I always thought the fairie magic was Bingo acting out, and I loved the message that a parent can apologize when they hurt a kids feelings, regardless of the situation at hand. Bandit saw her acting out because he upset her, and it’s so sweet how he makes a complete fool of himself to make up for it. I’m always so blown away by the real Easter eggs they put in regarding Australian culture and pop culture. That’s why Bluey is top notch!

I think this episode would have been better if both sides realized they messed up. Bingo was wrong for trying to rush Bandit just as much as he was wrong for unintentionally hurting her feelings. Kids that age need to learn how to be patient anyway so I don't see why they couldn't have done this.

I think it is incredibly important to teach children by showing and doing yourself. I think bandit apologizing to bingo will inevitably teach both children that it is okay to show their emotions, and also apologize for hurting someone elses. As far as faeries existing in the bluey universe, (and frankly our own) is that they are as real as santa claus, as in they are a spirit of a concept and the actions you do for others is where the faeries exist. So i believe that both the faeries and bandit set up the love heart 🫶

I agree, I feel this episode is one of the magical ones where its okay to believe in things and its okay for parents to apologize. He apologizes in “The Weekend” for something he had no control over. Not because he did wrong but its more important about how they feel. Kids are still kids and a lot of us are trying not to give them any part of our burdens as adults. Some things or parts of our moods or struggles is safe but not to take away their childhood because they have to manage us. Their emotions and feelings are important too. I feel this and “Weekend” help deliver this point whole heartedly. I almost cry every time Bingo says “goodbye” to the “walking leaf”. Its so genuine, wholesome and wholeheartedly done.❤

This whole episode feels so Ghibli-esque mixed with lots of humor and silliness, the episode ending reminded me a little bit of My Neighbor Totoro and how Mei finds the forest spirits. And it is fascinating to think if the fairies were real or if it was just a really extravagant game.

I have to wonder if sometimes the audience reactions to Bandit apologizing/being made to apologize here are somewhat based in discomfort? Like perhaps having been raised with a slightly harsher parenting style, it feels almost uncomfortable in a weird way to see parents on TV be so gentle. Like you’re constantly almost subconsciously waiting for the other shoe to drop hard but it just never does. Idk though, that could be just me.

    • @cutepuddleslime8201
      @cutepuddleslime8201 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@vanillaextract4135Long comment incoming:
I have seen that reaction of everyone feeling like Bandit shouldn't have to apologize to a child, but that could be because it is easier to remember the adult feelings as they're typically adults reacting to this. It's much easier to dismiss the child's emotions because it looks so small compared to the more "important" thing an adult needs to deal with, not to mention forgetting that we all liked the things we now consider too small to consider good.
Cinema Therapy reviewing My Neighbor Totoro said something similar to what I am saying, "Empathy is for everyone but particularly for children. Mei is expressing grief but the adults around her are always trying to correct her behavior instead of just sitting and listening. Like you kids need to be magically good at managing emotions, where most adults cannot handle their own big emotions too."
They even said something funny like how an adult can easily disregard a child's emotions over losing a toy, but when an adult loses their wallet and has the same emotional reaction it's suddenly more valid. We kind of have to emphasize to a child kind of like how we may lose our hypothetical wallets, because to the child it really is that big of a deal.

I think it’s important for parents to apologize when they hurt their children even on accident. They have feelings just the same and they don’t understand why mom or dad yelled they didn’t know they did anything wrong. By not apologizing and trying to be the “big bad parent” you are teaching them not to come to you or trust you with things. Communication is so important for young kids learning to navigate the world and social situations. It’s the job of the parent to teach them not through fear of getting in trouble but through communication.

I personally believe that it’s very important for parents to acknowledge a child’s feelings. Just because they’re young doesn’t mean that their feelings are invalid. Was Bandit in the right for not dropping everything to cater to Bingo in that moment? Absolutely. He was busy with an important phone call. But at the same time his reaction hurt her feelings. Having the insight to recognize that and apologize for it is important. Children’s feelings are too often brushed off. Most people just shrug and go oh they’ll get over it or they’ll understand someday. But that kind of thing can stick with a child all the way into adulthood. Especially if it happens repeatedly.

Well said. Most people expect a child to apologise if they hurt someone’s feelings, but then won’t show that same courtesy in return. The parent needs to model this behaviour, which in turn shows the child that their parents care enough about them to do this.

