    I’ve backpacked it twice and prepping to do it in one day next year. It is truly unreal and snowmass lake is unparalleled in 20 years of living in Colorado. Thanks for sharing!

      This comment honestly just made my day. Appreciate the kind words, and you are going to crush it! All that beauty in one day should be illegal 😂

    Great video. Some friends and I are looking to do this route next year. We would likely take our time and spend 3 nights. Most of my experience hiking is in Glacier where all of the campsites are predefined and governed by permits. Is camping along this loop the same with predefined campsites and permit etc or more like first come first serve? Is there a good website with details etc?

      Appreciate you liking the video, Joe! You have to go do this hike. Be a fun 3 days if you did. You don't have to have permits in order to camp along the trail. There are not many spots to camp, but if you can, I would highly recommend at least camping one night at Snowmass Lake. Hope this helps!

    🙂 Possibly my favorite of all your vids 🌲🏔 If I weren't chained to my desk this year, I'd be out there too. 🤦🏼‍♂

    Amazing video! Curious - what was your time? Any tips / concerns for someone trying it for the first time?

      Appreciate you watching! I think we did it in a little over 10 hrs. I'd say if you are any kind of runner or someone who hikes enough then you'll have no problem finishing this. I'd say if you are worried about time, start early. We started around 7am, but you could start at even around 4am. Bring plenty of water. I found that 1000ml of water worked great. WE had plenty of places to filter.

      Thank you! We’re planning to do it this Friday. Both in good shape but this will definitely be a test. Looking forward to it. It looks beautiful!

    Such a beautiful area and loop! Watching your video REALLY makes me want to go run it again (and I'm sure I could run it much stronger now vs in 2019). Awesome video!

      Thanks, Chad! So fun! I'm with you. I'd like to go back up and just rifle through it now. You'd be miles ahead of your former self!

    Awesome! Yesterday I hiked from Aspen to Crested Butte on the W. Maroon Bells route for the first time. Would love to do the 4 pass.

      That's awesome! I've actually always wanted to do that route. Be cool to run from town to town. Those wildflowers up there are so nice this time of year! Thanks again for watching, Andrew!

    just wanted to ask you a question. I have ran many half marathons and I would love to try what you did? Do you think I could do this?

    • @roebucksadventure
      @roebucksadventure Před 2 měsíci

      I did a hike to Snowmass lake going over buckskin pass several years ago for a out and back.

      Also, what is the best place to park your car. I notice your parked in Aspen around 6:30am. how did you get to the start? What is your recommendations?

    • @CoryGrasser
      @CoryGrasser  Před 2 měsíci

      @roebucksadventure I think you'll be fine. We actually went at my wife's pace who is the same and ran several half marathons. We got a parking pass and drove from Snowmass ski resort to the main trailhead at Maroon Lake. This will save you loads of time but reserve it early. Shuttles only run until 5pm so that's why you'll want to park up there. Hope this helps!

    Do you have any recommendations or insights for someone who isn’t in great shape but is training for the next 6 months, completing this in 1 day?

    • @CoryGrasser
      @CoryGrasser  Před 10 měsíci

      I don't want to say 100% yes, but I think it is so achievable for you. I think there are some parts of the trail where you don't necessarily need to run, but hiking faster really helps. I'd just say start early and make sure you plan ahead when it comes to water and food. Pulling for ya! Let me know when you do it! 🎉

    I'm 50, overweight, but determined. Anything you can say to assist in this journey?

    • @CoryGrasser
      @CoryGrasser  Před měsícem +1

      First of all, I am excited for you. If you take proper breaks, bring plenty of water and are able to filter out water at the several streams and water crossings then I think that is huge. Bring hiking poles, and start early. Biggest thing is to just enjoy the views and get yourself a parking spot at Maroon Lake so you have plenty of time to complete the loop without having to take a shuttle down which ends at 5pm. Take photos and let me know how it goes!!!!!
