Daily office challenges: deciding where to go for lunch.
nerds dont like go out to lunch, they like order burger or pizza and stay in front of computer ... that's what I've seen ...
You only do such comments when you've never faced bugs as a software engineer.

@@stealthoverflow I'm sorry for you if you do extra hours every day to fix your bugs ...

Hey guys look, its actually a "day in the life of a software developer" that is actually realistic, they actually work, they joke around (while they are working), they take a break for lunch, and they work some more
which is supprising to me considering all these interns keep uploading videos on how their day consists of 19 breaks to lay down, play games, coffee, and what not
Alphietv yes, I agree with you. The place where I work, we also have those videogames or table tennis, but I never had time to play!
Whatâs the difference? Iâm sure you could do all those things where this person works as long as you get your work done. Itâs not like those day in the lifeâs are fake.
cause he working for amazon. one who is bad
They have to get people to work 80 a week for free somehow
@@helloworld6989 all tech companies are the same
I love this, more realistic compare to some crazy things I see on youtube.
congrats for being the "Employee of the Year"

right
OMG you are a eagle
noticed that too
was it him? I thought it was someone who's alike.
Its not real đ He edited it in

7. Hours are flexible
Seems like any other software dev job. Would be interested to know more details and comparisons with other work experiences.
You're so chill! Really enjoyed the video :)
Hello, I am a high school student in NYC who got hired as a software developer (aprentership) and Iâm so happy to see how cool your day is.
Great video! Love the edits :)
So many people in your office! So cool :) I don't think my day is too dissimilar. I spend mornings checking emails, catching up on stuff, etc. There are meetings and coding interspersed.
Just discovered your channel, very impressive. You have increased your subscriber count by 1! :)
Very cool videos, hope amazon don't mind you making them
np amazon will sell them :P
The work environment seems pretty chill. I recommend using hub for that laptop and adding an external keyboard, mouse etc. I wouldn't stand working on internal keyboard. I envy you this adjustable desk, that's what's missing at my workplace. Cheers
I'm in-between keyboards. Kinda ending relation ship with the old one, trying out what's there... But so far only one-night stands. You know. Almost ready to settle for something serious soon.
Woah cool. At least a video about a day in the life of a software engineer that is realistic. Thanks Sir.
Gratulacje! Daleko skoczyĆeĆ, Envy it! Powodzenia dalej.
one of the best " day of software developer" videos
Loved it Smok , I also work for amazon , but was not sure Amazon doesnât mind filming inside the office .. great video .. it was fun to watch . đ
Those offices are cool. I would love a standing desk!

