- How to Make a Hellboy Mask out of eva foam with Free PDF templates. This project is perfect for a quick Cosplay or Halloween costume. I absolutely love the Hellboy comics and especially that iconic Mike Mignola look. I have made some stylized simple masks in the past so I figured that my HD Foam would be a great medium to create my own comic style Hellboy mask. To go along with the fabrication I also have Free PDF mask templates available over on my website that you can download to build right along with me. Plus in this video I will cover the steps I took to hand paint the mask to give it that Mignola look using acrylics.

I love it. I'm finding with my first Borderlands style build that there are a lot of "3D" elements that are actually just painted on. It's such a fine line to walk when trying to make something look just right in that style. So, the more expertise I can get from you, the better!

I made this yesterday. Its fab, Love it. All made out of 10mm floor mat, bit 'thick' but it suits the character well. Just got to cel paint the costume and hand of doom for our next comic con in May :)
Looks great. You should do one of the newer versions of him with his eye cut out and the blood dripping down. Your take on Abe or Roger would be really cool. Actually any character in the HBverse would be good. Lobster Johnson. Or just his glove.

It looks awesome, but dang, I was hoping this was gonna be a full head covering style mask. That's the kind I need, but there isn't a pattern available. The only one is someone on Etsy that it's just his drawings scanned in, and I can't resize them.
Just find a free helmet pattern and add the mask to it. Punished props and Much Props both have some to choose from

Great build! I'm curious, when do you choose to use super glue vs contact cement? Is it about the size of the weld?
pretty much, I will usually look at the size of the piece and how much stress it may take over time. Contact cement has some give to it but super glue is great for keeping the build clean. That's why a lot of the times I go with my double adhesive method to use both

Hey SKS! I request a tutorial on how to carve Necromancer Bone armor from Eva or whatever foam. Can you do it?
At this point I don't really take requests because my own build list is looonnnnggg but check out my Mythosaur video to se how to crave and paint foam to look like bone
What software do you use to scale the pdfs to a4 size?
Follow the directions on my site and open the pdf in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click poster in the page size area that scales it properly over several sheets regardless of your paper size
Do u peal the tape while paint is still wet ?
I dry it with a hairdryer then peel it. Also I do stick the tape to my desk first to knock down some of the tack

I'm getting cracking after applying acrylics on top of the Krylon primer, is there something I'm doing wrong?
Did you apply Plasti dip first? Also for the spray paint you just want to apply a light layer if you put down to much the spray paint can crack. And the type of acrylics you use can make a difference. Usually cheaper ones will have less pigment and medium in the paint the more it will flake off or crack
@@SKSProps I did, 3 light/medium coats of Plasti Dip, also using Liqutex Heavy Body. I might've gone a little to heavy on the Krylon so I'll do some more testing, I appreciate the reply and content 🤘
