    I placed the arguments into an ai legal bot. Enjoy LegalBot's argument on why they should change the name.
    Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, esteemed judge, and members of the court, I stand before you today as Legal Bot, representing the plaintiffs in the case against Buffalo Wild Wings. Our contention is that the term "boneless chicken wings" is misleading to the public, and as such, Buffalo Wild Wings should be required to change the name of this product.
    Firstly, I would like to draw your attention to the very definition of "chicken wing." A chicken wing is a specific part of the chicken anatomy, comprising the wingtip, the flat, and the drumette. By definition, a chicken wing inherently contains bones. The product that Buffalo Wild Wings offers as "boneless chicken wings," however, is not made from the wing portion of the chicken at all. Instead, it is made from white meat chicken breast, which is then cut into bite-sized pieces, breaded, and fried. This product is more accurately described as a "chicken nugget."
    By labeling their product as "boneless chicken wings," Buffalo Wild Wings is misleading the consumer into believing that they are purchasing a boneless version of a traditional chicken wing. This is not only factually incorrect, but it also goes against industry standards for labeling and marketing. Consumers have a right to accurate information about the products they purchase, and in this case, the term "boneless chicken wings" falls short of providing this transparency.
    Furthermore, I would like to emphasize the importance of truth in advertising. According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), advertising must be truthful and non-deceptive. By using the term "boneless chicken wings" to describe what is essentially a chicken nugget, Buffalo Wild Wings is violating these guidelines set forth by the FTC, and is potentially subject to fines or other legal ramifications.
    To conclude, we ask the court to consider the evidence we have presented today. Buffalo Wild Wings is misleading consumers by using the term "boneless chicken wings" for a product that bears little resemblance to an actual chicken wing. By requiring the company to change the name of this product, we will be promoting transparency, accuracy, and fairness in advertising, ensuring that consumers have the information they need to make informed purchasing decisions. I would also like to draw your attention to another issue that is intertwined with the misleading labeling of Buffalo Wild Wings' "boneless chicken wings." This issue is the significant price discrepancy between their so-called "boneless chicken wings" and similar-sized chicken nuggets sold by other establishments.
    It is a widely known fact that chicken nuggets, which are made from ground chicken meat and often contain fillers and additives, are a more economical option when compared to traditional bone-in chicken wings. By labeling their product as "boneless chicken wings," Buffalo Wild Wings is not only misleading consumers with regards to the true nature of the product but also justifying charging a higher price for what is essentially a chicken nugget.
    This practice takes advantage of consumer trust and creates an unfair pricing structure that misleads customers into paying more for a product they believe to be of higher quality or value. By doing so, Buffalo Wild Wings is not only misrepresenting their product but also taking advantage of consumers' hard-earned money.
    We contend that if Buffalo Wild Wings were required to accurately label their product, consumers would be better informed and able to make more accurate price comparisons, thus preventing the unfair pricing practice that currently exists. By ensuring that the product is accurately labeled, we will be taking a stand for consumer rights, promoting transparency and fairness in the marketplace.
    In final conclusion, the plaintiffs request that the court require Buffalo Wild Wings to change the name of their "boneless chicken wings" product to a more accurate and truthful description, thereby preventing consumer deception and protecting the public from unfair pricing practices. Thank you.

    There's debates on the difference between drumsticks, thighs, drumettes, wings, and all that, but the part that drives me nuts is that both the article and Charlie are calling fried slices of chicken breast "nuggets", when they're actually chickens strips/fingers (or chicken tenders if they derive from the pectoralis minor or inner filet); real chicken nuggets are chopped-up/grounded-up/processed chicken meat from any part of the chicken and molded into their shape.

    Buffalo Wild Wings has drumettes. They’re from the wing.

    I don't understand how people are saying "boneless wings" are gross. They are the same nuggets you eat everywhere. It's the same sauce you eat on actual wings. They're just mad they didn't know it wasn't made from actual wing meat.

    I work for a local wing place and I can confirm that for us, we do actually tear the bone off the wing. Just the wingette, and not the drumette. An order of boneless wings are literally deboned wingettes.

      i worked at a place where they just sold tenders and nuggets, but called them "boneless wings" and "boneless bites". we even called them tenders and nuggets in the back of house, but were explicitly told not to say those words in front of customers. id give them a pass for selling full sized wings, but they also labeled those "jumbo wings" and sold them at a ridiculous mark up. if it werent for the fact that i had managers who were chill and would give us free food, id have never tasted those overpriced wings.

    Chicken Wings are 100% dark meat. Both the wing and drummette. Most nuggets are made with processed white meat ;)

  • @chaladoonn588
    @chaladoonn588 Před rokem

    I wouldn't even call boneless chicken, nuggets though. Chicken nuggets are smashed up chicken shaped into a nugget. A boneless wing is a piece of breast, still shreds apart as chicken meat should. Like tiny chicken tenders is all they are.

  • @ExceptBacon
    @ExceptBacon Před rokem

    There's some argument for the meats having different nutritional profiles, but even then the breast is generally the "healthier" of the two, though the higher sodium and fat content of the wing meat would probably make for better flavor. So, at best, he's suing because it wasn't juicy enough.