Great video, love ur content
By far the best one yet. A least it's not fabricated to look like something else
If we don't have much work to do we go ask others for lunch, so typical
My code reviewer is really thorough too, keeps me on my toes.
good video! even i work at Amazon BLR14 (India) for PSAS. Proud to be an Amazonian.
This "day in the life" actually shows you doing work. I appreciate that. Hahaha.
That's my day for the last 35 years. Imagine that. I'm tired. What a grind.
I'll raise you doing programming in the middle of a trading floor - being constantly interupted by people 70 people shouting all day, swearing at you, asking you questions, making you explain things, having to get on a phone call to explain how something works to an external client, having to both project manage, code and design everything yourself, have your boss/co-workers/random people you've never met claim your work is theirs, having to game the stack ranking system, having to work from 7:30am til 8pm with an hour commute each way, no lunch break. Being paid 10% of the money I made almost made it worth it, but not quite
@@jastat wow!
But you're probably gonna be rich
Is it worth having a few million dollars when you never have a minute of free time to spend it? It's a golden jail cell really. I just need to quit. I'm thinking about hanging it all up after christmas and opening a STEM center or maker-space so I can go back to being a hobbyist, when life was fun.
Donât be a sheep bro
That's a really cool office. Not really fancy but looks like it was built for productivity. Makes me want a large office vs working from home a I have been for the past year.
I always look at my calendar first before checking emails because you could have a meeting in the calendar which is like 30 minutes after you get to work. And you could miss the meeting if youâre busy reading emails and miss the meeting alert.
Wow thanks. I'm starting at AWS soon as well.
nice! my day is very same as yours , but i start work more late and go home late also)
I loved your office.
I went to high school with Nica. Say hi to him from me.
employee of the year lol :-), was this a after-effects compositing :-)
employee of the year spotted ,grt dude
Am I the only weirdo who watches these vids while working from home, so it feels like I'm back in the office?
Hey thatâs really cool! I actually work for amazon in our Dublin offices (Shannon). Itâs awesome how similar the offices and work environments are :)
I guess the Amazon offices everywhere has same theme...I work at Amazon Bangalore
Perfect depiction of SOftware Developer
nice to see the old faces. keep up the good work! greetings from a happy ex-user:p
Finally an honest one!
I noticed through the blurs all the different sized monitors, is there not a single monitor everyone has to use? Or do you get to pick and choose for your own desk? Looks like a nice day at work though
How do you like the open layout style? I'm a front end developer and our office is the traditional cubicle style.
Nice work!
I didn't know all Amazon offices across the world had the same desks, chairs, meeting rooms and monitors ^_^ Very accurate video.. Greetings from an ex Amazon dev :p
very nice! thanks
interesting to see how they do it at Amazon. I work in a small webdev company and we do it very similar. My day looks like this:
9:00 start work by checking emails, chats, see if something very important happend
9:30 do the job, if something important came up, do this first, if not, continue the job from day before.
10:00 /at monday: meeting for planning the week
11:45 daily meeting (except mondays) telling everyone what I am doing
12:00 - 13:00 lunch break
13:00 - coding..
14:00 (one a week) retrospective meeting
15:00 - 18:00 coding
What I hate about my job are all the meetings and forced break.. I am not hungry at 12:00 and I don't need 1h break... my brain shuts down at 14:00 - 16:00 and I am not really able to concentrate/code.. this is the time I would love to take a break. 30 minutes.. Not 1h at 12:00.. where I am still highly functional. 15 minutes nap at 15:00 works wonders for me, better than caffeine
Cheers from SYD!
Congratulations for doing job over there
this is one of very few realistic videos. I going to make one myself when I start
Great video, great job and great lifestyle coding.
Keep up the good work, Smok! How does one become an employee of the year at Amazon?
A little bit of photoshop and you can be anyone! ;););)

am starting my tech degree of computer science and engineering. And I hope, I will get a good job in a good company..and thank you for giving an indirect experience....
Your job looks very relaxed. And here i am with a bachelors degree in information systems, struggling to be hired as an entry level IT, underqualified because no job experience related to IT. As I work at an Amazon warehouse FC in New York as a tier 1 outbound packer surviving 12 hour shifts. hoping someday i can be in your position doing IT or even front end Web developing in a relaxed and casual work environment. I feel as if my degree has gone to waste because of this pandemic i cannot find opportunity in the IT industry. HR is corrupted.
A relax day in amazon xD
I can't comprehend why 311 people took the effort to downvote this video. It's exactly the kind of content I expected when I clicked this link - Cool video dude!

Thanks for the video, keep making more!
I love how the IT people are the same everywhere around the world.
Yeah, that's also what I like about this industry, every one using the same "language" and sharing the same "world", and you don't have to learn a lot of government-specific stuff to make a living.
Demetre Iobashvili another cool thing is most languages are all in English too.
This is not IT. Its Software Engineering.
"It's not Math. it's Algebra."

@Smok - What is your primary programming language you use daily?

Working as 10 years in IT, its boring and hectic life. 1 year was amazing as doing all playful activities and later its became more stressed, More big brand you are in,more pressure to prove yourself, You wont enjoy any TT ,Chess ,that's only for visitors ,interns or freshers, but as you became old you only go once in a while.
