Most impressive thing about 2nd 3 peat MJ is how efficient he was with his movement.
There was what, 2 or 3 possessions in the half court where he took more than 1 or 2 dribbles? And he scored 36 points?
Dude was a master of getting space off minimal movement and getting off his shot.

Another impressive thing about 2nd 3 peat MJ is that he rarely turned the ball over. 29.6ppg on 49%FG and turned the ball over 2.2 times per game (but got it back just as many times with 1.9 steals per game).
Thats also one of the great things about CP3. Dude NEVER turns the ball (when you look at his steals totals).
He's a 19/10 player and averages only 2.4 turnovers, but also gets 2.4 steals. Dude basically never gives up a possession despite all the time he handles the ball. *****
CP3 is the greatest PG ever. I know MJ rarely turned the ball over, but his competition was disastrous in these years, CP does it vs unreal competition. CP is the greatest offensive player ever, MJ, LJ, Stockton, Nash are next. Probably KD, Magic next, Magics asts are inflated, his era was poor defensively, his team was stacked .. All gotta come in aha. Stockton my man, wow, he was dishing at rate that no one can match, the longevity is insane - 25-30 years old was above 50% AST - 30-35 was around 45-50% .. And from age 35-40 it was around 47% .... Put it into perspective - Magic carer = 12.3apg - 42% AST .... Stock was playing lower mins so it's not like he would ach 14 a game between age 35-40 with 80's playing style ... The longevity is insane.
All of yall need to start using AST% ... And look at efficiency with scoring ... Because anyone can take the shots, it's all about making at a high rate, the amount of times Duranr has scored 20 because that's all he needs or WANTS ... Players today will just score efficiently and come out of the game - that lowers their PPG - does this make them worse scorers than higher VOLUME/more PPG scorers? Nahhh KD, MJ, LJ = greatest scorers ever
+Amjbmcg You must be high with that silly shit re: Magic's stats inflated and him not being the GOAT PG. He FORCED that pace on the game, kidd. CP hasn't even won SHIT! He's been in the league for a decade and has just finally hit a critical shot (vs SA, 2015 POs). He hasn't accomplished 1/4th of the shit Magic has in this league, bro. I hate to break it to you. Chris Paul's resume is almost entirely based on what he's done in the regular season. That's nice, but it sounds silly to observers when you're touting a guy's RS stats vs a 3x MVP, 3x FMVP, 5x champion. As far as Magic's team being stacked, Chris has a good team to lead. You think it's gonna matter? He ain't getting past GS without an injury to Curry. You transport Magic onto his team, they won't lose. They'll be cohesive, he won't try to win playoff games with his offense first, which Chris often does. Magic has more than proved that capability no matter who his teammates are.

Jordan had such a beautiful, finesse style of play. I think Jordan's style as much as his greatness is what made him a superstar. His style was just irresistible. When he was on the court, you almost wanted him to be taking the shot every possession just to watch his grace lol. There was just something about him. Almost a theatrically beautiful style of play.

Aaron Gottfried - one travel example and now it's a trend? That's ridiculous - typical internet hyperbole and bullshit. Jordan rarely travelled and that's twice so when compared to today's never can 5 step travels by LBJ. Entire YT videos dedicated to LBJ traveling can be found in a search. Not for MJ.

You turned on your TV to see what he would do that game. And there it was, night after night, year after year. Stuff that would just make your jaw drop.
His jump shot is so PURE and SMOOTH. GOAT!
I was at this game sitting at the very top by the flags lol. I missed the intros for this and was unbelievably pissed..only game i saw live with jordan.

So quick, so smooth, so efficient... Doesn't spend most the shot clock dribbling away, ignoring his teammates, who stand around waiting for whatever bread crumbs he'll throw at them...unlike some of the superstars of today. He actually scores within the flow of the offense.

that's exactly why he is not a ball hog ( has never been one anyway). people who only look at stats will try to tell you how efficient a player is with the efficiency rating. but none of these stats has recorded how many dribbles or steps has been made before putting up a shot with the open space being created. jordan's efficiency on scoring is beyond all that.

MJ proved (along with me) or at least at that point of his career of a what it means to get better with time like fine wine!! MJ has a knack of showing up and showing out against anyone that he perceive as a possible threat in which at that time Rider showed flashes of taking the torche. He basically established himself as the best by far in the game by looking for such challenges and would even concoct and or embellish such a challenge in order to keep his fire lit.

Anybody catch the minor error at 3:10? At that point, he hadn't won the last 8 scoring titles. He had won 8 in total, but not consecutively. He won 7 straight before he retired, then 3 straight from '96-'98. David Robinson won it in '93-'94, and Shaq took the title in '94-'95.

1996-97 was my favorite year from the 2nd 3 peat seasons. MJ had a bit more pep in his step. One thing I always wondered is why he didn't wear his calf sleeve that year?
Yes, I will always remember 1996-97 as the season he didn't wear it. I could never figure it out. Just like I could never figure out why during the 1991 playoffs he suddenly decided to wear a black band on his elbow, instead the red forearm band. I wish there was someone to ask about these. Perhaps we'll never know...
youvalss in 97 he had lost the weight from the previous year and felt pretty good. He still was a little heavy in 96 still having some of the weight from playing baseball. So he didn’t wear it in 97. But we really never see it bother him till the wizard years is his tendinitis. So by 98 it kinda bothered him and he went back to wearing it. As far as the color of his elbow pad MJ has changed it over the years. Red. White. Black. Just depended what he felt like wearing

Man-to-man defense is no different than today, I guarantee people are going to be saying that about the defense today in 20 years from now in an attempt to say the league was watered down therefore guys like LeBron & Kobe aren't actually stars. Henny Hardaway - sorry but that's just not true. Scoring in 04-05 with the rule change and new interpretations of foul calls saw an in crease in scoring by every team and every starting perimeter player by an average of 20%. And this continued for each season for the next few seasons. The game was different before. No 3 Sec rul and forearms and hands up in your body with force. Contact in the paint - so what? Nothing. Today, a bump is a foul.
How is this even close today's conditions. Today's conditions for perimeter players is the easiest it ever been, period.
In 03-04, the last year of the old rules, 6 of he top ten scorers were big men. Just two years later with totally new conditions, one guy was a big man in the top 10.
The difference is not just obvious. The rule changes of 04-05 are the largest departure of the game from the fundamental basketball of NBA past in history. Today's game is more different than any change we saw since the merger in the 70's.
