Just tilt the cab and use the good old mechanical dipstick...Way more reliable than any electronics..When DAF used to do the oil check through the VIC it was a 15 min wait at max...With 26 years on the product ,personally i do not think this isn't one of their better ideas ..Technically what the oil level was at the last check can be irrelevant as it may have an unreported leak or may have been done many thousands of km ago..It is a pity they couldn't have the dipstick under the grill like it used to be ,for a driver who can't wait 3 hours can't tilt his cab but wants a true reading before hitting the road