MARGIE, I have a Theory of how Bingo sees the Pixie, but Bandit doesn’t.
Let me quickly do some context.
So every weekend, me and my friend Kerry & Sapphire go to Haunted Places in NZ. Mainly local or a bit far out.
We’ve done it since I was 11 (2020, but only sometimes cause of the Pandemic) but then over the years we started opening ourselves to the other side. Meaning more investigations etc etc.
What does this have to do with Bingo? Well, at little beings, some little kids from age 2-5 can kinda sense things like Spirits.
Same as animals like dogs, they can sense things that their owner can’t see.
Literally last week Kerry, and I were at Sapphires house.
We were all talking on her bed, and her dog looked up high at the door, got on the bed and his fur on his back was standing up. As if he saw something.
And spirits are known for being up high, and that creeped us the f- out
Maybe it’s the same with Bingo, she can see something, but no one else can.
    Margie? Opinion?

bandit wasn't even aware of the love heart bingo made from the dominios at the beginning of the episode,I really do belive the little pink dog fairy was there, and even though we only saw one little fairy dog doesn't mean she was the only one, look at the house, look outside, look at all the random things that happens in the episode, the little pink fairy dog wasn't alone, she had help with other fairies for sure and no I don't belive bingo can do all of those things all by herself, she's only 4 in this episode, also this makes me belive even more that girls can only see or do magic, cause bandit sure can't,he even comrims this litterally in the episode magic when he said he wished he could do magic,so whenever this episode comes on,it makes me really think on how magic works in the blueyverse, can only girls see and do magic? or is bandit just not pure heart enough to see or do magic? (this also reminds me of dragon ball when goku gets his nimbus cloud, only the pure hearts can ride on it) I love these episodes that has to do with magic and fairies,it really makes you question how they work in the show and I love it,I love the lore,I love the mystery and everything ♥

  • @Ashagobrrrr
    @Ashagobrrrr Před měsícem +3

Ok ok i’ve been wanting to say this for a while.
At the end of the episode, bandit goes, “it’s a love heart” implying that he doesn’t see the fairy that bingo clearly sees. It reminds me a lot of the ending scene in the polar express, where the parents clearly cannot hear the sleigh bell ring, saying, “oh, it’s broken” whereas the kids, yes, both of them, CAN hear it. The little girl is already known to fully believe in santa, and of course the whole story was the boy learning to believe in santa and the magic of christmas. Somewhere in the movie too i think it’s said that only those who truly believe in the magic can hear the bells, explaining why the boy couldn’t hear them until towards the end of the movie. Back to bingo, she does in fact say that one has to look for fairies with one’s heart. A parallel to having to believe in the magic of Christmas to hear the sleigh bells. The fact that bandit does not acknowledge the presence of a fairy implies that he cannot see it. A parallel to the parents in the movie. So if you ask me, i think there IS magic in this world. And at this point, it’s common knowledge that children see things that adults can’t see.
It’s one of those things that makes me sad about being right in the middle of going from child to adult. Screw Highschool! I wanna be a carefree child again! I don’t wanna be worried about grades and social acceptance, i wanna go to the park and run around in the brush! I wanna go down to the creek! What is this?! I didn’t sign up for this crap! >:(
But honestly, I think that this episode is more about the magic that comes with being a child, and that most of the time, adults just can’t see or feel that anymore.

I do think a lot of people mistake that the thing Bandit was apologizing for was not going to see the dominoes, rather than him hurting Bingo's feelings by kind of snapping and being a bit harsh with her in the moment, and then not apologizing to her at the moment for it? To add to the comparison with Wagon Ride, there he tried to be patient with Bluey and explain things to her, whereas here, he kind of just lost his patience and just left Bingo to her own devices after she let go of his tail. And I do kind of like that - it's nice to see the Heeler parents not always be shown to be amazing parents, they do still make mistakes.

Also yeah I think it's funner to say sprinkles than a thousands of plenty. Cuz that's what you're doing You're sprinkling them onto something.

9:46 talking about the random number on the cricket bat…
In the episode Tradies, when Bluey and Bingo are under the house, there’s a wide shot and you could slightly see a fainted number carved into the wood. Can’t make out the first number but it’s “_064”. Wondering if anyone knows what it means as well.

I never for one second believed that fairies were real within Bluey.
I don’t really understand how you can watch the show like that. Is the magic xylophone really magic? The feather? The asparagus?
It just seems like a crazy can of worms to open.
I would also say that logically Bandit did nothing wrong. But sometimes my wife asks me apologise to my kids when I’ve nothing wrong, and I usually begrudgingly do it. The kids interpretation of events matters too when considering whether to apologise.

For arguments sake, this is minor. It’s not like either Bluey or Bingo getting enough attention.

I've always tried to keep my mind open to the things that I used to believe when I was little cuz they always say if you deny your inner child self You miss out on a lot of things in life that are precious.

When chili says that he has to right what was wrong, having him be the one who set the dominos back up makes a lot of sense
And because she didn’t see them be put back up, instead coming back to see them all up feels like magic, the only explanation for bingo is that it was a fairy, and then bandit acknowledges her creation
Finally righting the wrong, he apologized and finally sees something she made for him.
I don’t think bandit did anything wrong, could he have said it better? Of course, but no one is perfect. It’s really sweet at the end, and it is nice to see a father figure apologize, even if it s not for something he did but hurting her feelings. 🥹
