood friends as beautiful as yours!!! Wonderful work! YOUR FIRST TIME in the STUDIO????!!!!!
Incredible video Frederik! Thank you for the way that you present the experience, and with such joyfulness.
Simply fantastic, your mum is an awsome model, you pictures are simply awsome!
Carmella looks phenomenal for just having a baby!!! This is a great video! It makes me want to get into a studio and try this out lol
Frederik, love your channel, YOU are an inspiration to many including me, love your style, honesty and natural, humble videos, your models and Mum were stars too, please don’t stop making your content
Man, thank you so much! So so cool to hear a video really resonates with someone. Thank you for taking time to let me know!
Great video, Frederik! It's hard to believe this was your first studio session, you've got so much natural talent! The photo of the girl in the hat is stunning.
Thank you so much David! So cool to hear and glad you enjoyed the shoot! Also, and very important! Thank you for being a member! That helps me do bigger videos like this. Now with more frequency :)
The blurred one with the eye 🖤🤍🖤🤍
Så jävla bra! Genuint och proffsigt på samma gång
I always tried to meet you when you were living in condesa cdmx, i'm a fan. Thank you for this video, it has inspired me to shoot again.

The photo of your friend and the Rolleiflex… 😱… very intense !!! I love it.👍🏻
Good to see you've hit the next level. Frederik i think Albert would be impressed you handle and meet challenge so well. All that streetphoto work has give you the power to get what you want or know what you need.
Frederik, you've just blown me away with this video. The most meaningful thing I've watched in a long time
Spectacular shots as always! You really did nail down his essence, and seeing how well everyone handled the hot lights and being photographed like this was exceptional. Your Danish makes me miss Norway!

Guero. Muchas gracias por el video y felicidades a todos los que participaron.
Excellent. I just got my first photo shoot today for some people at work and although it will be outside and not studio watching your videos relaxes me and gives me confidence that I can do it too.
This was amazing. Loving this series
Thank you Tony!
"How To Take Photos Like Saul Leiter" in particular, his Early Color work.
Amazing video, as always, so well put together and a pleasure to watch.
Hello Frederik!! I’ve been away for some time and have missed a lot, apparently! Fantastic production!! So glad you are still out there sharing yourself!!! Thanks also to your mother!! She must have been an inspiration to you growing up.
Wonderfully done - so professionally done - top class!!!
Love - Love - loved it. Brilliant work and such ease behind the camera. I loved when you asked her suck in her tummy. Great work.
Great video, great models, great photography. ... You're very at ease, which puts your subjects at ease too. ... And you make it look easy. ... (P.S. Your mom looked to be a BIG help!!)

Wonderful! Thank you very much for sharing your amazing work.
Beautiful work!
If you have an agent, three assistants, two make up artists, a stylist, a fashion editor, a beautiful studio, and some of the worlds top models, great lighting and equipment, you are almost guaranteed to get some great shots. This is why the worlds top fashion photographers usually stay in the top spot for many years and why it's so difficult for the photographers at the bottom to break through. Vogue only worked with the same few photographers for decades. I don't know how it is now in the digital age. Also, all Watson's iconic images were shot on film and had a beautiful warm tome when printed. This would be my starting point if I were trying to copy his style. He was a great photographer but his fame and success were self perpetuating.
They're only starting to work with new and upcoming photographers, but I wonder if they are given access to the privileges you listed in your post because I've seen where people complain about the 'subpar' covers they shoot.
this is amazing..thank you
Fantastic video and wonderful images. I was so happy to see you back with a new video. Thanks Frederik
wow your video still keep getting better! production quality on this one is insane
I love this video. Coming from all the tech review videos and keeping up with gear, it was quite inspiring. I have found that continuous light setups are really nice to learn with. The video just covers such good tips with light and how to be very deliberate with it. I will say lighting makes all the difference and sometimes you just need a light bulb and a bed sheet. Creativity is everything and light is a good place to start improving photography before getting to editing.
Creo que éste es uno de tus vídeos que más feliz me han hecho. Me encanta la energía y la belleza que has capturado. Muy buen trabajo y muchas gracias.
Really great session!!!
thanks for sharing, nicely explained with single light
Beautiful people in front of and behind the camera. I’d say that your first studio session was an outstanding success.
Excellent video. Your models did great! One thing that was really fun about this video was how they all seemed to have a hard time NOT smiling. The mood of the set contrasted nicely with the serious, moody feel of most of the photos. This session was just plain fun to follow in the video!
Great work, very inspiring, thank you so much
Another gem of a video, thank you! I would love to see you cover Steve McCurry.
This is so Good! From the past to today you are a inspiration for all of us
Wonderfully done Frederik I learned a few things thank you for sharing
Great, great studio work.
I cannot believe that this is your first time being in a studio. Very impressive!
These are so beautiful
Fascinating to watch.
Thanks Jack!
i love it !! thanks a lot !!
Nicely captured, excellent excellent excellent BTS. Thank you for sharing.
Great video, Thank you!
