      Does OB-GYN also clean patients poo? (Just asking) and also can u tell me what type of nurses doesn't need to clean patients poo? No hate or something, i really respect every nurse but i just can do the "cleaning the poo" part and i am in grade 10 right now and has to choose my course for grade 11

      @@ritikasadhra8284 I mean surgeons probably don’t have to clean poo. Neither do anesthesiologists because they focus on caring for unconscious patients. Obgyns def have to clean poo since pregnant women often poo during labor

      @@ritikasadhra8284 are you asking about nursing or being a physician? those are literally two different things. barely any physicians ever clean poop. nurses in pretty much every specialty will, although there are cna’s and tech’s that do more of it than nurses do. you can be labor and delivery or maternal nursing, where you work for and with ob-gyn. but physicians and nurses are two different things completely. neither is easier, but they’re different . she is a physician, not a nurse.

    18:20 This was something the nurse who talked to my mom should of learned. Tell patients with empathy AND proof that they have some sort of cancer. My mom went to an OBGYN and a nurse told her straight up with ZERO proof she had uterine cancer. She broke down in tears and my dad was very upset, it didn't help that his mom recently passed because of cancer. The worst part is that she didn't even have cancer, the nurse also lied to her saying that my mom had many small cysts when in reality she only had one big one. I can't even begin to describe how angry I was when my mom told me after she came back from her checkup. We didn't bother suing or anything but that is absolutely horrible lying to people like that.

      @@cursedcancersurvivor Your perspective is a little bit warped. It's not "wanting to look at vaginas for a living". That's like saying neurosurgeons want to look at cut open heads for a living. Or that police officers want to look at bloodied bodies for a living. Or that fire-fighters want to get trapped into burning buildings for a living. It's not true. It's about being able to aid in the deliverance of new life into the world, and helping young/new parents to feel safe and comfortable as they step into a big part of their life. It's also about providing support for tragedies that may occur at birth. (Also, side-note: by the time you've grown-up and matured, that won't be such a big deal to you. It's not that gross. It's just anatomy.)

    I imagine 30-35 patients a day on a 8-5 schedule as she said is a lot. I am a phleb and I see 40-50 in the same amount of time but I don't spend much time with the patients and typically in and out unless they ask questions about there labs in which case I know everything about the test but not always what the doc is looking for in particular as it is not always straight forward, & many test can give a range of possibilities, i.e CMP vs an APTT. It still takes the whole day to see them all, I can't imagine a physician seeing that many patients going over charts and answering all their questions. I imagine it helps being that her patients come to her rooms vs me walking all around a huge hospital. Very neat video although I am going the PA route always love following Doctor Webb and others very inspirational!

    Hi Dr.Webb, I loved this video! I do have a question. I recently completed my Bachelors in May so I am fortunately in a job now where I have health insurance for the first time. Is it typically recommended for women to have both an OBGYN and a Gynecologist for annual visits? I've always been unclear about that. Thanks!

    • @Joseph-ss2tx
      @Joseph-ss2tx Pƙed 3 lety +1

      You should only need to see one if you are not currently pregnant. OBGYN Physicians are trained in the practice of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Obstetric visits are for women who are pregnant and need to receive healthcare pertaining to their pregnancy. If you just need an outpatient Gynecology visit, you can see an OBGYN, a Family Medicine doctor, or an Internal Medicine doctor who specializes in women's healthcare. I hope that explanation was helpful :)

      OBGYN: stands for obstetrician, gynecologist. So if you're seeing an obgyn you're already seeing a gyno.

    • @signwitharjun386
      @signwitharjun386 Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Hi, so a medical license does not reflect a doctor’s specialty training; board certification indicates that a doctor has had specific training and experience in a particular specialty. In the Uk, there are specialty examinations that Doctors are required to pass (depending on the specialty they go into). As far as I am concerned, there is no ‘board certification’ in the Uk. After medical school and after fy1 and fy2, you can either choose core training or surgical training and those exams (previously mentioned) take place some time during that training. I may be wrong but I hope that helps!

    • @signwitharjun386
      @signwitharjun386 Pƙed 3 lety +1

      After completing these stages, essentially you achieve ‘board certification’ (in the Uk)
