Apparently Stotts resigned because Griffin yelled at him in front of everyone. The story goes that they had a team huddle with players and coaches and Griffins said that they would have a staff huddle right after but Stotts walked away talking to some players and Griffin yelled at him across the gym in front of the players to join the huddle. Stotts said he just wanted to talk to a couple of players. He resigned a couple of days later.

Since sure, he gives you trainings and tactics in games, but Basketball is so individual that I'd argue the coaches aren't that important. Is this a bad take or am I right?

They bring the team together and arrange plans to build team bonding, they help draft new players, recruit players, and build systems that work for their team. Sure they probably aren't as important as star players but they are still needed. Without a good coach, your team has no chance of surviving the playoffs. Coaches become way more important then and those last minute adjustment and using time outs when necessary really makes or beaks a teams. Also teams need coaches to fit their teams play-style, like coaches known for their defensive expertise are great for team with mainly defenders and wouldn't work well with heavily offensively oriented teams with mostly guards.
