I did this trip a few years ago as a part of a Wilderness Volunteers trip to rebuild the trail up to West Maroon Pass. I was 62 years old at the time but didn't have any problems. On our "day off" we all hiked over to Frigid Air Pass and back. Didn't do the Four Mountain Pass Loop trail, but it was a great time. Lots of people were on the trail because it was during July. I would advise to do this trip about the time these guys did, not so busy.

Great video. I attempted this loop last summer in early July with my east coast lungs but unfortunately the altitude got me. I went counterclockwise and by time I made it over Buckskin and got down to Snowmass it was mobbed. I was lucky to find a place to set up.
After coming down Buckskin pass to finish the loop I really thought counterclockwise would be a brutal direction to go. Having that huge climb on the first day would be rough...

We took the shuttle. The limitations on when cars were allowed up to the trailhead and the lack of space to park made the shuttle appear to be the easier option for us. Thanks for watching and have a great time is is such a beautiful place...
