  • This watch has just launched and it is beautiful from every angle. It also houses a fascinating automatic movement, the 5000a which incorporates a micro rotor which not only makes it interesting to look at, it helps make the movement very slim!

    WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
    You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use CZcamss lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and CZcams deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

      I don't think they skimped out on it. Pretty sure it's part of the design with the vintage aesthetics. It doesn't make sense given the design, movement, quality, finishing, cost etc...that they decided to go hesalite over sapphire to save a few dollars.

    • @waffle911
      @waffle911 Před 16 dny

      Definitely an aesthetic choice rather than a cost saving measure. Hesalite/acrylic is less reflective and slightly warmer in appearance than sapphire glass and more appropriate for the time period that inspired the Baltic MR family.

    Great-looking watch, but I'm just not a fan of the offset small seconds (I prefer it at the 6). Maybe it's just me, but it looks much larger than 36mm. Maybe b/c the bezel's so thin?

  • @FabioTWK
    @FabioTWK Před 16 dny +1

    10.3 mm isn’t thin at all, by any watch standard (excluding complications). It can be easily beaten by a traditional rotor movement watch, like a vintage 5605 Seiko (9.5 mm watch) or an ETA 2892 (Ebel, 8 mm watch) and probably even an NH35 can fit in a 10.3 mm watch. The Huangzhou microrotor movement allows down to 8 mm total thickness, Chinese brands are doing that but Baltic just chose to not do it. Silly to call Baltic a thin watch, that size isn’t anything to write home about.

    • @TelephoneNinja
      @TelephoneNinja Před 16 dny

      Right? I mean on the top of my head: RZE Resolute Pro (Miyota 9000) 10.5mm thick, or Tissot 1938 (ETA 2824-2) 11.3mm thick, both including the SAPPHIRE crystal - if anything, Baltic wasted the opportunity to make it really thin, and for what? Certainly not water resistance...

    I would love to own this watch... it's absolutely gorgeous and the movement is different and looks so premium... but 36mm? Baltic needs to provide a larger diameter watch. This is too small for even just medium sized wrists. I have a 7.5 inch wrist and I do own a 37mm watch right now and rarely wear it because it looks like it belongs to my 6 year old son on my wrist. Baltic... wake up... you make beautiful watches but you're missing a large audience by not adding a few mm to your watch diameter. A 39mm would be a way more universal size. Just my opinion.

      Perhaps look at it from this angle: 36mm puts it into "dress watch to wear on occasion once a year" territory while 38mm would make it "elegant daily". I'd rather purchase something with more wrist time possibility...
