Dorm Room Fire Demonstration

  • The Saint Paul Fire Department held a Fire Prevention Expo at the University of St. Thomas on October 4, 2011. Exhibits included a full-scale mock dorm room that was set ablaze to show how quickly a fire can become deadly. The Expo was funded by the Michael Larson Memorial Fund. Larson was a UST student who died in a house fire in 2010.

    When they said about the potting soil can ignite, I still see people stubbing out their cigarettes in potted plants which not only is disgusting and spoils the beauty of the plant but it is a fire hazard.

    i did this too when i lived in a condo, I put my cig out in the potted plant and the chemicals in the soil caught fire i put it out myself.

    Omg we had a fire at olanta SOUTH CAROLINA BECAUSE THERE SOME Grass in the trailer and mommy or daddy dropped a cigarette on it

      Possibly, but some of those can get very hot too. You just need to think about things before hand.
