With a background in TV, where I hosted my own program (think a bit more formal than my current CZcams adventures), I now thrive on the dynamic and creative freedom of the web. As an expat in Italy for eight years and counting, I hold a BA in Theatre and Film Studies and an MSc in Media Organisation from the University of Bologna. I have always had a huge passion for discovering new places, having traveled all around the world since I was a child, so there were no second thoughts when searching for my niche. I look at slow travel as staying in one spot until you’re ready to move on. It could be 1 month or 1 year or more. It just the freedom to move around if you want, when you want.

I am older now and I travel long term and slower. I didn't think it is better than the way others travel. But listening to you tells me you haven't done it. I find work or work exchanges and it's amazing to travel slow. I also met people who rent work spaces and actually work. it takes self discipline. I am creating as I travel. I don't get your point, but wait, I am listening to you as I type and I realize you are trying to sell your skills. Now this video makes sense.

She's an expat dude, she knows what she's talking about. "Slow" travel, going away for months or years, is going to keep it out of the realm of possibility for most people. Yes it can be wonderful and life-changing but saying its the only way to do things is turning it into aspirational consumerist bs .

I don't get it. Why is she so upset about people who love to travel at their pace?🤔 а тебе какое дело, ¿Que te importa? 😮
Oh it's to get views from trending topic, controversy leads to clicks then she can sell something. 😅😂

Ahhh, I see why you are not on board with Slow Travel. You are working. For those who are NOT working, this kind of travel is more attractive.

exactly what we are thinking as well. Slow travel while working is difficult.

Slow travel is probably better for those who are retired of if still working online maybe plan your stay for longer at different places like maybe 6 months to a year.

As a soon-to-be retiree without the need to earn an income the so-called Slow Travel concept seems fine. Especially when trying out destinations to see where a person might want to stay longer term. Otherwise, yeah I agree with you. Doing it as a working person seems like more of a pain than anything. Anyway, just a catch phrase to get views more than anything else. Probably won't even hear the term in a year or two. ✌

We’re trying out slow travel and have been traveling for 10 days and still have 3 more weeks before moving on to our next destination.
We’re looking forward to being back home so If we had sold everything to slow travel, we would be pretty sad right now!😳
We’re realizing that we love being expats who travel regularly but not full time without a home base. Everyone has to find what works best for them.❤

Its not less than, or a one versus another. It's a different kind of experience. I think its pretty awesome to be properly immersed into a culture because youre actually living there for a while. And experience what it looks like living in a country other than what you're used to, makes you more open minded and flexible. Its very different than just being a tourist for a couple of weeks. And this lifestyle doesn't have to rule out going on other regular trips either. In fact you can combine, if you have a remote job anyway go on vacation somewhere and then stay for a couple months longer afterwards. You get so much more value out of the flight. So other than you using this rant to sell your service, I don't understand why this was worth a video tbh. But to each their own :)

It just hit me that this narrative you're talking about does make me feel like I'm missing out and doing it all wrong, and it has probably held me back. I don't think I travel as much as I could because long-term trips aren't achievable for me right now.... thank you for making this video. We would miss out on so many potentially incredible experiences if we wait for the "perfect" trip to be possible. I think what slow travel really means is just that, slowing down, whether you have a month, a week, or just a day. Let's take the term back and popularize the slow-travel three day weekend trip and the slow travel day trip :)! :Edit: conscious travel is a great way of putting it.

Hi there! Slow travel is maybe for those w/o a job, who have plenty of time. Otherwise, you're right: take a full week for only one place /area, not 10 cities. And I speak from my experience.

I'm watching some slow travel on youtube . It's a basically a job for them because they are supported by you tube and sponsorships.

I am the author of Traveling the World on Social Security and the publisher of the Budget Retirement Options and I agree, slow travelers are not being honest. And the worst part is they are not explaining that digital nomads can have months with little to no income. What people don't realize is these promoters have six or seven figures in the bank. The rest of us, are retired and get monthly retirement income. Slow travel works for people who are ready for it and prepared for it. I travel the world full-time, slowly, on a budget. Enjoyed your video. Tks.
