    Funny how a vessel won't react well when your motor is trimmed out of the water.... I got to tell ya, I love these. It's so entertaining to see ignorant people struggle and not learn from their own mistakes.

      @@richerwin6397 I know! We’ve got the lines ready and fenders out at least 200 yards from the dock so that all I’ve got to worry about is the wind, current and other boaters…not whether or not I’m going to drift away after arriving at the dock.

    • @richardredhead
      @richardredhead Před 2 lety

      Never had the need to use dock lines at a launch ramp in 35 years. Drop off the driver, back away, drive boat (not "powerload") onto trailer as soon as it's in the water. Boat never touches the dock, off the ramp in 2-3 minutes. All this farting around with lines, tying off and winches is a monumental waste of time.

      In that case you have to back down a little faster and give a little more break with just a tad deeper than you would normally go. It doesn't help when all these people backing down have not removed their safety chain.

    Those rails seem to have been the issue. Most likely tight up against the toons when they should be about 2” from touching.
    The second toon had no clue what he was doing, trimmed up with prop out of water causing the drift into the other boat. Anyone that doesn’t have in insured / under insured on their policy is nuts.
